Vibey place!

I really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant! It was a little small but we were seated quickly. I got the back a yard bowl with tofu and mango vinaigrette on my salad. I personally didn’t care for the garlic bread. The bowl was a huge portion and the flavour of the tofu, amazing. Friendly staff!

Love the flavorful vegan gluten-free food

Best dinner we had in Asheville! Wonderful bowls with pasta or rice that can be made vegan and gluten-free, plenty of flavorful sauce, excellent hot sauces and beers. We sat outside on the sidewalk. It’s a bit more noisy inside and if you are vegan and bothered by the smell of meat being cooked it might not be ideal for you inside

Local fave

We eat here often. The food is always good and there are many vegan options. Menu is clearly labeled and staff are very knowledgeable about what is vegan or can be made vegan. Atmosphere is cozy indoors and there are a few tables out on the sidewalk for nice weather. They are usually pretty busy so be prepared to wait a bit. I love the Irie Ites with tofu; my partner is partial to the Marley's Magic with tofu or tempeh. The His Majesty salad dressing is so good you will want to lick the plate when you're done! And thank goodness the natty bread is vegan!

Delicious with Tons of Vegan Options!

Just what we were looking for…thank you Happy Cow reviewers! (I wish I could give it five stars.) Nine Mile is located on a tree lined street near the University and it attracts teachers, students, locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is casual but with a nice vibe and you’ll most likely have to wait for a table. My Back of the Yard Bowl with the Grilled Beyond Brats was soooo good! Truly satisfying with the black beans, rice, plantains and pineapple salsa. And I loved the salad with the tahini dressing as well. Nine Mile isn’t fully vegan, but they go out of their way to integrate vegan into the menu. Wonderful discovery!

Best hummus!

Had a vegan Jamaican bowl. Delicious! The best thing I had was the green curry hummus with tortilla chips (gf). Non-vegan husband loved his food, too.

Pros: Great food!, Several vegan options, Serves alcohol - great service

Cons: Busy & loud

The best nine mile!!

This is the next nine mile in AVL. It is however always packed! The food here is so much better than the other locations but they do not take reservations and weather or not they answer the phone for to go orders is dependent on the day but I couldn’t tell you what the deciding factor is.

Some of the best vegan options in Asheville

A favorite meetup spot for local fam. We highly recommend the Irie Ites with jerk tofu or the back-a-yard bowl with vegan brats. His Majesty’s dressing on your side salad is soooo good we haven’t tried anything else, and the hummus of the day is always worth making room for😋

Pros: More than one vegan option, Super delicious food , Fair prices

Cons: Fills up fast, not uncommon to get turned away , Still should verbally announce that ur vegan, Some listed🌱 don’t come🌱 unless requested

Amazing flavor

I’m would give them 5 stars if allowed. Everyone loved their entrees. I ordered the Irie Ites with tofu. The pasta was as amazing as anything I would eaten before I was vegan. I didn’t think the tofu complimented the pasta but no worries, still a great dish. I would return.

Best vegan food in asheville

In my opinion, this is the best vegan food I've tried in Asheville so far. I've been so many times & usually always get the irie ites w/ jerk tofu. Its a creamy pesto pasta with tofu and veggies. Its so good, the food is so flavorful & each meal comes with a side salad (I recommend sesame garlic tahini dressing) and the natty bread (so fire) so it's a great amount of food for your money.
I've been to all locations and the Montford one is the most consistent with the best service. Highly recommend this location over the other two!
I can only rate it 4 stars bc its not all vegan/vegetarian but it really deserves 5.

Pros: Most things can be made vegan(marked on menu), Servers/cooks are mindful about dietary preference

5 stars

First of all the staff was super nice and accommodating(they let me bring my wheels inside)
And that goes a long way. The food was epic. The environment was chill. My only complaint is the water was chlorinated.

Pros: Vegan options, Amazing food, Nice staff

Cons: Chlorine in the drinking water

Incredible!!

I wish I could give this place 5 stars! Basically every single dish can be made vegan by replacing meat for tofu and dairy for a coconut milk cream sauce. Our waiter Justin was phenomenal and every dish is also custom order. I got the Meshach and I can’t eat peppers so they were able to replace them with zucchini and squash! But it was delicious! My husband got the nine mile and you can custom the heat level. He got the “level above hot” which is called the face melt and be warned this is HOT. Our waiter brought him out a dish of coconut milk to mellow out the heat a little bit for him. The vibe was so fun, the beer was good, every entree comes with bread and a salad which I really appreciate because I feel like you never see that anymore. Highly recommend. Next time we are in town we will definitely be back!

Pros: Every dish can be made vegan and custom ordered , Excellent customer service , Not too overpriced

Amazing!!

We got the back yard bowl. It was so amazingly flavorful. The jerk tofu was the best tofu I've ever had; the combination of the chimichurri and pineapple was perfect. Also, the natty bread = carb heaven.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Big portions

Allergen friendly

Every allergen was marked clearly on the menu! Great for vegan and non-vegans alike. Veggie noodles and gf grains for gluten free replacements. Not to mention the food is simply amazing. Spicy for those that like it spicy but can be removed if you can’t handle the spice!

Pros: Allergen friendly , Delicious , Substitutes for everything

Cons: Expensive

Good, but not spicy

Food was good (garlic bread is AMAZING, as is the garlic-tahini salad dressing) and portions were a little overly-generous. Only complaint was that even items marked as spicy aren’t even remotely hot. They could up the ante a little in that regard.

A permanent stop on my list

I love Nine Mile. I stopped for lunch on a road trip (and you know how hard it can be to find good options on the road, especially in rural areas). Tried the Marley dish, trout. Wow, it was delicious, delicate, love the sauce.

So I came back on my current trip,a month later, for dinner. Yum-e. I got the mahi with lime cream sauce and black beans. This time I tried a couple of their craft IPAs. Very nice.

It gets very busy after 6 so try to get there between 5 and 6 to get a table. Wait times can be almost an hour. It's that good!

Next time I have to try dessert.

Pros: Tons of vegan options, Excellent vegetarian choices, Gluten free options

Amazing food all time favorite restaurant

I’ve gone there for years and they have never disappointed. The food has tons of flavor and pretty much everything can be made vegetarian. My favorite vegan dish is the Jamaican me thirsty and my favorite vegetarian dish is the one foundation. Their natty bread is sooo good and their garlic tahini dressing is to die for. Highly recommend!!!!

Welcome to Asheville

Just rolled into Asheville and went right to Nine Mile since it’s on the neighborhood. Funky Rasta place with plenty of vegan options. An asparagus and mushroom soup followed by a salad with smoky maple flavored Tempe and almonds. Also a dish called Mishach with a creamy sauce and veges and mushrooms over squiggly pasta.

Glad we went there first so there is time to go back!

Pros: Great vegan options , Funky Rasta music and decorations.

Cons: No vegan desserts today :(

Love Nine Mile

Have been going to Nine Mile for years and it is consistently great! The Ire Ites with tofu is delicious! They offer veggie noodles and offer tofu as a protein so lots of options for vegans/vegetarians! Most entrees come with salad and bread so it is usually a very substantial meal.

Pros: Plenty of Veg Options, Friendly Place, Locally Owned

Cons: Don't Take Reservations, Can Get Busy So Sometimes There is a Long Wait, Small Space - More Seating at their West location

Amazing food!

One of the best meals I've ever had. They do serve meat but everything is clearly marked on the menu what is vegetarian or vegan. Makes it nice if you have a party with meat eaters, everyone can have a great time and enjoy

Pros: clearly marked vegan options, pasta, rice or zucchini noodles available with mea

Cons: do serve meat and seafood
