Bookish paradise - Edit
I only had mango sticky rice here, so I can‘t really comment on the food. The dish was delicious, but mango sticky rice (as corny as it may sound) usually is. However, I still want to describe how wonderful this place is. The atmosphere and cosiness created by the rows of book shelves is so nice, especially if you are a bookworm like me. It was great to browse the shelves and find a few treasures to buy.
Read moreThis restaurant is a social enterprise and there was also a lot of information provided about children in Cambodia, the negative effects of volontourism, about different NGOs etc. This was one of my favourite places in Siem Reap to hang out for an afternoon.

Vegan menu FTW! - Edit
Love that they have a dedicated vegan menu, even tho the veg*n items are also listed in the other one. We ordered the huge vegan fry up, the veggie noodle soup, mango smoothie and a large soy latte. While it is filling, the falafels and the potato rosti were a little dry and hard. The soy latte and the smoothie were super! Noodles were pretty authentic tasting. The business also supported various local social initiatives which is amazing!

Breakfast Fry-up is good - Edit
I visited New Leaf eatery twice while in Siem Reap. I had the Vegan Big Fry-up and a noodle soup. The fry-up was great, a mix of things all full of flavour. The soup was ok, I found the tofu could be better. They have quite a few vegan options on their menu.

Great spot!! - Edit
Central but not crowded, this vegan-friendly café (vegan menu) is a great break from the “bro-winess” that is pub street.

Great values, great food - Edit
They have a separate vegan menu, the values of the place are amazing and the place has a cosy, warm vibe and a lovely staff and is located very central. The food was good and I was happy both times I visited. The Cambodian breakfast soup was tasty and fresh, the mushroom larb also, the pumpkin and cononut soup was ok, bit the tastiest but still enjoyable enough to Finnish the bowl.

Ethics & Excellent food - Edit
The ethics of this place are just as excellent as the food. Took some meat eaters here and they were just as impressed. It's a shame it's not fully vegan

I eat almost every meal in this place every time I visit Siem Reap. Not only I love their social and environmental commitments, I also enjoy the atmosphere, their flexibility towards the food and how tasty everything is. I love being given a bit of coconut milk for my coffee.
Depending on the season, they may have a special menu, when I took my best friend there they had a whole range of mango dishes/desserts because it was in season.
The price is very reasonable compared to other places of similar quality with vegan options.
I will keep coming back!

Good vegan brekkie options - Edit
The vegan fry up was great, and they had several vegan options in each section of their large menu, also soy milk for coffees etc. Despite an error of my being brought a coffee with dairy milk despite repeatedly asking for soy, the service was kind and the mistake immediately rectified by a different member of staff (although the little biscuits they put on the side of the coffees are not vegan, even when you order everything else vegan). I think the ethos and the food far outweigh these small mistakes so would recommend it to other vegans, but maybe just check what you receive.

Some good options - Edit
Friendly service and some nice little locally produced fair trade items for sale. Upon sitting down we were handed cold towels - perfectly refreshing after a hot morning wandering the markets.
Read moreI ordered the roast pepper wrap. It wasn’t what I was expecting - I thought it would be a fresh salad but it was actually pretty much just warm roasted peppers. Taste was okay but not amazing. The chips were pretty good though, especially with the vegan mayo. The falafel on the side were a little dry, but with the guacamole they were great.
My partner enjoyed her mushroom and tofu larb, served in lettuce cups - it was really aromatic.
Vegetarian son was pleased with his chick pea and beetroot salad - it was fresh and satisfying - a good serving size.
One of the few places we have found serving a vegan cider - this is a winner in our books!!!
Pros: Social enterprise giving back to the community, Vegan cider , Professional service

Bargain Vegan Breakfast - Edit
$5 for a full vegan breakfast & coffee or smoothie (extra 50c) is an absolute steal. The restaurant is in a quiet street close to old market & the centre of town but a million miles away from the noise ! The staff are super nice and the food options are good for both veggie & vegan with $5 breakfast deal before 11.30am & all day Sunday a great way to start the day.

We visited for a quick lunch. They are not strictly vegetarian or vegan restaurant but have many vegan options on the menu and all are clearly labelled. We tried the vegetable curry and a veggie wrap. Everything was lovely. Additionally the restaurant supports local community.
