Great fusion of flavors

The food itself was very good - great fusion of flavors and beautifully presented. It’s perfect to share. But i found it expensive. The portions are very small, so you have to order around 3-4 and i personally wasn’t full in the end.

Pros: Extensive menu , Really great combination of flavors , Perfect to share

Cons: I found it a bit expensive , Portions not filling enough for me

Particolare e buonissimo

Piatti particolari e ricercati in un locale molto carino. Prezzi un po' elevati, ma vale la pena andarci almeno una volta.

Unique and great dessert

Nice place with only vegan dishes on the menu. From cauliflower mac n' cheese and sliders to faix gras and caviar: this place has got it. Portion sizes are a bit small, so be sure to share and taste everything there is. And definitely don't miss out on dessert! Most of the time: I'm a little underwhelmed by vegan desserts, since the texture mostly seems a bit "off" for me, but not here! Can really recommend the chai spices orange crème brûlée !
The place itself is a bit dark inside but the decorating makes up for it

Pros: Unique dishes, Great dessert

Cons: Long wait for just a drink, Small portion

not sure why this is hyped

i went inside and seated myself, big mistake, they told me they usually expect u to wait and then they give u a table. i felt a little bad and thought i already created and uncomfortable atmosphere. inside it was very full and loud, that didnt bother me tho. its a place u visit with friends and enjoy ur time.

i went for:

Faux Gras 9€
King Oyster Scallops 11,50€

i had no clue what faux gras was and therefore cant compare it to the meaty version, but this was... questionable. the melted butter on top complimented the "meat paste", but it lacked a bit in flavour. the bread that came with it was just toasted to death, not even nicely pan fried in butter so it has a little crunch, no, u could hardly bite it. compareable to rusk. therefore, i asked if i could have some untoasted bread instead. the waiter thought about it quickly, took my plate back to the kitchen but then gave it back to me with some soft, warm, brown bread. so that was that. toast with 2 tablespoons of spread.

now the scallops...??? the purple potato puree was good. the bacon was, too, rather toasted to death than pleasently crispy. without any oil or whatever it had no real taste to it. and i have 0 clue what the scallops actually were, some chewy vegetable with no taste, very confusing. the best part was probably the caviar and lemon oil.

overall, i truly believe i got the worst things on the menu (although even those r praised here?) bc why do SO many people here spend ~10€ on a dish which is 5-6 bites, dry and tasteless? i skipped dessert bc i think i paid enough for this... at least no extra charge for the bread i guess.

Definitely an experience

The food was amazing, loved the sashimi watermelon, the braised artichoke and chai cremee brule. Quite a lot of variety on the menu.
On a spenny side but to be fair, I would say it’s super worth.

Okay vegan food

Went without a reservation on a Saturday night and the hostess was able to seat us even though it was crowded, which I appreciated.
The food was okay.
It's all small plates so you need to order multiple dishes which can add up price wise.
I had the braised artichoke and beet sliders...they weren't anything spectacular.
My husband got the sashimi and the lions mane steak. He enjoyed the steak but didnt care for the sashimi.
Service was also very slow due to any issue with their computer/ordering system so we waited about 30 minutes between appetizers and mains.
The decor is cute.
The server was nice.

Pros: All vegan

Outstanding unique vegan dining in Amsterdam

Our first vegan restaurant in Amsterdam coming from USA. The selection and freshness of appetizers, entrees and desserts, unique ingredients, preparation and taste are all splendid. Portions are small but this is disclosed up front, and prices are very reasonable for this high quality of food. My wife and I are very glad we came here and highly recommend it to vegan and others who enjoy high quality plant based food.

Delicious, but a bit pricy

Came there to try the burger, but they had none in the evening.
Instead, we tried a variety of different dishes, which were all good.

Thus, it is a bit pricy.

Good

4 stars because it is completely plant based. It was tasty but not very special. We had somewhat higher expectations but the dish we came for (lionsmane) is not always available and not tonight either. Furthermore, the Korean fried cauliflower was really not good. It was barely fried and was floating in oil. The place looked very nice and the staff was very sweet. But we would not go there again.

Tasty and more than only fast food

The restaurant has a warm atmosphere with an absolutely friendly stuff. I loved that there was not only fast food, meat supplements, and fried stuff on the menu which is quiet normal at most vegan places.
The food items I ordered were very tasty. The lemon aioli is very good and the vegan Parmesan was the best one I have tried so far!

Great sharing food

Update: Still good as of March 2025. The lions mane special was very small and disappointing for the price, but everything else was very good.

We've been here quite a few times over the years and it's still great. They now offer many small dishes for sharing and their advice to have three dishes per person was good.

We had: smoked aubergine dip (the bread was fantastic), tomato lox (fantastic), king oyster scallops with caviar (good but would be better served more simply without the bacon and puree), bitterballen (decent), smashed potatoes (very good) and roasted cauliflower (wonderful, but strangely named given there's hardly any cauliflower and lots of lovely mac and cheese).

We also tried a carrot margarita and that was surprisingly well balanced and tasty.

Nice setting

Good combinations of flavours.

Update february 2025:
We don’t like the concept of shared dining. The number of items varies with each dish (2, 3, 4, more). Some dishes are good (oyster mushrooms skewers), some boring (mac or broccoli/punpkin). You have to order quite a lot, which makes it an expensive dinner.

Update september 2022: inconsistent. The Caesar salad was way too salt en fatty, as was the wild mushroom chowder. The pees, beans and greans risotto was bland with unpleasant king oyster scallops. We liked the cumin cheese on the cheeseplatter with Max and Bien ‘cheeses’. Our previous review was for the Van Woustraat. Different menu, different experience.

New update februari 2024: we enjoyed the starters: the purple carrot dip and chickpea sticks.
For the mains: Good mushroom dish, tasty but too salt ‘chicken’ pie, creamy roasted cauliflower and Mac and cheese, and a bit standard burgers. The Caesar salad is still too salt and fat. Too much ‘chicken’ and ‘bacon’, not enough greens. The roasted Roseval potatos were great. The fries, regular and sweet potato were really good, but for some of us too salt.
For dessert we shared a crème brulee with quite a dominant coconut flavor, we didn’t taste any chai. The great lemon poppy cake was not on the menu, but should be. The cheesecake had a too strong coconutflavor. Really friendly staff.

Great vegan food

The food is all sharing platters which means you can try lots! Everything we had was really tasty and different to I've had at other places.
In particular loved the oyster mushroom skewers and Mac and cheese

Still nice, but used to be better

This place is semi-chique and offers European cuisine. Please be aware that the toilet can only be reached via a small stair.

They used to serve lunch and course-dinner, but now they only offer shared dining. The prices are quite high considering the small portions, although the food is still nice.
They offer an early-bird discount on food when you book an early dinner (starting time 17.30-18.00). I don’t know if it’s also valid for spontaneous visits, but you can ask.

I tried several items and most of them were good and some were only allright. They have an extensive menu of alcoholic beverages and their cocktails are tasty and pretty. Check my pictures for my experiences with their foods an drinks.

Disappointing

It is rare for me to give a bad review, but unfortunately this is the case. Overpriced, small portions, well presented but not really my thing in terms of taste. Each dish was more something assembled. The service slow and not attentive. We have been left with the dirty plate of the previous dish more than 20 minutes. I left as soon that I can even not ordering the dessert.

Cons: The menu, The service , The price

Absolutely outstanding

I would eat in this place every day if I could. Tapas style plates with sliders, jackfruit tacos which are to die for, artichoke, broccoli miso and many many more.

Really good food and service

Really didn't know what to expect but I liked it a lot. I was surprised by how good the food was! I tried the tomato lox, gochujang cauliflower, jackfruit tacos, celeriac, and oyster mushroom skewers. Staff was also very friendly and quick. I liked that the food came when it was ready, as it's much more efficient than bringing it all at the same time. At first I thought I'd have to order more as some of the portions seem quite small, but I actually overate even though I have quite a bit appetite.

Pros: Very good food, The food was filling, Nice interior

Cons: Cobwebs inside
