Best veg restaurant - Edit
When visiting Belgrade we always eat at Mandala at least one time. Mango sorbet is too good, salads are extra fresh and tasty, love the Thai Mule cocktail! The best main course, hm... any salad, Chickpea pancake, ‘meat’balls with celeriac mash, chickpea fries etc.

Delicious food, lovely restaurant, central location. Helpful staff. The menu is modest in terms of the number of options, but it is very creative and different, and above very tasty

Everything about this place screams healthy, earthly and pleasant. The meals are very well prepared, with fresh and organic ingredients. It is expensive but definitely worth it.

Memorable Meal - Edit
My partner and I visited Mandala a few days ago and I’m confident I’m going to remember this food for a long time.
Read moreOn the recommendations from other reviews we shared the carrot lox, and also chose a baked jacket potato and spinach crepe (all vegan options). The carrot lox was one of the best things I’ve had since going vegan 2 years ago. The other mains were also delicious, and my Omni partner agreed.
We also decided to treat ourselves to dessert and shared a chocolate berry crumble and a lemon tart with aquafaba meringue. Also pretty, delicate and delicious and well balanced flavours.
I would recommend Mandala to anyone, I think even heavy meat eaters could enjoy the food here.
The prices may seem expensive in comparison to other Belgrade options, but for two people from Australia (where dining out can be ridiculous) we thought the price was fine. It was a holiday treat and one that I’m so glad we had!
Pros: Inventive menu , Mostly all vegan or vegan options, Lovely staff and atmosphere
Cons: Possibly the price

Beautiful and delicious - Edit
Definitely the fanciest veg place in Belgrade. Beautiful food and very good staff. The carrot tartine was unique vegan option and super tasty! Vegan items well marked/plenty of them.

Simply the best - Edit
I knew this was a classy joint when the waitress sprinkled a handful of nuts into my empty bowl then baptised my nuts with a delicious carrot and celery soup. This is not something you expect. My spoon was entwined within its napkin, requiring boy scout skills I thought I'd forgotten. The walls here are decorated with hippy aphorisms such as 'I am not what you think I am. You are what you think I am.' I wasn't from the local public health department; maybe they were?
Read moreThis is a lovely restaurant; it feels a bit like being invited to the grown-ups' table. It is elegant, the food is wonderful, the staff are friendly, helpful and charming. Yes, you pay a little more than some other establishments, and they too have the obligatory lift-jazz which to me is a benign kind of Belgrade-tinnitus, but it's worth it. I had the aforementioned soup, a vegan version of Serbian kofta with celeriac mash and a dessert of chocolate and raspberry sorbet which I frankly have not been good enough to deserve. And they sell craft beer. This is the place where, if I were in such a position, I would take a lady if I wanted to impress her, and if she smoked. Simply the best restaurant I have dined in in Serbia.
Pros: Wonderful food, Stylish, but not intimidating, dining, Excellent staff
Cons: If you dont like smoking, find another city, Pricier than most but worth it

Total Let Down - Edit
My friend and I were very excited to eat here based on the reviews of the food. The atmosphere was gorgeous, but the first thing I noticed was people smoking inside. Now, Belgrade is not my favorite city because everyone here is a chain smoker, but I was hoping there would be some reprieve in the vegetarian restaurant. No such luck. We ended up getting our food to go because I couldn’t handle being inside with all that smoke, let alone having a meal there. We each ordered a starter, an entree, and a dessert, and I proceeded to wait outside.
Read moreFor our starters we got the chickpea fries, which were good, and the corn cakes, which we ended up throwing away. They were soggy, and bland except for the overwhelming flavor of bell peppers.
For the entree, I got a chickpea crepe thing, and again, totally soggy and disgusting. I couldn’t even make myself eat it, and it went right into the garbage. She had a mushroom meatball dish and ate hers. I had a bite. It was ok, but not great. Again with the watery mush.
For dessert I had the chia seed pudding, which ended up being my dinner since everything else ended up in the garbage, but let’s be honest, it is really hard to mess up fruit and chia seeds and nut milk. She also enjoyed her dessert, which was a lemon merengue thing.
It was definitely cheaper than a 3 course meal at an all organic veggie spot in the states, but considering it was mostly inedible and the smoke in the restaurant made it impossible to sit inside on a chilly fall day, I would say it wasn’t worth the trip.
I’m glad there’s an elegant vegan place to eat in a city such as this, but the food was really not good. I would love to give some constructive criticism, but I’m not a chef, so I can’t give any pointers on how to improve the food. I just know it was awful. And the smoking situation, I feel like based on the people in this city it would hurt their business if they didn’t allow smoking somewhere, but maybe they could segregate the smokers somehow? I read that they have a rooftop terrace in one of the reviews... maybe enclose that and put some heaters up there and make that the smoking section so it’s separated from the main dining area? Best of luck to this place. I hope they make some improvements.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Beautiful atmosphere, Friendly/Knowledgable staff
Cons: People smoking inside, Inedible food, Expensive for Belgrade

Should be five stars but it’s not fully vegan - Edit
This is upscale dining. Excellent food, freshly prepared and is fully organic. The menu is clearly marked as to what is vegan versus vegetarian.Took a while to complete dinner for four people, but every meal was carefully crafted. The mushroom with brown sauce was great, the spinach salad was piled pretty high and delish, and the chickpea fries are to die for. The atmosphere is upscale. The people are super friendly and proud of their establishment. We were shown a small rooftop deck with amazing views!

would come again - Edit
Went in with open mind due to mixed reviews. Staff not overly friendly, strange how they have pages of spirits on the drinks menu but no soda mixers? Do people drink straight vodka/whisky while eating dinner? Also I was the only person sat outside, wasn't looking my best after having just done a walking tour in the heat & I felt like I was being constantly watched that I didn't take off without paying!! 🤣 Food reeeeally high quality. I had the jacket potato with celeriac mash, mushrooms and caramelised hazelnuts for starter - absolutely beautiful. Main I had the spinach ravioli. Also delicious. Probably expensive by Belgrade's standard but having just come from Croatia, it was probably half the cost of what it would have been there. The above plus rakija and vodka was 2300 din

Cons: Not overly friendly, confusing drinks menu.

Awesome vegan in Belgrade - Edit
We went to this excellent restaurant last night, two vegans and two non vegans and I have to say we all had excellent meals. The mushroom kofta with celeriac mash was fab and my other half had the chickpea crepe which she enjoyed immensely. The service was first class and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Would definitely recommend and if I lived here I would become a regular!

Best vegan food I’ve ever had! - Edit
This is one of the best vegan restaurants that I have ever been to! The food was beyond amazing, the ambience was chill and contemporary. The server was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the menu. He greeted us and suggested we go upstairs to their balcony where there was a view of the city. We had the carrot tartine, chickpea fries, oyster mushrooms and kofte. Probably the best vegan food that I have ever had. If you are in Belgrade DEFINITELY try this place!

Quite expensive for the quality - Edit
Had high expectations for the place but we were a little bit disappointed due to the quality of the food. Note that the menu is wide and most of the items in the menu are either vegan or can be made vegan, so our small choice of the whole menu could have just been a bad choice.
Read moreHowever, we ordered salads with avocado and in both salads the avocado was so raw that it was hard to even push the fork in it. The taste of the avocado was very bitter as well as it is with raw avocado. Quite certain that a chef can understand if avocado is raw or not, for the prices they have in the restaurant the restaurant should probably care more about the quality, too.
Other disturbing issue was smoking inside but for a non-smoker that's probably an issue with almost any places in Belgrade.
Service was good and the place was nice.
Pros: Wide food selection, Nice place
Cons: Questionable quality, Smoking inside

A picky 12 year old vegan loves the food! - Edit
The service is incredible and the interior is lovely and atmospheric, however the food is even better. The corn cakes were like a cloud crossed with a pillow of succulent goodness, and the homemade smoothie and juice selection was great. I would come back three times a day if possible.
