So gut

Fantastic!

We enjoyed the 12 course tasting menu enormously: truly creative and delicious. With two well made cocktails and a bottle of vinho verde, our bill was barely over 100 euro for two of us. We sat outside, which I recommend. The staff were fun and engaging. This place is a gem!

Pros: Frische Zutaten, Eigene Herstellung, Freundliches Personal

Incredible food and flavour adventure

We had the 12 dish course and were blown away by almost every single dish. The price is incredibly fair, the service was lovely and the whole experience lasted for about three hours.
We were very satisfied and full by the end, but never felt like we were forcing down another dish because the amount was just right. The dishes were all fermented in one way or another, which was a great theme, and they all tasted very different.
Cannot forget to mention the wines. We tried a lot of them, and even though we didn’t have a glass of each one but still had a generous test-sip, they only charged us for the glasses we went with.
Highly recommend if you’re in Lisbon to enjoy your evening here. Make a reservation. It was full that evening and it was a Monday!

Pros: The price!, All of the incredible flavours and fermentation. , they’re not afraid to do something different

Simply amazing

It is my first time having a multi-course like this. The dishes are surprising, creative, full of flavor combinations I’ve never imagined. Highly recommend for the experience. Overall, since there is a lot of fermented food it can have a sour, acidic theme.

Decent

The food here is pretty tasty in general

The locations a bit rough outside and the service is a bit slow

But if you’re not in a rush, they have some pretty interesting dishes

Worth a visit

O Gambozino offers a great selection of tasty tapas meant to be shared. We had 5 dishes in total, and they were all quite good. I would highlight the bibimbap, with its "vegan egg" and the homemade ginger beer.

A culinary experience

We took the 12 course tasting menu which was only 35€/person. Definitely a great experience but I wouldn't go there completely starved.

Excellent local vegan restaurant

The seats outside were all taken and so we had to sit inside. We had the tasting menu (12 courses) which was excellent. It was also very reasonably priced.

Pros: Purely vegan , Tasting menu, Reasonable price

My favourite restaurant

I've been to O Gambuzino 3 times now but I wish I could go at least every week. This restaurant has delicious, creative food that I haven't found anywhere else. If you ask me it's definitely the best vegan restaurant in Portugal.
My favourites when I first visited were the Gado Gado and Xerém do Mar. They have since changed their menu but all the new items are equally incredible. I particularly loved the ajo blanco and the pica pau de seitan.
For desserts, the cheesecake and the chocolate trio are specially good.
They now have a degustation menu with 12 dishes for 35€ which is surprisingly affordable, especially for the quality of dishes you get. It's a great way to sample the majority of their menu and you're going to leave full and satisfied.
100% recommended. Can't wait to finally visit the burger club as well.

Disappointing of bibimbap

I tried the bibimbap because it was highly recommended, but it didn’t match the photos or my expectations. There was no broccoli, tofu, or onion—just a lot of pickled vegetables and an overwhelming sour taste, plus it seemed to be mostly filled with bulgur.

Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing.

On the bright side, the pica pau and the gazpacho soup were actually really tasty!

Pros: gazpacho, pica pau

Cons: Bimbibap

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We do try to give up-to-date descriptions of all of our dishes on the menu. We recently updated our bibimbap with a new flavour profile that leans more into fermentation and bold contrasts. The current version includes seitan bulgogi, shiitake, bean sprouts, cabbage, and cucumber kimchi, all served over brown rice—not bulgur, though we understand it can look similar. It's also intentionally saucier than the previous version, so the sauce is already incorporated in rather than served on the side.

There are indeed photos circulating online of our older bibimbap, which may have caused some confusion — we're working on updating those where we can. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, but we really appreciate you mentioning the dishes you did enjoy, like the pica pau and gazpacho!

We’ll take your feedback into account as we continue evolving the menu.

Just wow!

I decided in their tasting menu for dinner because I traveled alone and wanted to try as many dishes as possible. The flavors were amazing, ingredients fresh and a few ingredients that I don’t usually like were amazing!!!
The dishes were beautiful and tasted amazing! I would definitely go back next time I’m is Lisbon to order a few off the regular menu.

Vegan portuguese specialties homemade

The O Gambuzino chain consists of two locations: one dedicated to Portuguese gastronomy, the other to signature burgers.
I was able to try out the first one, which featured the country's typical gastronomy.
I started with some hot focaccia bread with a succulent hummus!
This was followed by a magnificent dish: white beans and tempeh with sunflower seeds, sweet potato, fennel, radicchio and tamarind
For dessert, Belgian chocolate mousse, baked cocoa meringue, chocolate crumb and blackberries.

With well-dressed plates, the result is stunning. The kitchen brigade is very attentive to presentation, and you can see them making the dishes in the open kitchen.

I really appreciated the top-notch service!

In short, an address not to be missed in Lisbon.

Highlight of our trip

2024: We had some great vegan meals in Lisbon, but this one was the highlight! To start we had the pani puri gazpacho (flavor explosion in your mouth!). For mains we ordered bibimbap (deliciously spicy, excellent kimchi, and a vegan egg yolk on top 😲) and ta’ameya (flavorful amd filling). To finish, we had the most tasty and silky panna cotta. Highly recommend this place, and be sure to make a reservation.
2025: We ate here again and everything was excellent once again. The flavors, textures, and imagination that go into creating the dishes are a joy to experience. Service was excellent.

One of the best vegan spots in Lisbon

We tried the 12 course taster menu, which was amazing, albeit too lengthy in my opinion. It had a really good range of dishes, all beautifully presented and full of flavour. I particularly appreciated how they made their own kambucha and water kefir, which is rare to see. My only complaint is that the ambiance outside does not match the food vibes

Good if you like fermented food

We had the discovery dinner (12 courses) and it was good food but very fermented/pickled 🙈
The staff and atmosphere were lovely though!

My favorite dinner while in Lisbon

I wish I had more time in Lisbon, so I could eat here again.

The house tempeh was to die for.

Portions are not big, which was perfect for me while not smoking weed, though a little pricey for the size. You pay for the gourmet, but it’s worth it to treat yourself.

Would recommend. Would definitely eat here again. Would be a nice place to bring a date.

Pros: Delectable gourmet food, Specialty ferments, Cool artwork & backstory

Cons: A little pricey
