It’s good but..

I definitely ordered wrong.. and too much, but what else is new. The meal started out strong.. edamame was nicely seasoned and the miso soup is vegan! However the veg sushi roll I got came out with mayo, even though it is not listed as an ingredient AND I explicitly said no mayo. A manager type came over at first and said don’t worry, it’s not eggs! So I asked well what’s it made outta then, so he showed me the recipe and it’s cream! I also got the vegan scallops which are just mushrooms with veggies and it was so, so oily. Next time I know!

Would give 3.5, solid and good Japanese place

Overall a very nice restaurant. My waiter didnt know “vegan” but the kitchen staff did:) I had the edamame as a starter (craved it but was like 700🫠) and the vegan udon ramen with miso broth (very rich in flavour) aswell as tofu added and veg tempura (would leave that out honestly, for 300 extra not so crazy good) But they did also serve me a free vegan (potato) welcoming snack, and the staff overall is very nice. Would give 3.5 only because it is very pricey, but maybe i’d try the vegan sushi here. The ramen broth was pretty authentic to the real japanese one too. But I stayed here for quite a while and was the only guest (probably bc of the price)

Pros: Nice atmosphere , free snack

Cons: not labeld vegan (expect one)

Delicious

Stumbled upon this place by accident and what a happy surprise! There are a lot of vegan options - a couple of different sushi choices, ramen, noodle dishes & sides such as gyoza and ginger tofu.
Staff are very polite and attentive.
It's pricey (for Kathmandu) but worth it for the experience and quality of food.
