Tasty Vegan cuisine - Edit
Made with Laf is downstairs from a bar and restaurant.
Read moreGo downstairs and order with the chef. They have a separate English menu.
Note: the menu is seasonal and changes every few months.
There is a separate lunch menu and came for dinner.
The drill is you order and get a buzzer. Go upstairs to get a table. Pick up food when ready downstairs to bring to your table.
I went with the most traditional Slovekia dish made vegan...the potato dumplings in a rich vegan cheese sauce with vegan bacon.
It was very tasty yet perhaps a bit heavy.
Pros: All vegan take on cuisine from Slovekia, Friendly service, Seasonal menu
Cons: Food a bit heavy

Amazing food, nice venue - Edit
We visited this place on a few occasions as we loved the food. We had the sour cabbage dumplings with sour cream and smoked bacon and a burrito.

Satisfying fare - Edit
Went there on a Thursday evening, when she unfortunately had only two kinds of halušky and teriyaki tofu. We took the sheep's cheese halušky and the tofu and found both very nice, especially with a beer and a strawberry juice from the place upstairs

Try your "Halušky" - Edit
We visited this place specifically for the Halušky and we were delighted. The food was very tasty and authentic, only the portion could be a bit bigger for us personally, but at least you will have room for other dishes. The place is a bit hidden and more difficult to find, but worth a visit.
Read moreHowever, we found the location in the basement impractical, where after ordering you have to wait and take your food upstairs, so you can't choose seats in advance.

This place is great. If you’re here and looking specifically to try something that’s region specific, they can do a Halusky after 3pm - two varieties pictured here, one with a vegan sheep’s cheese and one with a kraut base (strapacky). Both fantastic.

Open - but no one to serve us...? - Edit
We walked quite a way this evening to try this restaurant, but when we got there there wasn't anyone behind the counter to serve us. We asked an employee at another of the food places who ensured us that, yes, Made with Laf was open, and went out to tell the Laf people that they had customers, but no one showed up. Disappointing...
Read moreLuckily there were other places in the same food court where we could get perfectly nice vegetation food.
@Happy Cow: The option to give only one star really ought to exist. Forcing us to give minimum 2 stars skews the results, and is a disservice to those have actually earned that rating.
Cons: Noone working the restaurant even though its open, Open but - No service, as in none...

Yummy, juicy and filling vegan halušky - Edit
EDIT: I went back after 5 years. The halušky is still great, and now there are 2 types to choose from. But beware: you can only get this dish after 3pm, until then they have a separate lunch menu that does not include this traditional dish.
Read moreThe place is still nice, the food is no longer brought to the tables by the waiters, but you get a buzzer that alerts you when your food is ready.

We visited this restaurant in October 2019. The venue is located in a food court with both indoor and outdoor seating available. This actual restaurant is located underground, so after ordering we decided to sit outside - luckily the weather was still warm enough for that. The waitress spoke perfect English, and was happy to help translate the menu for us.
There weren't many options on the menu, but since I was determined to try out something traditional I didn't have to think much, and opted for the halušky, which is dumplings in a creamy sauce, with grilled tempeh and chives for topping. The food required a little preparation time, but we didn't have to wait there, the waiter brought it up to the courtyard for us. It tasted wonderful! The dumplings were soft, the sauce very creamy, the topping very intense - and it all seemed scarily authentic. I do have a non-vegan background, so I have some faint memories of the taste of bryndza and bacon, two ingredients that are traditionally used to make halušky - and both the creamy sauce and the grilled tempeh were scarily resemblant of the tastes I remember. I never thought I missed any of these tastes, but once we got back home I immediately looked up a recipe for vegan halušky online. It was *that* good. And it was also filling. I'd be happy to eat this course here again if I ever go back to Bratislava :)

hard to find but worth the search - Edit
me and my friend struggled to find the place (should have read the reviews first). the guy at the counter wasn’t very helpful with letting us know how the place works (we were confused because several bars, restaurants seem merged together in the backyard) but the food we were served made up for that ;)
Read morei had a traditional meal with dumplings and „sheep cheese“ and „bacon“ that looked small at first but, boy, was it filling! very tasty and i was glad to be able to try a bit of slovak cuisine.

Fantastic tofu - Edit
A bit difficult to find as Google Maps took me to a different restaurant down the street. Made With Laf is in the basement of a food hall which contains other vendors. The atmosphere was nice and they have outdoor seating, and I was happy to see the LGBT flag flying, making me feel welcome. I ordered the buffalo tofu. Often I find with tofu dishes you get good flavour or good texture but rarely both, and this tofu had both. The rice and salad served with it were a great accompaniment. I also had the last slice of cake left, but made the mistake of not asking what it was (I assumed it was chocolate but it had a cherry/cinnamon/liquor taste I wasn’t fond of). Definitely worth a trip though - a cool place to eat.
