Non-profit public cafeteria serving sustainable and affordable healthy food. A menu of fifteen dishes based on an international menu, serving whole foods and fresh vegetables. Lunch buffet on Tuesdays from 12-2pm. Dishes can include lasagna, shepherds pie, dahl, soups and salad. Payment is based on the size of the plate you use. Wow, I feel lucky I work nearby this happy place. They also did a lunch for my colleagues, who were very positive about it and we will order from them again. Today I did take away for 8 euro’s; loved it!

What a great place! Servings from the buffet for a very small price with the option of adding a solidarity tip. we were late on Friday so the buffet had limited offerings but enough to have a healthy and tasty dinner.

I wish I discovered this place sooner! Their last day on this location will be 30 December and then they’ll evaluate and look for a new location.
Read moreThe food is very affordable and sooo good! Especially the lasagne with cream sauce, chickpeas and spinach. The best I’ve had! But their other foods, like chili sin carne and oven-baked veggies are also tasty. I also tried the apple/red beet smoothie, which was good as well.
The staff is also very nice.

Lekker gegeten. Een bord vol voor 8 euro. Aardige dame in de bediening. Keuze uit meerdere gerechten die op je bord geschept worden en daarna opgewarmd id oven. Je kunt kiezen uit 3 formaat borden.

Very convenient, cheap and tasty. What a great project supported by the municipality, trying to make healthy food accessible and affordable. So if you have the means, donate money for someone else's meal.
Read moreWe had the Shepard's pie and pasta pesto. Both were very tasty.
Take into account that even though it is mentioned as a buffet, the preparation takes a bit of time.

Bij de Volkskantine kun je voor €3, €5 of €8 euro een bord met heerlijk gezond eten krijgen. Je kunt zelf kiezen uit de talloze warme of koude gerechten. Een aanrader voor een (snelle) maaltijd in het centrum!

Betaalbaar en lekker - Edit
Heerlijke gerechten. Je kan de grote van je bord kiezen en vervolgens zelf kiezen hoe je je bord wilt vullen. Alles is lekker en de ingrediënten worden zoveel mogelijk duurzaam en lokaal gemaakt. Je moet geen gezellig restaurant verwachten, het heet niet voor niets volkskantine.
