Get the pastries over the sandwiches - Edit
We got a few sandwiches and then a savory ham&cheese croissant and a double-baked chocolate hazelnut croissant. The croissants were really delicious. The chocolate hazelnut one is probably a tie for the best pastry I had in Amsterdam.
Read moreThe sandwiches were good but some were definitely better than others (the hoisin seitan one I liked but their fish fillet one was disappointing) and the bread was very soft, which is not the sandwich bread I was hoping for.
The staff was very friendly though, and I definitely recommend the croissants!
Pros: The croissants, Friendly staff
Cons: Sandwich bread

Fantastic pastries - Edit
Fantastic all vegan bakery. I tried a couple of pastries, one had a lemon filling, which was delicious, and the other was a decent cardamon bun. I also had a sandwich, which was tasty and well filled.
Read moreIt is mainly just for takeaway, but they do have a bench (inside) and a couple of small tables outside. Service was friendly.
Pros: Delicious pastries , Sandwiches are good for a picnic , Friendly service
Cons: Limited seating

Friendly service and delicious pastries and coffee. Couldn’t decide between the two Danishes, and the lady was happy to cut them in half so that I could share with my friend.

So sweet! - Edit
I’ve been here the last couple of times I’ve been in Amsterdam and it has been lovely both times.
Read moreBetween me and my partner we have had the katsu and portobello sandwiches, a chocolate almond croissant, a tiramisu danish and a chai coffee cake.
The chai coffee cake and katsu sandwiches were highlights for me, but everything was lovely.
Staff are sweet.
I only wish there was some more seating available.

Amazing, but… - Edit
Incredibly flaky and crispy croissants and pain au chocolats! But to be picky, there was almost no butter/margarine flavor, which I feel is essential for a croissant. It tasted more like oil had been used. Tried the croissants at neighboring Saint-Jean bakery and they had that butter flavor you’re after (the best vegan baked goods I’ve had in a while, definitely recommend). I hope Margo’s can improve their recipe while keeping the flakiness!

Delicious pastries and surprising coffees - Edit
Margo's has been hanging out on my "Go to" list for quite a while now and I finally got a chance to visit.
Read moreThough disappointed by the lack of seating, the pastries really were as delicious as I'd hoped. The croissants are gigantic, and thus impossible to eat in a somewhat civilized way, especially without proper seating. But they are delicious. On site, I enjoyed a cheese croissant, chocolate croissant, a decaf cappuccino and a surprising Jasmine tahini latte. The Jasmine tahini latte had a nutty, savoury yet lightly sweet taste to it and was a real treat I highly recommend.
Since I don't live anywhere near Margo's or anything similar, I stocked up and took a [censored] load of baked goods home with me.
A Cardemom Twist which was just as gigantic as the croissants and delicious as well, a Pistachio Danish which was very puffy and slightly sweet and absolutely delicious, a chocolate cake which was okay but nothing outstanding, an Apple salted caramel cake which I haven't tasted yet, 2 Matcha white chocolate chip cookies which was delicious, and 2 Dark chocolate white chocolate chip cookies which I also haven't tasted yet.
Though expensive, the baked goods are enormous (except the cookies which are rather normal sized).
I really missed a restroom(s) and some comfortable seating... They do offer windowsills to sit on (albeit somewhat uncomfortably) and outside benches.
Aside from pastries, cakes, cookies and drinks they also offer a lunch menu with a variety of sandwiches.
Margo and staff were very friendly and helpful and I will visit again when in Amsterdam!
Pros: 100% vegan, Friendly staff, Enormous and delicious pastries, Very tasty, Surpising coffees
Cons: Lack of seating, Expensive, Take-away only

Incredible food, great people - Edit
I’ve been coming to Margo’s a few days a week for months. So lucky to have such an incredible vegan bakery in my neighborhood. Picking up a croissant here as a morning treat is always the highlight of my day. Chiller, cheaper, and less pretentious than another option up the road.

Busy, but good - Edit
We only tried the pastries, not the coffee. The croissant, pain au chocolat, and the chocolate-hazelnut thing were all very good. Huge, a bit decadent, but crunchy and tasty. Some of them are difficult to eat without getting chocolate all over yourself (especially if you can't sit down).

Pros: Very tasty, Big portions, Nice personnel
Cons: Not really cheap, Lack of seating

Allright - Edit
I went for a coffee and a croissant. The coffee was allright. I’m a little picky since I used to be a barista so it wasn’t as good as I had hoped (the frothing of oath milk and bitterness of the coffee). The croissant was very big with many many layers. For me it was a bit too decadent. I like my croissant more light and airy and this one was quite decadent in a way. I imagine other people will like it. Just not my personal preference.

Wonderful vegan bakery - Edit
Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby, the pastries were phenomenal!
Read moreThe pastry is really flaky and "buttery" in the best way possible. Ended up getting the ham and cheese croissant and a tiramisu Danish, both of which were perfect. The coffee was also really nice, so worked at the perfect stop to grab a couple of on the go pastries.

Great coffee and pastries- visited twice on our trip. - Edit
We went to Margo's twice during our 5 days in Amsterdam. On our first visit we got coffees and pastries (chocolate orange Danish and chocolate hazelnut croissant). The coffees were the best we'd had on the whole trip, so we went back on our final day for more coffees and pastries (chocolate orange Danish and chai carrot cake). We also picked up some of sandwiches to take with us on the ferry home. Opted for the satay and the portobello blue cheese (on recommendation from the server). My preference was the satay but the blue cheese and mushroom was also nice, my partner preferred the mushroom.
Read moreAmazing pastries though, wish we'd given the brioche a try - it was huge!
Super friendly staff! #Veganuary

My favourite place to go - Edit
Margo’ is my absolute favourite place in Amsterdam.
Read moreMy BF and I come by very often; we pick up food and coffee and then go to the Vondelpark for a walk and eat our breakfast on a bench in the park.
We always get the croissants; they are hands down the best vegan croissants I’ve ever had. They aren’t cheap, but they’re huge and so freaking delicious. Flakey, buttery, they are so so so good!!
We also get a danish everytime we’re there, the one with tiramisu is our personal favourite.
They are not cheap (3,- for one croissant), but they’re so so so good so I’m always willing to pay for it.
Pros: Best vegan croissants ever, The food is so so so good, Friendly staff
Cons: Somewhat price (but so worth it), No seating options
