Excelente

¡Recomiendo!!

Lacks vegan options and flavorful food

This is probably the best option in Ushuaia, and it’s a pretty good one, though it could certainly be better. Marco Polo is right in the center of town. It was so close to my hotel that I stopped by for lunch, dinner, and even afternoon tea on every day of my stay.
Their menu has really no vegan options, but in their take out fridges they have a few, like spinach risotto, chop suey, and quinoa with veggies. They also have fruit, fruit cups, and “picadas” or these containers with a quick energy boosting meal like lentils, corn, rice, and sundried tomatoes or hummus with carrots.
On Wednesdays, however, they offer a vegan main dish and soup. I was lucky enough to arrive on a Tuesday to Ushuaia, so the next day I had a tasty vegan mushroom risotto and a tofu chicken noodle style soup. Portions are big and the food was tasty, though I wish it was less carb heavy and had more protein and veggies.
Ironically, none of their salads are vegan, but if you’re willing to wait a few minutes you can ask them to “veganize” any of their salads to your taste. I did this for their colorful salad, containing shredded carrot, shredded beet, cherry tomatoes, corn, broccoli, and a hard boiled egg. I switched the egg for peas and the result was lovely. Most of their salads just have egg or shredded cheese, so asking the kitchen to make a fresh one without is not at all an issue.
They also have vegan baked goods like brownies, alfajores, banana oat cookies, banana berry muffins, etc. I tried their banana berry muffin and it was pretty flavorless. Their brownie however was very tasty. The texture was off—more spongey cake than brownie—but the flavor was good.
Of their take out boxes the chop suey is a stir fry type thing with noodles and veggies. I felt like it severely lacked veggies—more noodles than anything—but it was decent flavor wise. Their lentil, corn, rice, and sundried tomato picada was literally just that. No flavor, no seasoning. It was at least healthy and filling, so I had this quite a few times.
Overall, I would recommend this place just for lack of better options. The staff is friendly and their salad veggies are really fresh. Other than that, they could really improve upon their flavors and vegan options.

Interestingly, the restaurant is part of a hotel called Capitan Polonio, so if you’re vegan, it might be worth staying here for easy access to food.

Pros: Central, Friendly staff, Vegan Wednesdays

Cons: Pricey, Limited vegan choices

Pretty good

Not many other options around the area so I was pretty pleased to find a range of options. Had the takeaway vegan wok which was veggies and quinoa. Not the best but fairly tasty and better than going hungry. Reasonably priced at ARS 175. Also has a vegetarian menu of the day everyday.

Pros: Vegan options

One of the options

Open 7 days a week. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options to eat in or take away, but unfortunately all of them taste not very good. All food missing sauces and spices, everything taste very very DRY. Veg soup one day was full of different veg pieces, three other days just broth. Waiters couldn’t explain why. Lentil burger had to be returned, it was that dry so it fallen apart. But juices and chia drink are very good.

Pros: Lots of vegan/vegetarian options, Open 7-23 every day, Juices

Cons: Overpriced , All food super dry and tasteless

Slow service with limited vegan options

Nice place in a good location, but the food wasn't good and overpriced and the service was very slow.
I hope they do better on their vegan days.

Pros: Location

Cons: Slow service, not many options and overpriced.

5 stars only for fully vegan restaurants

Say what you want about the prices & food quality, but Marcopolo is one of the only places open on a Sunday when all other stores, souvenir shops, and restaurants are closed. That being said, I do enjoy the food here, although the vegan menu is somewhat limited as other reviewers have pointed out.

They have fresh salad, a veggie sandwich, and a variety of smoothies, coffees, and freshly squeezed orange juice. No iced tea, which is fine. If you are into regular hot loose-leaf tea, they have that. Their non-vegan menu is super plentiful, in case you’re traveling with non-vegan family or friends.

The electrical outlet stations are super convenient since they have several on each side of the tables (not all tables, but there are enough outlets since the place isn’t super packed). The café has a nice ambience when there aren’t too many people around. The adjoining hotel serves breakfast on one side of the café until 10 AM or so; otherwise, it’s quite pleasant.

It’s also on the main street and near the port, so it’s a quick walk if you’re planning on taking one of the ships southbound to Antarctica. This is also the only place I know that has soy milk (even the grocery store La Anonima has no soy or dairy-free milk, despite having shelves and shelves of milk). I have no idea where they get the soy milk from, but I'm not complaining!

Vegan options

Simple cafe style restaurant. Has clearly marked vegan option. Sandwiches, salads, juices etc. Ushuaia is not easy for vegans so this place is very useful. The sandwich was bland but fresh. The salads were a better option. The chocolate muffin was also tasty.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan food (vegano ) , Reasonable prices , Salads are tasty

an abundance of options in otherwise barren Ushuaia

It has not been easy to find satisfying vegan food in Southern Argentina. I was happy to track this place down easily and see many clearly labeled vegan options and plenty of charging stations with free WiFi. If I come back I would choose to stay in the attached hotel. I have had the grilled veggie sandwich (they only offer mustard packets), quinoa with peppers, onion, and cucumber, a slice of a sort of coffee cake, and a soy milk latte. I have seen on their menu of the day there is a vegan option which can be hot and there is a veggie burger.

Pros: many vegan options, good service, charging ports and WiFi

Cons: pricey, can get crowded, more cold than hot options

Ushuaia's only option

I ate here a half dozen times while staying in town; it's the only place in town that offers a limited vegan menu. I wasn't impressed when my veggie burger arrived with cow cheese on it, the attitude when I returned it wasn't pleasant either. Very pricey as well.

Pros: only option

Cons: extremely expensive

Very disappointing: No (hot) vegan food on most days

They advertise vegan food in the window and claim to have a vegan meal of the day. However, we went there three days in a row and on none of these days did they have a vegan meal of the day - they did have small and not very appetizing looking sandwiches, which were prepacked in the fridge and very expensive. On the last day, they did eventually create a vegan dish by providing some vegetable fried rice, which was okay, but not great.
As for vegetarian food: We also had filled bellpeppers, which were filled mostly with cheese and tasted okay, but not great.
We also did not like the figue coffee they offer as vegan coffee - it was just black coffee without a milk substitute of any kind.
Also, everything was rather expensive.
All in all, very disappointing.

Pros: central location, wifi, internationally standardized cafe setting

Cons: false advertisement, not actually with a vegan meal of the day,, food tastes average at best, expensive

Some options in Ushuaia!

I've been there yesterday (sunday) at noon. Sadly they didn't have any hot meals (and it would have been nice, it was kind of cold). Even the vegetable soup wasn't vegan. They did have some vegetarian options, but nothing vegan.
What they do have almost everyday are cold options: sandwiches, salads. I had a nice salad, some fruit for dessert and a drink. All in all it's not that expensive, considering that Ushuaia IS an expensive city.

Note: They do have a full vegan menu but only on wednesdays!

Pros: cold vegan options everyday, fresh ingredients, nice people

Cons: few hot vegan options

Vegan Friendly in Ushuaia

Marcopolo Freelife is a great spot for vegan/vegetarians in Ushuaia. They have a number of options on the menu as well as premade items ready for to-go (salads, sandwiches, fruit salad). I had the vegan empanadas which were great, highly recommended! They had a soy-based filling, well seasoned. Unfortunately during my visit they did not have vegan bread so I was unable to order a sandwich, and I was told the veggie burgers are not vegan - but there are a couple to choose from for vegetarians (my boyfriend enjoyed his hamburguesa de verduras, although he liked my empanadas more). Licuados (smoothies) are super tasty. Vegan coffee (fig based coffee) was interesting, I enjoyed it. Nice service, good vibe.

Pros: Vegan options, Nice service, Free wifi

Cons: All vegan options not always available

Decent food

This place has a lot of all-natural foods, and several vegetarian and vegan selections. The food is mostly out buffet style a la carte, pre-prepared. There was a good selection of regular meal-types of foods and lots of desserts (don't think any desserts were vegan).

We stopped by around lunch time just to look at what they had and came back for dinner, and it seemed to be the same selection - in fact, the same exact food sitting out the entire time, just some of it sold out. For that reason, I'd say lunch is a better bet for fresher food since they do not seem to replenish for dinner.

Food was ok - not bad, but nothing to rave about. But the employees were friendly and it's a cute little place.

Decent alternative

Decent fast food and already prepared food alternative if you're looking for veg food (basically non existent) in Ushuaia.

It's also a perfect place for someone to work as they offer plugs and chargers in some tables. The staff is really friendly.

A few vegan options

The smoothies (sin leche, con agua) were delicious, and the coffee was decent. Not many vegan options.

Cons: Not all vegan
