The staff didn’t know what vegan meant - Edit
We asked in Spanish if they had anything vegan, they offered a salad with feta cheese… we pointed that out, and they then offered a sandwich which wasn’t on the menu and which they said was vegan with heura chicken. It sounded great so we ordered it to take away, and realised when we later opened it that it had mozzarella! Luckily we also ordered another sandwich with tofu and hummus which was vegan. It could be just that member of staff but definitely be careful if you go there as things are not labelled as vegan

We had a vegan protein super bowl (very colourful and filling) and a Hot Vegas vegan sandwich, which was tasty and just the right amount to keep me going through a long museum visit.

Everything you need if you’re nearby Retiro - Edit
I’ve been back to Magasand twice now, I ate the ‘veganchese’ the first time and tried the ‘Hot Vegas’ the second. Both delicious, but what made me go back was the attentive staff and warm, welcoming service. Staff are happy to speak English if easier for the clients too!

Excellent coffee place in the Salamanca area - Edit
I only had a Fredo Espresso with almond milk, though the menu listed some vegan food options as well. They offer both almond and oat milk for coffee/match drinks. There are 2 levels inside as well as sidewalk tables.

A good option if you're near the Retiro and don't have anywhere else to go - Edit
I went there a bunch of times but their food is not the best - yes, they have a few vegan options (1 vegan sandwich, a salad that you can build on your own, plant-based milks etc) but their menu is still heavily based on meat or fish which seems a bit illogical to me since their whole concept is a bit surrounding health etc. I would still recommend it for their coffee (1 americano is 1,80€ which is an amazing price for this area) and the manager is very nice😄Also, their terrace is bomb.
