Wir sind ohne Reservierung vorbei gekommen und haben für 2 Personen Abends einen Tisch bekommen. Wir wurden von unserem Kellner gut beraten, was Speisen und Weine angeht. Wir hatten ein mehrgängiges Menü, dass wirklich sehr gut war (regionale und saisonale Produkte)! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Fantastic food and great staff! - Edit
I had high expectations of this place and they were entirely met. Great, bold flavors, good portion size and the staff was awesome. Really recommend this place if you want to eat a bit more fancy or just want an amazing dinner when in Marseille. The cheesecake dessert was out of this world! We shared a starter and dessert and had our own main dish and that was more than enough. I forgot to take more pictures because it was so good. Enjoy this gem!!

Wir haben hier unseren Urlaub verabschiedet und es war ein Fest! Das Essen war lecker, frisch gemacht und schnell auf den Tisch. Eine Karaffe Leitungswasser gab’s schon, bevor wir bestellt haben. Die Mitarbeiter*innen waren super freundlich und sprachen sehr gut Englisch und eine Person sogar auch für uns Deutsch. Das fanden wir sehr zuvorkommend. Die Speisen sind gesund, Bio und ALLE Vegan. Für meinen Kaffee gab’s dann auch Mandelmilch. Geschmacklich einfach total natürlich und sehr überraschend. Die Teller sind liebevoll angerichtet und auf jeder Gabel gibt’s einen neuen Geschmack. Man schmeckt den Aufwand, der dort in der Küche betrieben wird.
Read moreDie Portionen scheinen erst klein, sind aber trotzdem gut sättigend. Die Preise sind auch eher gehoben, aber für die Stadt und das tolle Essen auf jeden Fall jeden Cent Wert. Die Lage ist mitten in einer alternativen, künstlerischen Gegend mit Graffitis und Open minded People mit Links-grünen Tendenzen. Love it!
Tolle Atmosphäre, wir haben uns im Mariposas sehr wohl gefühlt.
Wir werden wieder kommen! Danke für den Genuss und die leckeren Mocktails!
Reservieren ist zu empfehlen.
Die Speisekarte bekommt ist ins englische übersetzt auf den Tisch.

We gingen hier op aanraden van een collega naartoe, die al 3x in Marseille was geweest. Dat schepte al vertrouwen en het eten beschaamde dat niet. Frisse voorgerechten en behoorlijk smaakvolle hoofdgerechten. Ze vullen niet te erg, er wordt gewerkt met veel verschillende groenten en de sausjes zijn tamelijk lekker. Er was nog ruimte voor dessert (altijd fijn) maar die waren wel dermate zwaar dat we die niet helemaal op kregen. Vooral de lavacake was intens en had de helft zo groot mogen zijn.

Great vegan spot! Amazing food! - Edit
We went on a Sunday evening so they only had a few dishes available. We had the vegan burger and the lentil “meatballs”. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Especially the bun was so fresh and delicious. We also had chocolate brownies for dessert.

We are visiting Marseille from Toulon in the next few months to try all the fully vegan restaurants. Our first stop on the list was Mariposas and it couldn't go better. Loved the vibes, the personnel and the decor. We had spinach soup, beetroot tartinade, cauliflower steaks (love cauliflower) with white bean sauce. Very nicely made, warm, and filling with awesome taste bombs here and there. I have to add it here, as I was asked by the chef, I ate the prepared (maybe candied)lemon slice whole with the skin, and it was very tasty. To top it off we had the lemon "cheese" cake. OMG. So yummy. At the end we rolled out and had a nice walk to get back into shape again. Lovely place. Lovely people. Thank you very much!

Read moreI recently visited Mariposas, hoping to enjoy a memorable vegan meal, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the food presentation was appealing, and the starters were fairly nice, the overall experience was disappointing.
The main drawback was the flavour—or lack thereof. Most dishes were surprisingly bland, lacking the vibrant flavours I’ve come to expect from vegan cuisine. For the prices they charge, I expected a lot more in terms of taste and quality.
The atmosphere also left something to be desired. The restaurant felt a bit ramshackle, with cracked and chipped crockery that detracted from the overall dining experience. Given the cost, I would have hoped for a more polished presentation.
Overall, while Mariposas has potential, it needs to improve both the flavour of its dishes and the attention to detail in its service. I hope to see some positive changes in the future.

J’ai récemment visité Mariposas, dans l’espoir de déguster un repas vegan mémorable, mais malheureusement, cela n’a pas été à la hauteur des attentes. Bien que la présentation des plats soit attrayante et que les entrées soient assez bonnes, l’expérience globale a été décevante.
Le principal inconvénient était le goût—ou plutôt l’absence de goût. La plupart des plats étaient étonnamment fades, manquant des saveurs vibrantes que j’attends de la cuisine vegan. Pour les prix pratiqués, je m’attendais à bien plus en termes de goût et de qualité.
L’ambiance laissait également à désirer. Le restaurant donnait une impression un peu bricolée, avec de la vaisselle ébréchée et fêlée, ce qui nuisait à l’expérience culinaire globale. Étant donné le coût, j’aurais espéré une présentation plus soignée.
En somme, bien que Mariposas ait du potentiel, il doit améliorer la saveur de ses plats et son souci du détail. J’espère voir des changements positifs à l’avenir.

They change the dishes regularly so maybe I had bad luck but I did try 3 dishes: ajo Blanco, riz noir and kefta. The ajo Blanco with cashew and almonds was the best of them, but still just a starter and still not worth 10eur. The kefta was fine, although too spicy for me and the dish was only lukewarm. The riz noir dish was pretty basic and small, the sweet potatoes in it were really undercooked, the butternut was not felt, the onion was bitter. It costs 16eur and definitely not worth it. Plus, it took a very long time for some reason, even though the place was still pretty empty when I ordered...

Read moreI was really looking forward to trying Mariposas after having it on my list for over a year but was super disappointed by the food. I may have been open to putting this down to dish selection but I tried bites of every dish on the menu and it's safe to say nothing seemed to tickle my fancy. The dish I ordered was the Tofu and Mash option which had an absurdly vinegary taste as well as no textural complexity - it was all quite mushy.
The other dishes ordered were a cold noodle dish, a vege meatball dish, tofu cashew nut dip, watermelon salad, chocolate torte. Out of the above, the only thing I found appetising was the tofu cashew nut dip with heaps of warm bread!

We loved the Miso-Eggplant starter - very well balanced aromas, just excellent. However, we were quite disappointed by the main plate which was Ratatouille. The Ratatouille was cold, bland and some of the lettuce leaves were rotten.
Read moreIn general, it's a cute restaurant with locally sourced ingredients. It's quite gourmet and the portions therefore rather small. They have a small, changing menu of six starters/dishes. Starters were 10€, mains 16€ - rather expensive for the small portions but probably fair due to quality ingredients.
