Sitio chulo - Edit

Hier meerdere keren geweest. Een aanrader! Hapjes delen is leuk! Maar ook een prima burger. Reserveren van te voren is handig.

Their burger was really good, the ketchup sauce was homemade and absolutely fantastic. Bathrooms were not so clean though.

Great place for a fulfilling lunch - Edit
For lunch, I had the spicy jackfruit sandwich with avocado topped with herbs and edamame. Very tastefull, rich and fresh ingredients on a big piece of fresh bread. Also, had sweet potato fries on the side; the best I have ever had so far. Also very nice staff.

Nice and fancy restaurant - Edit
We went there two days in a row. The cauliflower was very delicious. The burger was fine, but actually not as good as the burgers of the other vegan burger places in Amsterdam. The chocolate cake was a dream, 5 stars for the desserts!

Great decor and amazing food - Edit
First of all: I am autistic, and are quite noise sensitive. Unfortunately, many places (also vegan places) have bad acoustic, loud music and noise in general. That often make my experience not so great, when a blender or a coffee machine turns on and off, loud pop music are playing ind the background, or that a bad acoustic does that I can't have a proper conversation with the people at my table, because I can hear all the background noise.
Read moreBut Meatless District not only have a nice and cosy decor; they also have an great acoustic. Even when the restaurant was almost full, I wasn't bothered of all the people talking. I could hear other people, yes. But I could easily have a conversation with my friends, without exert myself
And even the lightning is perfect. No spotlight or fluorescent tube, but nice, warm light.
And not the least: the food is great. I had the faux gras for starter, the roasted cauliflower mac and cheese for main, and the chocolate cappuccino mousse for dessert. All dishes very great, and the menu had some other really interesting offers too.
My friend who had the bourguignon was not that satisfied with that dish, but think that the other dishes was great.
So my final verdict: not only are this Meatless District autism friendly, and a great place for people who are noise sensitive in general. But it is also a great place to get a great vegan meal, and to show your meatloving friends, that you neither need meat, egg nor dairy to get a great meal.
Pros: Autism friendly, Great food

Crazy portion, good taste - Edit
Super cute restaurant off the beaten track, with a great atmosphere and plenty of seating.
Read moreI ordered a dirty chai, which was amazing and not sweat at all. We also got free tap water when we sat down.
I had the complete British breakfast, which was a generous portion. The scrambled eggs had a for me too soft texture - something I’ve never experienced before. It is not bad, but just not for me. The sausages had a weird casing around which was almost like jelly, which was not the best. The rest of the dish was delicious!
Pros: Cozy atmosphere, Good food, Many many options, everything is vegan

Some of the best vegan food in Amsterdam! - Edit
We have been there 3 times and every time it is amazing. The owner, Cathalijne, is absolutely wonderful, attentive, friendly, and kind. We have had brunch, lunch, and dinner and all were stellar. I cannot recommend enough. #Veganuary

A good place to eat with friends. - Edit
I recently had the chance to dine at this restaurant and wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, it was a comfortable place to sit, creating a cozy atmosphere for my friends and me. The food was really nice!
Read moreThe menu isn't overwhelming in size, but I find that to be a positive aspect. It often indicates that the restaurant focuses on quality over quantity. For starters, i had Roti Panisse, which was not only delightful but also free from any disappointments.
Moving on to the main course, I decided to try the "Ultimate no Cheeseburger," and it did not disappoint. The burger was bursting with flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, there were a few aspects that prevented me from giving a full five-star rating:
Firstly, the fries were consistently too salty for everyone's liking. Whether intentional or not, this detail impacted the overall enjoyment of the side dish.
While the staff is attentive, they could benefit from writing down customer preferences. Some of us had specific requests, which unfortunately weren't entirely met due to the reliance on memory.
Lastly, the only downside I found was the slightly higher pricing. While the food was undoubtedly delicious, the costs might deter me from revisiting during my next trip to Amsterdam. Despite my enjoyment, I might opt to explore other options next time due to the expenses.
In summary, my experience at this restaurant was positive. The food was generally flavorful, and the fact that everything is vegan is a huge plus. However, there is room for improvement in various aspects, preventing me from being entirely convinced.

A bit disappointing 😕 - Edit
I had great expectations because of the fabulous reviews, but to be honest the food didn't wow anyone. Some things were overly salty (the french fries that came with the burgers), others were old (the avocado on the tuna tartare). There wasn't a dish that completely wowed us.
Read moreThe people are very friendly, but unfortunately the service is very slow.
The only absolutely great thing I could mention is the interior and the location.

Cons: Dishes are either too salty or too bland, Very slow

Want to like it, but they make it so difficult - Edit
I had high expectations, a little nervous even? - visiting my first all-vegan restaurant. The weather was amazing so we sat outside. The interior is beautiful, outside the shabby chic is a little too shabby, the seating was uncomfortable even..
Read moreWe ordered the cantaloupe salad and the full English breakfast, along with two glasses of sparking wine and cappuccino.
I was so happy we ordered two drinks per person, because they were sooooo slow… we even skipped ordering desert because it took way too long. Also the waiter wasn’t very friendly and polite, and he looked and acted as if he really didn’t like what he was doing.
The food was okay, but not super special. And prices are very steep.
I was stoked going there, it was a special occasion and we wanted a special restaurant, unfortunately this turned out not to be it…
Managers, if you’re reading this; please elevate your menu as it matched the wonderful interior. Also please hire people who serve with a smile and make sure you have food AND DRINKS on the table. The concept is so great and I really want to love your restaurant, but for now I just don’t.

Mixed feelings - Edit
We went here for lunch and the menu reflected that. Typical lunch fare, so salads and burgers, relying heavily on fake meats.
Read moreQuality was good, portions good, so overall we were pleased even though it is overpriced. But hey, this is Amsterdam.
Just seems to be stuck in a time loop. 5 Years ago we would have been over the moon to get this. Nowadays most restaurants will be able to serve you this kind of food.
Service was lacking, they took our order readily enough, but disappeared afterwards, so we couldn't order additional drinks and deserts.
So overall... Good choice if you happen to pass by, but wouldn't make a detour to visit.

The full English breakfast was delectable! I was particularly surprised by the scrambled “egg”, which is apparently made of chickpeas. Unlike any vegan egg I’ve ever tasted! The menu offers a variety of delicious-sounding dishes. I can’t wait to go back and try the French toast!
