This is how vegan food should be made - Edit
So many good options here, and we got chicarones with salsa, a tuna melt, and the brisket burrito. Everything was super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Delicious food that is sure to please anyone!

Best sandwiches - Edit
I'm not in this area much, but when I am I have to stop here. Top notch sandwiches, friendly help. I've never had a bad item here, not even a mediocre item.

Must-Try Vegan Sandwiches & Decadent Desserts - Edit
Maciel’s delivers LA’s finest plant-based sandwiches with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Standouts include the crave-worthy vegan Reuben and Italian sandwich, praised as "the best ever" by regulars. Don’t miss their desserts—the caramel pecan bar and churro pound cake are heavenly. Friendly staff and easy parking enhance the experience. While the grill aroma inside is strong, the quality justifies a detour. Perfect for vegans and foodies alike!

Delicious - Edit
Maciel’s has an amazing menu of sandwiches. Their meats and cheeses are fresh, home made and delicious! The only real downside is the lack of proper ventilation, so it reeks of grill smell inside. I chose to eat out because of it.

Wish I could visit all the time - Edit
Passing through the area and had to stop as I’ve heard so much about this place. Got the pesto chicken sandwich and blonde bar. The sandwich was amazing, and the bar quite good. Also picked up a side of chorizo and queso to take home. It looked like they had some delicious specials on the board that day too. Everything I heard about it turned out to be true and it was worth the detour to visit.

Maciel’s makes high-quality food with great flavor and texture, freshly prepared. They make one of the better vegan Ruebens we’ve had. Worth a trip to give them a try.

Dang good food. - Edit
I had the Tuscan sandwich. Excellent - maybe a little heavy on the arugula but delicious. The side salads were decent (egg, potato (needed salt), and macaroni (was a little hard)). But the stars were the desserts. Daaamn. The caramel pecan bar and churro pound cake blew me away. They were the stars.

Yum!! We never get to have sammies!! - Edit
This was delish. We got the chicken pesto and the Californian. Chicken pesto was my fave, along with the queso and chips. The queso is more like that one cheez recipe, with cashews and potatos and carrots— you know that one? Aka delicious as heck. But more like that than queso. So happy to have gone here.

Tasty Food + Novel Concept - Edit
I really liked the idea of a plant-based butcher. I wish they had a shop like this near me. I had the “Messy Biscuit” and it was really tasty and well proportioned. The biscuit itself was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jalapeños gave it a nice boost of flavor spice, and overall it had a pleasant, not too heavy taste profile. Highly recommend.

Delicious, gourmet deli - Edit
Delicious sandwiches and sides, like a high-end deli. The pastrami French dip is mind-blowing and the egg salad sandwich is the best I've had, vegan or otherwise. Love the potato salad and the strawberry lemonade is delicious. Lots of baked treats , too. This place is such a gem.

Get The Flores! It’s one of my favorite sandwiches in LA.
Read moreAs for the deli items, I’ve only gotten the bacon and the queso so far, but they’re both good. I don’t even like vegan meat most of the time, but the bacon has such a great flavor and gets nice and crispy. I used it to make the best BLTA I’ve had in years.

Biscuit! - Edit
This was our first time trying a biscuit and the loaded breakfast biscuit was incredible! Very very impressed. The French dip sub was great to try as we have seen them all over LA but of course they haven’t been vegan. Pastrami was legit AF. Great range of take home options in the way of cheese and meats.

Awesome breakfast - Edit
My wife and I ordered Mariel’s through DoorDash for breakfast and were not disappointed. I had the breakfast burrito and cucumber mint agua fresca, she got the Messy Biscuit and cold brew with oat milk. I loved the sausage and potatoes in the burrito and the agua fresca was so refreshing. My wife loved the biscuit and it reminded her of the biscuits her family made when she little. Neither of us were fans of the cold brew, but we haven’t really found a cold brew we like so I don’t hold it against the restaurant. We also got the Reuben for later, but had to try it and it’s one of the best we’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend.
