Beautiful space

Well this is an iconic cafe in Budapest, claimed to be the most beautiful cafe in the world. And I believe it is in fact . They always have a queue to go in of course. As for vegan options there is in fact quite a few options in all the courses (breakfast, main course, soups and desserts). Things can get quite expensive as you'd expect. They were playing the violin and piano as well which added to the beautiful atmosphere. The waiters are quite rude.

Pricey, but worth it

Let's face it: no one goes there for what is served. It is all about the venue, the magical architecture, the hype, and the feeling of being seated in the most beautiful cafe in the world.

Pay for the view, not food

Small selection of vegan options - soup, pasta, sorbet, tart. The food is ok, very overpriced for what it is, but you're not there for the food anyway. You're there for the interior design and ambience which I can't complain about.

Opulent surroundings, limited choices

I was torn on this being a 3 or 4, I had it at 3 but changed to 4 because they had options to cover all bases. It isn’t filled with options but there is enough to cover off all bases. The surroundings are lovely, very extravagant and lavish, as they say palatial.

Staff were professional and reasonably attentive. There is always a long queue outside that looks scary but it does move, I think it was about 25-30m long and we got seated in about 25 minutes.

We had Vanilla Panna Cotta and Baled Potato Creamed Soup. Both dishes were nice the pan a cotta was surprisingly thick and creamy with good berry flavours. The soup was rich, served with flair and had good flavour. To be honest it could have done with half a cup more water.

Lots of wanna be influencers not buying much and doing allot of posing, society might be better if they got a job

Pros: Beautfiul interior, very opulent , Quick service, Options to cover all meals

Cons: Long line but it moves at a reasonable pace, A lot of people influencing nothing posing

Surprisingly filling

They have vegan options both in menu and on their own, do yourself a favor and ask for the sweet potato curry with jasmine rice, so happy that I ended up choosing It. Every bite was spectacular, it is obviously pricy but as a treat it will not dissapoint. Incredible flavour, good amount of food even if you usually eat 'a lot' which I do, I struggled to finish everything.

Pros: Good portions, Spectacular flavour

Cons: Expensive

Beautiful

For my birthday, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves, and we loved every second of it! It was such an incredible experience, and we’ll definitely be back for that panna cotta – it was simply divine.
Current vegan options include:
- Campanelle Arrabiata
- Baked potato cream soup with marinated potato and truffles
- Indian style lentils curry with vegetables, baked sweet potato and rice
- Vanilla Panna Cotta with basil and raspberry
They also offer a vegan breakfast option from 8 to 11 am: Hummus with paprika and tomato salsa and cilantro served with pita bread
Everything was so tasty. The only small downside for us was that both vegan main dishes were spicy, and since we’re not big fans of spicy food, they weren’t the perfect match for us. But even then, dinner was delicious—yes, even the spicy dishes! ❤️ It’s definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for the experience. When you arrive, there are two lines: one for reservations (where only one couple was ahead of us) and one for walk-ins (which had a longer wait). In the reservation line, we only waited until the party ahead was seated. ☺️
One thing we learned: it’s best to go with a larger group. The tables for two are closer to the entrance area, while the tables further inside are reserved for bigger parties. So if you want a more beautiful experience, going with a group is the way to go! ☺️

Good vegan food with great ambience

There are limited vegan options, which are good but still quite expensive for what you get. The room is absolutely beautiful so it is still worth a visit.

European New York Style Cafe

The New York Café in Budapest, housed in the grand New York Palace, is renowned for its opulent interior and historical significance. Established in 1894, it features lavish Renaissance-style décor, including frescoes, chandeliers, and stucco work. Once a favorite of writers and artists, it continues to attract visitors with its luxurious. A few vegan dishes labelled on menu.

Pros: Beautiful surroundings , Menu clearly labelled , Food tasty

Cons: Long queues
