Disappointing Return Visit - Edit
Visited this place on Saturday for the first time in a couple of years, excited to try it again, but ended up leaving without ordering due to a frustrating experience.
Read moreOn the menu, next to the Hanoi Fries the menu states "Vegan Mayo 50p", I asked if that means the dish is then fully vegan. The server gave a vague answer, then checked with the kitchen. He came back saying the fries would be vegan, but also wouldn't be because they were down to one fryer, meaning everything was cooked with the halloumi.
I then asked if that meant none of the other fries or the hash browns in the burgers were vegan. He initially said they were because the menu listed them as "VG", but when pointed out the fryer issue, he backtracked and admitted they weren't vegan either. The chef came out, explained the situation in an exasperated way, and left abruptly when we questioned why this wasn't mentioned upfront.
We left after telling the server this should have been clearly communicated from the start. It was appalling that they would've let us order three fully vegan meals without informing us about the dairy allergen contamination, something we only discovered because we asked specific questions.
I used to visit this place regularly when I lived in Portsmouth, frequent enough to even be asked by old chefs to test vegan items for the menu. After this experience, I won't be coming back. I'd also warn others with allergies to be extremely careful visiting.
Cons: Rude Staff, Lack of allergen concern

Really really great burger and chips - Edit
We've checked out so many vegan junk food places now and I can say the quality of the food is seriously highly here. The Heura Patty in the burgers was one of the best I've tried and I will be looking for these in the future. All the fried items were perfectly done, lovely and crispy with none of the greese. The Hanoi hangover Fries were probably the best item, the combination of sriracha, hoisin, mayo and peanuts was just perfect, I'm not the biggest fan of either sriracha or hoisin but these were perfectly used on these fries.

Nothing has been good since eating here - Edit
Honestly Im unsure if I will ever find vegan burger+ fries that will top this place.
Read moreHad the philli steak roll and the chicken burger. They were both insane. Had 2 different topped fries both insane. The Mac and cheese was possibly the BEST vegan Mac and cheese I've ever had.
4 stars because of the venue, it's really lively upstairs which isn't my thing, and downstairs needs renovating for it to be 100% comfortable to eat at
The owner and staff were also both amazing I cannot fault them
Pros: Unbelievable food , Amazing staff , Amazing value for money
Cons: Very lively upstairs , Downstairs seating needs renovating

Nice burger but overpriced - Edit
The food was good quality takeaway but definitely overpriced. £9 for just the burger... We also ordered a portion of the vegan smoked mayo for £1.20 but received ketchup. I'm not sure if this was a mistake or not.
