Great pasta! - Edit
To be honest I was a little put off by the name-I imagined couscous and brown rice health food but they actually had a really good menu. They have pasta with different sauces, carbonara, creamy truffle sauce, gnocchi, ravioli, .... And many seitan dishes. We had the spaghetti with creamy truffle sauce and the seitan cooked in Chianti with roasted potatoes with salad. (The potatoes were so good!). The pasta was delicious! We had the cheese plate for appetizer- it was ok, but nice for a light appetizer. The deserts were only ok though. €7-€10 euros per main dish, so it was a good value. Also this place is mainly vegan with a few non-vegan items clearly marked.

We had lunch on the outside under the trees (near the road though). Pastas and the tofu cake are pretty good. I recommend it!

Average Pizza - Edit
We went there for dinner (around 10pm) and 3 of us ordered pizza and someone else ordered a suppe but it really wasn‘t that spectacular like the other reviews said. Also the waiter had no clue about the dishes or beer, wines. He wasn‘t rude but just not very informed or seemed happy to work there.. i wouldn‘t go back.

Vegan Classics! - Edit
I really enjoyed this spot! I wasn’t sure what to do for dinner, found Nirvana, and was pleasantly surprised! I got two dishes, the vegan carbonara and eggplant parm. The carbonara was by far the best, and was absolutely mouthwatering...would definitely go again just for that! I felt like I found the vegan version of the taste of Italy I was hoping to seek. Eggplant parm was pretty good, but I wasn’t as blown away. The waiter was friendly, there are English menus, and overall pretty good pricing! A variety of beer and wine, and many gluten free options as well.

Wonderul & elegant place - Edit
This place is truly a gem, since in Florence it's not that easy to find a vegan place that is not fast-food. This place has a vast menu with all kind of wonderful dishes. The price is right for the quality and service. The place is super relaxing, very romantic, suitable for couples and also big groups. Located close to the old town. I have been there already several times and every time it's a great experience!

Amazing - Edit
This little gem was right across the street from our hotel; we ate most of our lunches and dinners here, returning day after day, always looking forward to the next meal.

Almost entirely vegan - Edit
Lovely laid-back restaurant that feels like a local hangout. Entire menu is vegan except for pizza, and they offer a vegan pizza, too. Had the vegan pizza, ravioli (not very filling but delicious sauce), something called “seitan and beans” which turned out to be a wonderfully flavorful beans and rice dish—a table pleaser. If you have a craving for cheese order the “rice with cheese” which is literally what it sounds like. Cheese overload, but just what my table mate wanted. Next time I will try the stroganoff. English menu offered.

FANTASTIC!!! Loved it. - Edit
Up there with the best food I’ve had this trip (through Italy, Barcelona and other parts of Spain, Amsterdam and France...).
Read moreGreat menu, so many choices. Food is hearty and homestyle and to me seemed rustic and wholesome. It’s really delicious. I ordered so much so I could try lots of vegan treats and took leftovers home. Then the next night I ordered home delivery to my hotel from their website 😂🙈. Everything was delicious. Plenty of vegan choices - pasta, pizza, vegetable dishes, desserts...tofu and seitan are used. Flavours are gorgeous and the vegan cheeses are great.
Really great experience - like going out for homestyle good quality fresh Italian except....happens to be vegan. I was really delighted to find this place.
Pros: Loads of options, Lovely setting, friendly staff , Very tasty food, and good value for money

Amazing - many Italian vegan options - Edit
The majority of the menu is vegan - they have a “not vegan” symbol next to the few items that aren’t. Their vegan Parmesan cheese is sooo good! We ate ourselves sick here. Then ordered dessert.

the vegan pizza was great, the apple pie was too, the ravioli was a very small portion and there’s no way it could fill you up though. i think they have no air conditioning and it was pretty hot inside. tons of vegan options!

No stars - Edit
I couldn’t have had a worse experience here. Beyond rude (for no reason). No air conditioning (was 90 degrees that day). No one spoke English- which is fine- but he old man running the whole place seemed to hate Americans as soon as my girlfriend and i walked in (we are very friendly, smiley, and tip well). Was 30 min before we even got a water and we were handed a paper with 3 food options (in Italian) instead of the menu. When i asked for a real menu, he got upset and just about everything we try to order he said was unavailable at the time. He said ordering from the real menu would take much more time. My girlfriend ended up leaving because everyone was being so rude I waited and ordered food. They brought out “seitan” within 10 minutes (very quick unlike what he had told me) and it looked like a piece of plastic that hadn’t been cooked. And dry tasteless risotto. It was awful. I was so hungry from not eating all day and I couldn’t even put it down. Then a group of Italians walked in next to me got served much quicker, and were handed a real menu. I felt like they were just trying to rush me out of there and the food on top of it was awful.

Honeymoon Dinner - Edit
In Italy for our honeymoon and went here tonight for dinner. Service was very fast, very friendly, and the whole bill was very inexpensive. We got 2 large bottles of water, one soup, one carbonara, one eggplant parm, a large salad (the eggplant parm came with a side salad), and a tiramisu for dessert for 33 Euros.
Read moreThe tiramisu seemed to be missing the coffee but was still nice. This may be because of the ayurvedic influence (no coffee perhaps?).

A little tranquility in the city - Edit
My husband & I enjoyed dinner here, the atmosphere is calm & the service was charming. The food (I had the Asparagus quinoa risotto & my husband had the burger) arrived quickly and was delicious although if you don’t like your burgers ‘meaty’ then this one isn’t for you. The desserts were fabulous! (Chocolate & pear cake & tiramisu) well worth keeping space for. All in all a lovely place to drop by and fuel up in between sight seeing stops.

An oasis of calm and great food in Florence! - Edit
This restaurant is amazing! I love that they do simple vegan Italian food (I'm Italian!). Often many restaurants try to prepare fancy dishes, nouvelle cuisine style, but at Nirvana you can find simple and amazing food! The carbonara is the closest thing you can get to the traditional non vegan one. Can't wait to go back!

Awesome - Edit
I had dinner with my boyfriend at this cute and quiet vegan place and we were both surprised by the amazing food and the low prices. Although my boyfriend is often reluctant to eat vegan or even vegetarian he really enjoyed his supper, and so did I. We shared an appetizer made with hummus and chutney, he had some pizza aubergines and I had quinoa with asparagus. Even the desserts were delicious! Give it a try!

Excellent vegan food - Edit
Really good vegan food here. Carbonara, rice with mushrooms and stroganoff were excellent. Best carbonara replacement I have found so far, with extremely realistic veggie Parmesan cheese. House wine was okay, probably try the chianti next time and we were very sad to hear the tiramisu was not vegan but the pear chocolate pie was quite good.
