Excellent local vegan restaurant - Edit
The seats outside were all taken and so we had to sit inside. We had the tasting menu (12 courses) which was excellent. It was also very reasonably priced.

My favourite restaurant - Edit
I've been to O Gambuzino 3 times now but I wish I could go at least every week. This restaurant has delicious, creative food that I haven't found anywhere else. If you ask me it's definitely the best vegan restaurant in Portugal.
Read moreMy favourites when I first visited were the Gado Gado and Xerém do Mar. They have since changed their menu but all the new items are equally incredible. I particularly loved the ajo blanco and the pica pau de seitan.
For desserts, the cheesecake and the chocolate trio are specially good.
They now have a degustation menu with 12 dishes for 35€ which is surprisingly affordable, especially for the quality of dishes you get. It's a great way to sample the majority of their menu and you're going to leave full and satisfied.
100% recommended. Can't wait to finally visit the burger club as well.

Disappointing of bibimbap - Edit
I tried the bibimbap because it was highly recommended, but it didn’t match the photos or my expectations. There was no broccoli, tofu, or onion—just a lot of pickled vegetables and an overwhelming sour taste, plus it seemed to be mostly filled with bulgur.
Read moreUnfortunately, it was quite disappointing.
On the bright side, the pica pau and the gazpacho soup were actually really tasty!
Pros: gazpacho, pica pau
Cons: Bimbibap
OGambuzino
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We do try to give up-to-date descriptions of all of our dishes on the menu. We recently updated our bibimbap with a new flavour profile that leans more into fermentation and bold contrasts. The current version includes seitan bulgogi, shiitake, bean sprouts, cabbage, and cucumber kimchi, all served over brown rice—not bulgur, though we understand it can look similar. It's also intentionally saucier than the previous version, so the sauce is already incorporated in rather than served on the side.
Read moreThere are indeed photos circulating online of our older bibimbap, which may have caused some confusion — we're working on updating those where we can. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, but we really appreciate you mentioning the dishes you did enjoy, like the pica pau and gazpacho!
We’ll take your feedback into account as we continue evolving the menu.

Just wow! - Edit
I decided in their tasting menu for dinner because I traveled alone and wanted to try as many dishes as possible. The flavors were amazing, ingredients fresh and a few ingredients that I don’t usually like were amazing!!!

Vegan portuguese specialties homemade - Edit
The O Gambuzino chain consists of two locations: one dedicated to Portuguese gastronomy, the other to signature burgers.
Read moreI was able to try out the first one, which featured the country's typical gastronomy.
I started with some hot focaccia bread with a succulent hummus!
This was followed by a magnificent dish: white beans and tempeh with sunflower seeds, sweet potato, fennel, radicchio and tamarind
For dessert, Belgian chocolate mousse, baked cocoa meringue, chocolate crumb and blackberries.
With well-dressed plates, the result is stunning. The kitchen brigade is very attentive to presentation, and you can see them making the dishes in the open kitchen.
I really appreciated the top-notch service!
In short, an address not to be missed in Lisbon.

Highlight of our trip - Edit
2024: We had some great vegan meals in Lisbon, but this one was the highlight! To start we had the pani puri gazpacho (flavor explosion in your mouth!). For mains we ordered bibimbap (deliciously spicy, excellent kimchi, and a vegan egg yolk on top 😲) and ta’ameya (flavorful amd filling). To finish, we had the most tasty and silky panna cotta. Highly recommend this place, and be sure to make a reservation.

One of the best vegan spots in Lisbon - Edit
We tried the 12 course taster menu, which was amazing, albeit too lengthy in my opinion. It had a really good range of dishes, all beautifully presented and full of flavour. I particularly appreciated how they made their own kambucha and water kefir, which is rare to see. My only complaint is that the ambiance outside does not match the food vibes

My favorite dinner while in Lisbon - Edit
I wish I had more time in Lisbon, so I could eat here again.
Read moreThe house tempeh was to die for.
Portions are not big, which was perfect for me while not smoking weed, though a little pricey for the size. You pay for the gourmet, but it’s worth it to treat yourself.
Would recommend. Would definitely eat here again. Would be a nice place to bring a date.
Pros: Delectable gourmet food, Specialty ferments, Cool artwork & backstory
Cons: A little pricey

Delicious from top to bottom. We got white sangria, seitan, cauliflower steak, homemade tempeh, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. Everything was good, but the tempeh was life-changing. Loved the vibe of the decorations and art as well.

Lively place - try the Pica Pau!!! - Edit
This was our first meal in Lisbon and a good introduction to the city. A vibrant restaurant with a busy patio (you will be asked to share a table, which we didn’t mind), a large menu, and friendly service. I had the best espresso martini of my life (made with the local almond liqueur!), and then we had some great appetizers including an amazing dish - a vegan Pica Pau with homemade seitan. Salty and rich but very good. The entrees didn’t wow us as much (although I loved the homemade tempeh), but the dessert did! Overall, a great place.

Not my cup of tea - Edit
I've been here to try what is considered the best vegan spot in Lisbon and I'm sure it is, but not for everybody. If you like fusion and highly detailed food, this is for sure a significant restaurant. Everything is aesthetically perfect and the staff is gentle too. As for me, I would have liked to have the only Middle East style dish, but it was over. So I tried tofu in a grapefruit sauce and tempeh in another strange combination. Since I'm Italian I can't stand fruits in salted meals (except lemon and sometimes apple), and that was not my cup of tea for sure. I gave four stars because I am rational and sure that this place is a precious spot for experimental cuisine, but honestly it was a hard challenge for my mouth.

Best vegan meal - Edit
This was easily one of the best meals we have had, period. The quality and presentation made it feel as though we were at a Michelin star restaurant but beyond reasonably priced. If you’re in Lisbon, this should absolutely be on your list of places to check out.

Great food and ambience - Edit
I picked O Gambuzino for my Saturday night meal in Lisbon, and I'm so glad I did. I made a reservation the day before for one of the "squeeze" time slots (90 minutes @6:45). The later times were all booked. I was seated promptly and had two servers attend to me - both were great. I ordered the house wine, which they assured me was fantastic, and it was. The menu is very interesting and varied. I got the Gado Gado. I was facing the kitchen so was able to see the chefs prepare the food (delicate plating, tweezers, etc.). Meanwhile the place was filling up and the vibe/music was A+. The Gado Gado was gorgeously presented. There were a few things on my plate that I didn't recognize but it all tasted delicious! The food is really layered and rich, and the portions are large. I was too stuffed to get dessert. I would definitely go back here the next time I'm in Lisbon.
