fine dining experience - Edit
their menu is very creative and they focus of fermented foods and drinks. the elder flower kombucha glass was divine.
Read morethe portions are small as is to be expected of a fining dining place but not even hat small. the staff recommends 2 to 3 dishes per person, we were 2 people and order 4 which we shared, plus 2 deserts and were quite full and happy.
Pros: inventive menu, friendly service
Cons: pricy

The #1 Vegan Dining Experience EVER! - Edit
I read the reviews of O Gambuzino and we HAD to try this restaurant. First tip: MAKE A RESERVATION! Second Tip: Do the 10-course tasting menu. OMG! The reviews were not overreacting. This was hands down the very best vegan meal I have ever experienced. My Top 3 favs: The King Oyster Mushroom “Scallops”, the Lion’s man yakitori and the Cured daikon dish. But all of them were wonderful in their own way with incredible tastes and textures. I thought nothing could beat the cheesecake desert…until they brought out the chocolate mousse. Just kill me and send me to heaven. We will be back next week before we leave. Just the best gastronomical experience ever!

Lovely food but not great value - Edit
We just ordered 3 dishes between 2 of us, the falafel, cauliflower and bimimbap, the last of which cost 16 euros. Every dish was exceptionally tasty BUT the portions were so small for the price, we really don’t expect to be going home hungry at these prices!
Read moreMy other half is now tucking into peanut butter on toast! They deserve the five star reviews for the quality and inventiveness of the food but, I have to say, we feel a bit ripped off.
Service was variable, the waiting staff were friendly enough but chatted a lot between themselves rather than keeping an eye on our needs.

So gut - Edit

Fantastic! - Edit
We enjoyed the 12 course tasting menu enormously: truly creative and delicious. With two well made cocktails and a bottle of vinho verde, our bill was barely over 100 euro for two of us. We sat outside, which I recommend. The staff were fun and engaging. This place is a gem!

Das Auge isst mit. Fermentierte Spezialitäten. - Edit

Incredible food and flavour adventure - Edit
We had the 12 dish course and were blown away by almost every single dish. The price is incredibly fair, the service was lovely and the whole experience lasted for about three hours.
Read moreWe were very satisfied and full by the end, but never felt like we were forcing down another dish because the amount was just right. The dishes were all fermented in one way or another, which was a great theme, and they all tasted very different.
Cannot forget to mention the wines. We tried a lot of them, and even though we didn’t have a glass of each one but still had a generous test-sip, they only charged us for the glasses we went with.
Highly recommend if you’re in Lisbon to enjoy your evening here. Make a reservation. It was full that evening and it was a Monday!
Pros: The price!, All of the incredible flavours and fermentation. , they’re not afraid to do something different

Simply amazing - Edit
It is my first time having a multi-course like this. The dishes are surprising, creative, full of flavor combinations I’ve never imagined. Highly recommend for the experience. Overall, since there is a lot of fermented food it can have a sour, acidic theme.

Worth a visit - Edit
O Gambozino offers a great selection of tasty tapas meant to be shared. We had 5 dishes in total, and they were all quite good. I would highlight the bibimbap, with its "vegan egg" and the homemade ginger beer.

My favourite restaurant - Edit
I've been to O Gambuzino 3 times now but I wish I could go at least every week. This restaurant has delicious, creative food that I haven't found anywhere else. If you ask me it's definitely the best vegan restaurant in Portugal.
Read moreMy favourites when I first visited were the Gado Gado and Xerém do Mar. They have since changed their menu but all the new items are equally incredible. I particularly loved the ajo blanco and the pica pau de seitan.
For desserts, the cheesecake and the chocolate trio are specially good.
They now have a degustation menu with 12 dishes for 35€ which is surprisingly affordable, especially for the quality of dishes you get. It's a great way to sample the majority of their menu and you're going to leave full and satisfied.
100% recommended. Can't wait to finally visit the burger club as well.

Disappointing of bibimbap - Edit
I tried the bibimbap because it was highly recommended, but it didn’t match the photos or my expectations. There was no broccoli, tofu, or onion—just a lot of pickled vegetables and an overwhelming sour taste, plus it seemed to be mostly filled with bulgur.
Read moreUnfortunately, it was quite disappointing.
On the bright side, the pica pau and the gazpacho soup were actually really tasty!
Pros: gazpacho, pica pau
Cons: Bimbibap
OGambuzino
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We do try to give up-to-date descriptions of all of our dishes on the menu. We recently updated our bibimbap with a new flavour profile that leans more into fermentation and bold contrasts. The current version includes seitan bulgogi, shiitake, bean sprouts, cabbage, and cucumber kimchi, all served over brown rice—not bulgur, though we understand it can look similar. It's also intentionally saucier than the previous version, so the sauce is already incorporated in rather than served on the side.
Read moreThere are indeed photos circulating online of our older bibimbap, which may have caused some confusion — we're working on updating those where we can. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, but we really appreciate you mentioning the dishes you did enjoy, like the pica pau and gazpacho!
We’ll take your feedback into account as we continue evolving the menu.
