Fun vegan options! - Edit
We really liked the Impossible tacos. They have vegan beignets, which were really good and it was amazing that someone made vegan ones! We got the gumbo, which was fun to try as well. It didn't taste like I was expecting, but since I assume they know what the flavor profile should be much more so than I do, I think I just didn't know what to expect. The crab cake is good and fun, but very small and $10. Having previously owned a vegan cafe, I know sometimes this is how it is. You just can't make something the size people think it should be for a price people will pay without losing money. I think this meal was around $50. I would certainly go here again. You find your own table somewhere in the outdoor space. We didn't have too much trouble getting a space for 4 and people were helping each other out in finding chairs and tables.

Great but a bit pricey - Edit
Really enjoyed the vegan “hot” sausage, got this and my friend got a small rice bowl and was about $24 - it was nice, also super fast, but was a bit expensive for what we ordered. The rice bowl was super small but the sausage sandwich came with some seasoned potatoes. So was substantial. It says it’s “reeeeealy hot” too and was very slightly spicy, but maybe that’s just me.

All great but no pancakes😢 - Edit
Love the food but was disappointed to see they no longer serve the wonderful blueberry, vegan pancakes that we always got. So sad that they no longer do breakfast.

Vegan versions of NOLA foods - Edit
Open-air stall in the market with shared seating opposite. Separate vegan menu with loads of NOLA classics. My husband and I both tried the breakfast combo: grits, vegan sausage rounds, vegan eggs, fried bread. We also tried the pancakes and vegan beignets. It was all delicious.

Fully veg menu available - Edit
The green menus seem to have all the vegan options! I had the beignets, which were great, and the okra gumbo, which was bland. I’d come back and try different things next time, since there are so many options!

NOLA’s Best Kept Secret- go here first!!! - Edit
I only wish we would have discovered this on Day 1. Located within the French Market, I knew I was going for vegan beignets. I did not realize that they have an entire front and back vegan menu, including pancakes, Just Egg/vegan breakfast meats, oatmeal and more. Also, vegan gumbo- which I had and thoroughly enjoyed- and vegan crabcakes and more. The beignets were fantastic and my non-vegan partner confirmed that they hold their own against the dairy version.

Vegan beignets! - Edit
This was the only place with vegan beignets that I could find in New Orleans! These were a bit denser than I'd have preferred, but were warm and coated with powdered sugar 😋 Not my favorite vegan dessert I found in this city, but good if you feel left out of the city's staple. I didn't get a chance to try any of the other food here. It was in an open air market with some seating sprinkled around.

Came for traditional New Orleans food made vegan. The gumbo was good, the krabcakes excellent. Came back for breakfast and had pancakes, Just Egg scrambled, sausage, and orange juice. Yummy! So hard to find vegan breakfast food!

Happy that there is at least one vegan option at the French Market — spicy sausage po boy was very good. It was my first time trying beignets, and those were also very good 🫃🏻

so happy to have found this place. it's always tough to feel like you're not missing out on a piece of culture when most local spots don't really know to accommodate for vegans, but meals from the heart gave me the opportunity to try (and love) red beans and rice. thank you!!

Vegan Beignets!!! - Edit
Don’t miss their vegan beignets!! Powdered sugar served on the side, I slathered them with the leftover jelly that came with the breakfast sandwich we got as well, so good!!
Read moreLocated in the covered French Market, tables are available nearby. They have a separate vegan menu with plenty of breakfast and lunch items. We tried the sausage egg n cheese muffin, and the grits eggs and chicken sausage plate with fruit. Both were fantastic, the plate offered quite a bit more food than the muffin sandwich however the fruit cup was very small comprised of one half of a strawberry and 6 blueberries.
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly service, Unique menu items
Cons: Were not accepting cash when we visited , Fruit cup was very small

Great Vegan Beignets! - Edit
Visiting New Orleans on a road trip and searched to find a place with authentic vegan beignets. The beignets here are amazing (10/10), fluffy, covered in powdered sugar, flakey. You get 4 beignets for $7 though which is pretty expensive for the portion size. But hey, at least they’re vegan.
Read moreWe also tried the vegan gumbo here but unfortunately it was a miss (5/10). It was only vegetables, no vegan shrimp or sausage or even protein. It had a few beans but was mostly a spiced soup which isn’t worth it when paying $19 for a large size. Other places like E’co have much better vegan gumbo.
