Dirt cheap & super nice! - Edit
Sooooo cheap for great food. The staff were really friendly, pointed out all the dishes for us & asked if we liked spicy or not. They also offered to heat our food for us so that everything was hot. The best place to go to save some pennies in Chiang Mai.

cheapest and best meaty mushrooms - Edit
Cheap meals (50 baht for rice and choice of 3 dishes) which are super tasty, especially the meaty mushrooms which they have in other vegan restaurants in Thailand but much more expensive. Great place!

Cheapest Eats in Town! - Edit
So many dishes to choose from on white or brown rice for the least amount of money you will spend on a vegan meal in Chiang Mai. They are always happy to see you.
Read moreMust haves: spring rolls, whatever the dish with tomatoes and tofu noodly things is and the MUSHROOM SAUSAGES. Those sausages are unlike any vegan meat substitute I've had. SO good!
I always make sure to come here when on the Nimman side of town as there is not many other options in the area, but just be prepared for them to be closed randomly.
Pros: Many dishes to choose from, very cheap, friendly staff
Cons: not a lot of seating, can be closed at random days of the week

The soups and pretty much every dish we've tried is excellent! Very good prices and friendly staff as well. Only downside is eating in the food court.

Good, Cheap, Thai Food - Edit
One of the better places in town to get 'grab and go' Thai food. I don't recommend sitting and eating in the shared area as it's very squashed and you need to share with other people eating meat products from the other stalls.
Read moreFor a take home place it's great! You can find products that are not all fried such as the fresh spring rolls or somtam. The other dishes are cooked well and not too oily like so many of the other places to seem to be. One of the rare Thai vegan places that I actually like.
Pros: Not oily, Cheap, Huge menu
Cons: No place to sit and eat unless you want to share

While the prices at this place are very cheap in comparison to other vegan restaurants around town, the taste of food was not very good. All of the food is vegan. good to have a place like this with vegan options if you are doing shopping.

absolutely brilliant! - Edit
What can I say apart from this is the best value and the tastiest vegan food I've had in Chiang Mai! 40 THB for brown rice and a choice of two dishes. Lots of flavour! Vegan garlic and chive cake, mushroom 'sausage', tofu 'meatballs', so much variety I've be going there everyday for a week now. Family-run place where they are super friendly with big smiles. It's in the basement of the Maya Mall which is basically a food court so be prepared for places selling meat dishes around you.

Cheap & tasty. Downstairs food court. - Edit
Please note this is in the downstairs, below street level food court, not the upstairs food court.

One of my go-to spots - Edit
Love this place! The staff are so lovely here and the food is comforting and tasty. Sure a lot of it is pretty high in salt and oil but they have a great selection of dishes on the trays and to-order and like most Jay restaurants, it's very inexpensive!
Read moreIf you're a high-carber, ask for "vegan rice" for a large portion of rice :D
I recommend the veg noodle soup, the steamed spring rolls, the spicy green beans, the fried shredded mushrooms (sooo salty but tasty!) and the potato curry.
Best to go early as there will be more food, fresher and hotter too as everything is made in the morning (aside from the to-order dishes).
Pros: cheap and tasty, super nice staff, vegan hangout spot
Cons: sharing the food court with all the meat stalls, pretty high on the salt and oil in some dishes

not good at all - Edit
I was very excited to try the food there after reading so many good reviews and hearing amazing things about it. But I'm very sorry to say it was a bad experience. The food was tasteless, the noodles had a weird consistency and I struggled eating the whole bowl. Usually I eat everything I order because I hate wasting food but in this case I just couldn't eat it up :(

good quick veggie food - Edit
This place was satisfying, tasty, and cheap; perfect for a quick bite to eat. I got the potato curry which was sweet and delicious, with rice, green beans, and steamed rice paper rolls. The rolls were my favorite and the other dishes were delicious as well. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

Excellent Service! - Edit
I ate here a number of times. The staff are super friendly, even remembering your name and favourite dishes after a couple visits. Plenty of delicious variety on offer. If you're like me and like to eat fire, you may want to bring some chili flakes along as the spiciness is a bit on the mild side (probably suited for majority of tourists). Overall a good place to feast.

the absolute worst veggie food I've ever had - Edit
I saw so many wonderful reviews for this restaurant, that I thought I needed to check it out. Unfortunately, the food here was the absolute worst I've ever eaten. Everything is extremely dry and flavourless, and the noodles have a weird goopy texture. Even the rice was over cooked. Sadly, I had to get up and leave my food on the table uneaten, as there was no way I could eat more than three bites. Avoid this place at all costs.

My favorite Veg place in CM! - Edit
Mai and hee brother Me are the most wonderful, kind people I have ever met. They remember your name, and make every visit to their restaurant special. We have become good friends after I have been visiting here for the past 2.5 months.
Read moreThe food is so flavorful and delicious! My favorites are the tomato nam [censored], the massaman curry, the spicy green beans, and the SPRING ROLLS ARE TO DIE FOR. The green curry and all the veggies are also delicious. The food is also so reasonably priced. I always get two or three dishes with rice with 2 spring rolls for 60-70 baht which is unheard of for food like this!
I can not wait to come back to Chiang Mai and eat here again. I wish I could take them back to the US with me.
Love you Mai and Me!

Good food court option - Edit
You can't go wrong with this one - it's fast, tasty, cheap and plenty. The food court itself is not exactly nice, but it's good enough for grabbing a quick bite to eat. Would absolutely recommend this!
