Awful - do not go - Edit
Wanted to leave only one star but it would not allow me to, because apparently it is fully vegan WHICH IT IS NOT.
Read morePretty dire experience at this restaurant. The food was passable (except for the tofu which my friend ordered, which had an unpleasant crumbly texture, she had to ask the waiter if it was even tofu) and expensive. Worst of all was the service, we had to ask multiple times to order food, it then took us over an hour to receive our order (and even then we had to ask because it had been so long). At the end we made it known that we were quite disappointed but there was no attempt to make amends. Really disappointed by the experience, it spoiled our evening really and it was not money well spent.

Completely ruined it - Edit
This used to be my favourite restaurant, I'm so sad that they've changed it. The menu used to be so creative, unique and varied - now it's just a standard Indian menu AND it's not even vegan anymore. The reintroduction of dairy is a terrible move, we won't be returning. Bring back the old OmNom!

Gorgeous food - Edit
We had the 'prawn' koliwada and chilli lime mogo for starters - both disappeared too quickly for a photo! - and the butter masala curry with rice and cheesy nan for the main. Absolutely gorgeous. The rose lassi was good too. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back. (Dropped one star for the reintroduction of dairy - please reconsider 🙏🏽).

Why isn't it vegan any more?! - Edit
I loved this place when it was vegan. I was quite disappointed when I dined there recently and found out that it'd changed management whose decision to include dairy seems like a huge step backwards. I appreciate the menu is still meat-free and they continue to support a charity, but it used to be a fully vegan restaurant, with a wide range of cuisine! Since this is HappyCow, I can't give this a better rating because cows will have suffered for their new menu, especially in 2022 when dairy can be replaced with a variety of alternatives.

We've been here twice since the opening. The Jackfruit Biryani is amazing and most recently I had the Special Masala Dosa (vegan). The food is great, the staff are lovely and so laid back it's very reminiscent of being in India! Great venue, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I came here with some friends and we split three appetizers and three main dishes. I thought that they were all great. There were some really unique and enjoyable flavour combinations. We spent about £25 each. The restaurant is beautifully decorated; we sat in a sunny, glass-enclosed terrace. I’d happily come back here.

What a wonderfully experience. This is how vegan dining should be. Vijay and his wife have created a mouth-watering vegan menu consisting of some of the finest dishes we’ve tasted. They’ve only been open 15 days amd our family has visited twice already. Just dive into the menu and enjoy. Say hi to Vijay, he is so passionate about his guests enjoyment of the food.

Brilliant food - Edit
Went back in November 2021 but never reviewed! (I could have sworn it was entirely vegan when I went so not sure what happened). I had a lovely Lavender Fields mocktail and started with bang bang cauliflower or something similar I believe, then had an amazing jackfruit Vietnamese pancake as a main. Brownie for dessert was good but the main was the highlight. Only downside was it seemed slightly understaffed for how busy it was, meaning there was a slight wait and a feeling of a lack of attention from staff, but understandable considering impacts of COVID etc and how popular the spot seemed to be, and I assume that wouldn't be the case if I were to go again (which I would like to!)

Omnompotency - Edit
A really good place for a spot of high end lunch in the lovely Islington Square. We picked 3 tapas style dishes which were sufficiently sufficient to share and leave satisfied. I particularly enjoyed the tofu paneer with okra. Everything was creative and very nicely presented. The home-made lemonade was delicious but I could have easily smashed off a pint of it, especially at £3.50 for a small glass.

Filling, tasty and well worth it - Edit
Great place. Went with a non-Vegan friend who lives nearby. Had never been before. We both really enjoyed it. I think I had the "OM cheeseburger with fries and slaw" after a starter. The items look small, but we were genuinely both full after having them. They really were very filling, well made and tasty. I really liked the presentation. The place was also very smart and modern with a good, relaxed, vibrant ambience.

The worst service ever at a vegan restaurant - Edit
1. The waiter sat us down without informing that we have to view the menu on a phone.
Read more2. I asked for tap water twice but didn't get any.
3. One of the side dishes (naan bread) came with the starters so it got cold by the time the mains arrived.
4. I asked for 2 small plates, the waiter went to bring them and then suddenly completely forgotten about it and never brought any.
5. The waiting time between the starters and the mains was super long even though it wasn't busy.
6. I witnessed the waiter tie his shoelace, go on his phone, and then serve customers without washing his hands.
7. The thali wasn't actually a thali, it was just a curry with rice and poppadoms.

This dining experience felt like I was on candid camera. extremely uncomfortable seating. Dirty bottled water. Poor value and extremely poor service. The food was genuinely terrible, they exploit eastern philosophy and human spirituality whilst playing trap music. Fraud at its best. #Veganuary

No onion, no garlic heaven - Edit
Impressive menu and food showing flavour is by no means dependent on onion and garlic! We ordered a bit too much - the mains are quite large so beware. Favourite items would be the wontons, plantain chat and jackfruit tacos in starters. For the mains I would recommend the laksa and the Buffalo burger was also enjoyed! Love the rose and cardamom latte for something to warm your insides. Smoothies were also very refreshing. Desserts were yum too - had the brownie and sticky toffee pudding. Only item I did not enjoy were the ribs - far too 'smoky' for me. Note kitchen closes at 4pm and they don't tell you that when you book online so ask before you book as our entire meal felt a bit rushed. Overall certainly worth a visit.

"Enlightened eating" - Edit
An all round tasty and varied menu. Loved that it's free of onion and garlic and fully plant based. Gf options also available. In our usual excitement, more or less ordered the entire menu...! I can strongly recommend the wontons, bbq Korean cauli bites and plantain chaat. Mains wise the laksa was a universal favourite. They didn't have Eton mess on the day but the chocolate brownie with ice cream and sticky toffee pudding went down nicely. I felt it a little pedantic that they charge for dips e.g. ketchup. Also at the time of booking we were not informed when the kitchen closes so the evening felt very rushed hence the 4 stars. Otherwise great vibe and great concept. Give it a go.

Omnipotent food - Edit
Just off Upper street is this airy, modern vegan restaurant; but it’s so much more than just an eatery. There’s a yoga studio attached and for every meal purchased, the company donate a meal to those in need; all encompassing good karma.
Read moreThe food itself was excellent. Each dish on the menu had an interesting twist on a familiar dish. To start we had the Jalapeño poppers. They had an excellent crispy coating and a soft, creamy interior. A little more spice would have elevated the dish, but combined with the dipping sauce they were very moorish. The Plantain Chaat was the highlight for me. A generous portion of well spiced chickpeas, papdi and unusual additions of quinoa, cashew tuille and tamarin caramel added up to a dish with enticing flavours and textures.
For main, the Masala jackfruit rosti was a well spiced dish and inspired to combine it with the crisp potato. My daughter’s burger was juicy and tasty with similarly good fries and coleslaw.
The chocolate brownie was good but hugely elevated by the vanilla ice cream coated in coconut and especially by the passion fruit gel. As you can see in the photos, they are just tiny dots, however, they are so concentrated, each minuscule scraping tastes like a whole passion fruit being squeezed into your mouth, magical.
Looking forward to visiting again. Well thought out food combined with a forward thinking ethos.
Pros: All vegan, Great ethos, Reasonable prices

100% vegan restaurant that do not serve alcohol (mocktails & teas/infusions available). They have a CBD cocktail that was really good.
Read moreThe restaurant looks beautiful -- and we tried most the menu.
The rosemary miso glazed dish was really good -- it felt a bit too "meaty" for one of my hardcore vegan friend, but would totally recommend. They also have simpler options like burgers & thali. Re: appetizers: the Jalapeño poppers, spicy fritters and jackfruit tacos were amazing!
They're also a non-profit business, located below a yoga studio. They are very buddhist/zen inspired which is an interesting experience in London. They also were passionate about their food, so totally worth supporting.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT EVER - Lovely Atmosphere and Amazing Karma-Free Menu! - Edit
I’ve visited Omnom twice now, and I have fallen in love with the menu! The linguine made by the head chef is really delicious! The burger with its meaty texture and scrumptious sides of sweet potato fries are an absolute banger! The drinks menu, with amazing cocktails (Alcohol Free) such as the Passionfruit Euphoria and Lavender Fields are a personal favourite! This whole Karma-free food and drinks is one of the best ways to dine! The experience at Omnom is lovely, with very kind staff members and a yoga studio upstairs with events going on every week for anyone who wants to delve deeper and awaken the spirituality within them! Learning about their ethos, has added so much value to what Omnom means! For every meal we get, a meal is served where it is needed! This restaurant’s charitable work is a standard that all restaurants should try to follow! I can’t wait for more Omnoms to open up around the country!
