Main plate of menu of day lacking - Edit
I was hoping for so much more with the menu of day. The soup was good and the desert tasty. The place is clean and service was fast. The main plate of the menu of day was lacking as consisted of falafel, hummus and a mix of lettuce, tomato and salad (they called it tabule). Main plate portion was small. Price though was reasonable.

I went on Easter weekend when the special was “Fanesca”, a traditional Ecuadorian soup served during “holy week”. I decided to try it and it was delicious! Veganized, of course.

I have been back to Nandala numerous times since writing this review and it’s always fantastic. I’ve had the tofu sandwich (huge and delicious), soups and salads and the almuerzos - everything is excellent. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

I went here in June 2024 and got the meal of the day. Today's meal included a bowl of spinach soup, a drink, a tiny dessert, and the main plate which had chili, quinoa, and salad. It was all really delicious, especially the chili. It was seasoned just right and wasn't spicy. I definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in Cuenca. The meal of the day currently costs $4.75.

The restaurant we chose tonight is Nandala Cocina Vegana. We started with Cauliflower Bites that were super crispy and had the most amazing dipping sauce. We love that the bites were served on a yummy salad. Then we tried 2 vegan versions of Ecuadorian classics. The first is basically a potato soup with tofu, sweet peppers, avocado, and potato chips. The other is a green plantain mash with mushrooms and avocado. The plantain dish was served with a quart of herbal tea. Finally… chocolate cake! The cake was served in a chocolate soup. The bill came to $20 at this fancy place. All the food was exquisite. We highly recommend you visit them when you come to Cuenca

I had the almuerzo, and the day's offering was vegetable and Quinoa soup, salad, and a vegetable parmesan with mashed potatoes. It was delicious and nicely seasoned.

We really loved the appetizers. Cauliflower and nachos were good. The mains need something. The pad thai really lacked flavor. The jackfruit sandwich also seemed to be missing something - maybe a better bbq sauce?

I went here with my bf. We had fries with vegan cheddar cheese and red beans meat, which was tasty. The cauliflower wings were tasty as well, also had the chik’n burguer and nandala burger, they were good but tasted a little dry, and lacked some flavor. Could of used some sort of special sauce imo. I should also add that the burgers and fries tasted a little oily. Not that the burgers were dripping with oil. Just that they left a kind of fast food after taste and stomach fullness. The papelon con limon drinks were good, as well.

Delicious pulled jackfruit sandwich - Edit
We tried both the burrito with french fries, and the pulled jackfruit sandwich with sweet potato chips. The burrito was very average and not really recommendable - needed more spices and some added coriander. The pulled jackfruit sandwich was amazing, though! The sauce was on point. The lunch special is probably the thing to go for during midday as it is way more economical.

Cool place! Tasty food and friendly staff. Visited once for dinner and once for breakfast. It’s a little pricey and I wasn’t a fan of the salad that seemed to come with every dish (should’ve ordered fries with the burger instead).

Awesome vegan restaurant 😍 - Edit
We spend only 13,30€ for the menu del dia, tap water, kombucha, ceasar salad, lemonade. It was all so fresh and tasty. Staff is very friendly and helpful, english is spoken as well. We were so happy here about the food and the atmosphere, it's a great place.

I ate at Nandala three or four times while I was in Cuenca. Everything I got was very good. The staff are very friendly as well. The lunch menu had generous portions for a good price (about $4)
