vegan ICE CREAM !!!! - Edit
When I have the chance to get vegan ice cream (other than sorbet) I usually take it. And this place is 100% vegan.
Read moreI was walking at the nice river and saw it on happy cow so of course I went there.
As I am a big gourmand I tried two ice cream sandwiches (small and delicious) and also „had“ to take some of the cakes (would have loved to try them all but this was even for me too much as there were 10 different styles)… so I took three. Delicious! Prices for the cakes are really ok I would say. (550 p.p.), the ice cream sandwiches are 600 each.

Both and cake and tea was delicious. The Café has a beautiful esthetic and vibe. Relaxing indie/folk music as well. Perfect spot for a treat, to read a book, and to hide away from the rain.

They are vegan, so that’s a plus. The cakes were fine. I tried to order a glass of hot plant based milk I was craving for but that wasn’t possible. I think however they must have plant based milk for coffee latte. I ordered tea, but it was undrinkable because when it arrived there’s a giant tea bag already in the tea. By the time I got the tea and noticed it was undrinkable strong and bitter. The Rooibos is a better choice… Must be OK if you immediately take care of the tea bag; my attention was on the cake and the plates everyone received.

There aren't so much options in Arashiyama area and this place is open until later than restaurants. The cherry cake was good and the place is beautiful, with a really big window that let you enjoy the sight of the street.

Probably the best cake I've had, it was the tofu chocolate cake. Not too sweet, cold so yummy. I decided to take it away as it was basically half the price to take away. Definitely have to try if you are at the Forrest/ monkeys.
