Denied entry/possible discrimination - Edit
Would give 1 star if I could
Read moreGot there at 4:30pm, restaurant closes at 8pm. Before I could even finish removing my shoes I was "greeted" by a waitress who told me they don't know if they can serve me food. Their reasoning was that "the current family wants to take a long time relaxing". Keep in mind for the cat portion of the facility you only get an hour max so I'd assume there's a cap on time in the dining portion too. When I asked what time would they be done the waitress said that the family allegedly said they would leave by 6:30 p.m. Also keep in mind the family was already there when I got there. So at this point it's over 2 hours to keep someone waiting to eat and it looked pretty empty in there besides one family. At this point it seemed like they didn't want me there and it felt like discrimination. Please spend your money elsewhere and support other cats fosters in Japan.
Pros: Discrimination 😍, Walking long distances to not be able to eat 😍

Chilling with cuddly cats - Edit
Being in Japan and away from my own cats this was the perfect place for me to get my dose of cat-cuddles.
Read moreThey were all super relaxed when I visited the shop, lying on the heating mat and sleeping most of the time.
The staff is super friendly and makes sure that the cats are treated well.
I got an tea which came in a very cute mug (be careful when you drink since it doesn't really cool down with the lid on!)
Pros: Adorable cats, Relaxed atmosphere

Wholesome experience! 🐱 - Edit
Was stoked my partner and I decided to have lunch at this cat cafe on our day trip to Osaka, it was a highlight.
Read moreThe cafe was a little tricky to find and we accidentally came in the back way. It’s in a laneway and Google Maps doesn’t show it as connected to the main road - but it is (have added a pic).
The food menu is simple and affordable, and you get a ¥300 discount per person if you also visit the cats. The set meals we had were tasty and filling.
The cats’ space was clean and they all looked very well looked after.
Just a note, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone with accessibility issues. The enclosed entry way where you must remove your shoes and wash hands is a very tight space, and to get to the dining area on the first floor you go up a very narrow, very steep flight of stairs.
All round a great way to spend an hour or two with kitties and a good feed 💚 #Veganuary
Pros: ethical vegan cat cafe, tasty food, lovely owner

cosy vegan cat cafè in osaka - Edit
one of my favourite memories of my time in osaka was at this precious cafè. it is small and homely, with lovely staff who clearly make the wellbeing of the cats their number one priority. the cats are in their own room away from customers and only approach if they want to. the menu is small but delicious, with home-style japanese comfort foods made vegan.

If You Want To Eat, Make Sure You Visit On The Correct Days - Edit
The food in the photos looks really good. It's a shame that we weren't able to order any of it. Unfortunately, prior to our visit, it wasn't clearly noted online that Neu Cat Cafe only serves meals from Saturday to Monday (It was in the reviews here but not the info, so full research really is something!). The location is also quite out of the way so there was some frustration to have to settle for just drinks when we were hungry.
Read moreHaving said that, how frustrated can you be when there's so many cute cats to play with? It's a lovely place for them to spend their time and it's obvious that they are well cared for. The place is clean and there's a lot of information displayed about all of the cats.
The coffee served wasn't anything special and it is quite a steep price to pay to spend an hour with the cats, but again, with it being a small operation that intends to take care of a lot of cats, it's worthwhile. We were even happy to buy some of the merchandise that they sell on the second floor. The cat room on the second floor is also very comfortable and shut off, so was a nice place to spend most of our time.
It's a nice place. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth supporting.
Pros: Cats are well-taken care of, Comfortable place to spend some time
Cons: Food unavailable when we visited, Is really quite far out of the way, get walking, Expensive for an hour of cat visitation

Cute little Café - Edit

Enjoy your food while looking at cute cats - Edit
Hidden in a back alley. Small place focused on the cats. If you want to have some time with cats you have to pay, no need to buy food. But if you are hungry and want to spend time with cats, do both😄(or just eat without cat time). Menu is small, but focussed. Area to eat is separated from the cats, but you can watch the cats through a window while eating.
Read moreWhen we have visited the place, food was only available Sat-mon, drinks every day.
Pros: Cats are in good condition and getting great care, Eating area is separated from cats

Beautiful walk to lovely food - Edit
A short and quaint walk from the station down several alleyways to a hidden gem. It's clear that the staff make the cat's wellbeing and welfare the priority and their system is fair. We didn't have time to interact with the cats but we saw how well they're looked after as they await their forever homes. Please support this movement if you can

Fun and cute - Edit
I went here mainly to play with cats, I did not order anything since I just had lunch prior to coming here. I like the location, it's quiet and cozy. I enjoyed playing with the cats. I love that they are all rescued and for rehoming. Highly recommended. #Veganuary

My happiest Osaka memory - Edit
My happiest memory of Osaka was this cat cafe; you could tell that these were rescue cats as some of them had old injuries. In my opinion, this just made their cuddles and mischievous antics all the more loveable and admirable.

🐈 Such a wonderful experience 🐈⬛ - Edit
I was a little worried headed into this place because we have 4 cats and know how much care they require but we were so impressed. The owner is a lovely woman who obviously cares for all of the cats deeply. The space is immaculate and the cats are very happy. In fact I wish my 4 cats got along as well as they do! There are 2 levels of cat rooms. There are also enclosures to give some cats the space they desire. We were lucky enough to have some kittens in the room when we went. All of the cats were lovely, well adjusted and affectionate. This cafe really does help them to live the life they deserve. The end goal is to rehome the cats into forever families. The food was so delicious. We opted for a salt and pepper set, a sweet and sour set, an iced matcha, hot matcha and a ginger ale. I also bought a bright yellow jumper with veggies and the recovering cross eyed kitty image printed onto it. Please support this place 💓💓💓

The Best!! - Edit
The cats here are sooo sweet and cuddly which is not normal at most cat cafes. I loved playing with them. Eating right next to the cat area is great and the food was super delicious and fresh. The cat matcha latte is also adorable! Make sure to buy some of their merch or one of their gatcha cat pins💕

I visited here in 2019. The ambiance and atmosphere was very cozy. The food was delcious! I'm not a huge cat lover, so I didn't play with or interact with the cats much, however they were cute from afar. If you love cats, you will love this place!

Adorable and well cared for cats 🐈 - Edit
We came around 19:30, so we had to choose between time with the cats or having food, and we choose to play with the cats for 1500¥ for one hour per person. Before coming in you have to take off your shoes and put on socks if you weren’t wearing any. You also have to wash your hands. There is no strong smell when you come in, which is good. The cats were happy, playful, and enjoyed being pet. I feel like these cats were well taken care off, in contrast to a lot of other cat cafes in Japan. Probably the only cat cafe I would go to as a vegan.
