Tasty Food, Good Lunch Specials - Edit
More Chinese in style and service, this hole-in-the-wall Thai vegan joint in Chinatown is accessible via a cigarette smoke-pervaded stairwell on the second floor. So glad I persisted - the food is delicious, lunch specials at $13.50 varied and filling.
Read moreThe Spicy Mango Curry (choice of protein, I opted for chick’un) comes with zucchini, squash, red pepper, onion, rice and a couple of delicious little dumplings; also a miniature tom yum soup on the side, so sweet that it could have counted as dessert.
I also tried the Pad Kee Mao with eggplant (choice of protein again, this time I opted for the tofu) - also delicious, if too much oil and not enough veggies. The meal did not arrive with ‘soup of the day’ or jasmine tea (which I wasn’t aware comprised components until today), so make sure you request these specifically or you may miss half the meal.

Pros: Delicious tasty meals, Good value Lunch Specials, Oriental backstreet charm vibes
Cons: Smoky stairwell, though kinda adds to ruticness, Service a bit hit and miss, but reasonable, Lunch specials - extras (eg tea) often forgotten

Great veg menu! - Edit
Walking around Chinatown was a highlight of my Boston trip, and this was a great stop! The iced coffee, wontons, and hot and sour soup were all great. Ordering pad thai was probably a mistake - not as adventurous as I should have been - but it was good, it a bit bland. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere felt a lot more authentic than other places in Boston.

Dull and Tired - Edit
This place has been here forever. Unfortunately, the food, while 100 percent vegan, is unimaginative and very salty. Every dish, including the hot and sour soup, seems to originate from the same brown sauce base.

Hole in the wall GEM!!! - Edit
Straight up: shabby surroundings. It’s old and run down. BUT THE FOOD…. SOOOO good! One of those hidden treasures. IYKYK. Don’t go here for a romantic date looking for “ambiance.” Do go if you want bomb vegan food, period.

Bad service + okay food - Edit
They never came over to tell me today they didn’t have the ingredients for my dish. Sat there for 20 mins while they kept saying “one more minute.” Finally, I had to go to them and they told me to order something else. Food was only okay.

Amazing food - Edit
I understand some of the lower scores for the service (friendly but frantic) and state of the bathrooms (clean on the parts that mattered but…)
Read moreAll of that said… omg the FOOD! Love having a vegan menu, love the options to go fake meat or tofu, loved everything we ordered.
To me this place follows the rule that you can get the best food from the least auspicious-looking places.

Quick vegan Thai - Edit
We had a great meal here. Don’t let the entrance and stairs, which are very shabby and grubby, put you off ! Go up the stairs and into a very plain dining area. It’s a no-frills place. Everything is vegan, quite a lot of mock-meat but plenty of other dishes as well. Huge portions. Service very quick and to the point. Iced water brought immediately and topped up through the meal. Delicious food. Very good value. Definitely recommend if you want a quick no frills vegan meal. Please note not any good for gluten free options though.

Tasty options - Edit
Surprisingly delicious - they successfully recreated many Thai classics (pad Thai, etc) plant based with no loss of flavor. Chicken fingers were tasty but in retrospect a bit disappointing - only tofu with breading, would love to have seen them try some experiments with mushrooms. Nonetheless very solid spot and large, ambitious menu.

So many things to choose from, I wish I could’ve tried more! The pad kee mao was so good, and I’m picky with my drunken noodle. The dumplings were also excellent. Cool interior, too.

Made a point of visiting here while in Boston for the marathon. Everything we tried was really tasty but a special mention needs to be made for the Tamarind duck which was so so good. Highly recommend visiting this place.

Delicious food! - Edit
The food here is incredible and the menu is extensive! The stairwell/building that you have to go through to get there isn't the nicest/cleanest, but the inside of the restaurant itself is nice and the food is so good. I highly recommend it. The service was also great.

I really like this place and was happy they were open on Christmas! The staircase to get up is a bit sketchy and the service left a bit to be desired but the food is excellent and the menu is expansive.

Not what I hoped - Edit
Was really hoping this place was good as the menu looked good.
Read moreVery big menu. Ordered 2 apps, leek pancakes and some sort of wonton. both came out warm, but not hot. Taste was decent, but not great. Plates looked like they hadn’t been washed well. Mains were two types of curry. Again, warm but not hot when they came out. Flavorless and lacking in presentation..
My husband got really sick and was throwing up for several hours that night.
The bathroom was an absolute mess…so many stains and half the ceiling was missing?!
Overall we were very disappointed for the amount of money we spent. Would not go again.

Good food and lunch menu is affordable - Edit
We ordered the lunch menu, which comes with a small soup, 2 deep fried dumplings and a main. It should also come with tee, but they forgot to give us our tee. The food is good but a bit cold. I would not recommend the veggie chicken.

Decent food served quickly, looking good and tasting good. Friendly staff. I most enjoyed the second storey panoramic neighborhood views on this early fall afternoon with the windows open and the restaurant’s many plants swaying.
