Another great vegan spot in Florence! - Edit
We really liked this place, the staff was very nice and the food was tasty. They have a lot of italian classics like lasagna and pasta carbonara. We had eggplant parmigiana and the seitan stroganoff, which were both great! :)

Really good vegan fare in Florence! - Edit
Nirvana is a great restaurant with a nice , fresh vibe, . The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was tasty. Lots of traditional Italian dishes made vegan and they make their own seitan. The plate I got was the spezzatino seitan with potatoes and salad. Very soft and well-made seitan but it could have been a bit more savoury . Maybe more salt? Overall a really good experience at a reasonable price .

A lot of options, both Italian and otherwise, not a fancy place at all. We both ate the carbonara, which was good for its price. The homemade seitan was excellent (much better than I can ever make), the sauce was tasty and the vegan cheese surprisingly cheese-like. For Italian al dente standards the pasta was overcooked but I personally don't mind. The staff are friendly, the vibe at the restaurant is happy and chill. A bit hot inside and unfortunately no outside seating. Bathroom could use some renovation.

Fully vegan and lots of options. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Ravoli was good. Vegetable stew with tofu was not great though. Soft tofu without much taste. Still I like the atmosphere and I would love to try more of their food. The chocolate pudding was good as well.

We went twice whilst on a trip to Florence, both times staff were friendly ans welcoming. Stand out dishes was the carbonara and ravioli, and of course the tiramisu which is so creamy however could have a little more coffee flavour. Definitely recommend a visit

A dizzying 4 or so pages of vegan dishes to choose from. Lots of seitan-based dishes with seitan that they make in house. Staff was nice and attentive, prices were decent (13€ a dish). Good, tree-shaded outdoor seating options. Went there 2 days in a row

A fully vegan restaurant relatively close to Santa Maria Novella. Despite the name and decor giving the impression of an Indian restaurant, the menu is actually quite diverse and not limited to Indian cuisine. They offer a broad and varied selection of dishes. Service was fast, prices were reasonable by Florence standards, and everything we ate was very tasty. Still, I’m not giving five stars. I'm officially tired of ordering something labeled “tiramisu” in Italy and tasting zero coffee.

Okay but mostly disappointing - Edit
After seeing the good reviews, I was looking forward to trying this completely vegan restaurant. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. The menu was a little hard to navigate, mainly due to translation errors. We ordered wine (which was not good however very cheap so not a problem) and tried to order tap water however the person who served us said they only do bottled water. We then received a bottled "mineral" water, which was definitely tap water. The bottle cap was damaged from having been used so many times, and there was a fill line on the inside of the bottle from repeated use. This felt very dishonest.
Read moreWe had the ravioli and a pizza. The ravioli was alright, certainly nothing special, however was fine. It came very quickly and I strongly suspect it was microwaved. The pizza on the other hand was awful - thick base with very basic tomato sauce and cheap vegan cheese.
Now what I will say though.. the tofu cake was tasty so if you do go, it's worth having that.

Salve, fortunatamente noi non abbiamo microonde…. In Italia usiamo acqua in bottiglia…..e spesso a temperatura ambiente… ovvio che se uno la vuole fresca può usare la parola e dirlo!!il tempo è perfetto, c è chi dice che siamo troppo lenti e chi il contrario…. Quindi è molto soggettivo… ringrazio tutti i veri vegani che sostengono tutte le attività Vegan,che già c’è ne sono poche in Italia… vi aspettiamo tutti nel nostro ristorante dove potete assaporare la nostra cucina sana , equilibrata e senza microonde !! Sempre e solo GO VEGAN

Delicious meat starter, truffle carbonara and seitan pieces that we accidentally ordered together but were actually delicious. However, really disappointing tofu cake. Don’t know if it was the texture or taste but neither of us liked it at all.

It’s a shame this vegan restaurant doesn’t really work but it doesn’t. The food was fine- nothing more. The location is not great and the ambience inside was nothing short of sterile. Very empty and no music so that emphasised the silence. Some of the waiting staff are lovely and some not very customer friendly at all. We had ravioli with tofu ragu followed by tiramisu. Quite nice but could have been so much more so ultimately a bit disappointed

Salveee, i ravioli non hanno il sugo di tofu…. Non lo ha mangiato da noi…. Noi abbiamo la musica di sottofondo, ovviamente non è una discoteca…. Ma lei è sicura di essere venuta da noi?! Ho qualche dubbio perché dice tutte cose che noi non abbiamo … ma la invito a mangiare da noi per la prima volta…..

I don't like leaving negative reviews of vegan restaurants because I want to support their business, but unfortunately we were really disappointed by our visit to Nirvana.
Read moreFirst, the positives: the staff are super friendly and kind, which made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is also located in a nice area and in the summertime I assume it's possible to sit outside. It's also nice that they have (veganised) regional Italian dishes on the menu.
Then the negatives: unfortunately, the food just wasn't tasty. We had the vegetable carbonara and a seitan dish (of which I've forgotten the name). The seitan dish was edible, but the carbonara was really disappointing - just a tasteless blob of vegan cream with one or two pieces of unidentified veg. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also a bit odd, with cheap plastic menus and a strange collection of posters on the wall. I'd also really recommend they add a bit more info about the different dishes on the menu, because it's impossible to know the difference between the 7 various seitan dishes.
Overall, I really wish we had liked this place, especially given the very positive reviews here on HappyCow, but we left disappointed and believe it's important to be honest in sharing feedback. Maybe they had a bad day and the normal experience is much better.

Salve…. Mi dispiace vivamente con tutto il cuore di una cosa… noi chiediamo a ogni cliente..” tutto bene? Gli è piaciuto? “ e la risposta vedendo anche i piatti vuoti è “ yes! !”……. Però a scrivere sono tutti bravi soprattutto a seconda del proprio gusto e dell umore della giornata ….. perché non dirlo?! Potrebbe aiutare a migliorarsi… mentre scriverlo ( che è opinabile e personale) a cosa serve?ristoranti Vegan a firenze ce n e pochi….

Concludo ricordando che la cuoca ha un esperienza di 50 anni nel campo della ristorazione veg. La carbonara non è mai stata fatta con le verdure, ma con il seitan…. Purtroppo l avrà mangiata da altre parti…. Attenzione a non fare confusione….. concludo dicendo, che l arredamento è come la casa, ognuno la ha , a proprio gusto “ opinabile”……
Sarebbe meraviglioso poter soddisfare ogni singola persona…. Noi ci priviamo… c è tanta passione e tanto tempo dedicato…

Die Spaghetti Carbonara waren sehr lecker! Die lasagne war sehr weich und nichts besonderes, also nicht wirklich zu empfehlen. Das Tiramisu auch sehr lecker!

Reding all the good reviews we were very disappointed. The food wasn't freshly made, which was obvious as the food arrived after 3 minutes. Especially the lasagne was still cold in the middle. The truffle carbonara was ok but not very well balanced. The staff was very nice but the food was simply not good..
