Look, this place isn’t the spot for a fancy dinner date. But if you want quick, inexpensive, tasty Chinese food, this is your spot. The staff are friendly, the portions are good, and the food is authentic (as far as I can tell by the 10 Chinese grandmas we saw cycling through here in the hour we spent eating lunch—a good sign!)

Mixed feelings - Edit
So the place feels very authentic and their jasmine tea was good. But the food I ordered - fried noodles with vegetables and mushrooms- wasn't great. I felt very disappointed, because i was so hungry and didn't enjoy my meal at all. But my husband had the fried rice and he liked it vey much, so maybe I was just unlucky with my meal.

Cons: Excepts only cash, my food was bland and not good, The place didn't look very clean

So disappointing - Edit
Based on the other reviews we were excited to try their creations, unfortunately it was very underwhelming. The wheat gluten sampler (served cold) and bean curd roll had potential, but the flavor was lacking. The amount of oil might have contributed to to the blandness. We were there close to closing at 3:50 pm, maybe an off day.

Homey Chinese vegan food - Edit
We ate here twice during our recent visit to SF! We loved the food and the service was excellent too. We enjoyed the dumplings and the server-recommended sautéed black mushrooms and beancurd rolls. We visited during Chinese New Year and also tried the “nian gao” which were amazing especially when pan fried at home. The honeyed walnuts were amazing too! We already can’t wait to go back!

Delicious vegan Chinese food! - Edit
Every time I went there, there was a long line outside that I had to wait in prior to eating, which is great, because that means it's popular, but I'm hungry! The location is extremely convenient, right in Chinatown. The interior of the establishment exudes traditional Chinese culture, which I absolutely love.
Read moreWhen I first visited, I didn't know what to order, there are pages and pages full of vegan options. They certainly aren't conservative with their portions. They gave me enough for lunch AND dinner! Everything that I ordered was fantastic, I'll certainly continue to visit when I'm in SF.

Affordable Yummy Chinese Vegan Cuisine in the heart of Chinatown - Edit
Lucky Creation does interesting takes on Chinese Vegan Cuisine. My main complaint was there is too much choice & was sure everything would be great so went with the stuffed eggplant. This came with tofu & bell pepper. All three items were stuffed with Taro Root which has an interesting flavor & texture. The dish was under $9 & had a side of brown rice for $1.95.
Read moreThe portions are pretty epic so bring a hearty appetite or a friend to share or a pyrex to take some home. Lucky Creation is situated in Chinatown on the upward ascent of one of those gnarly hills. Lucky the restaurant is more toward the bottom of the ascent yet after fueling up here you can have some get up & go to further explore the epic San Francisco hills that looks like that were transplanted from a Science Fiction book.
I'd love to come back & explore more of the menu as I understand it Lucky Creation has been doing this a long time so is a veteran in faux meats, mock meats, & seitan long before it was hip as well as trendy for us vegans down for the cause!
Pros: The portions are pretty epic , situated in Chinatown, veteran in faux meats, mock meats, & seitan
Cons: too much choice

My favorite Chinese Restaurant, Ever - Edit
The sushi in a roll that they cut up is simple but so tasty. The dim sum is wonderful. And those two are just as you come in the door, and what I usually get to go. But the menu has a huge selection. I’ve come here at least a hundred times.

Amazing Buddhist Vegan Restaurant! - Edit
I had a heartwarming & delightful experience at this vegan restaurant near the heart of SF Chinatown!
Read moreI was a bit lost at first with regards to what to try, but after receiving some great recommendations, I ended up getting Vegetable Dim Sum and Sautéed Mushrooms & Gluten Puff w/ String Beans on top of crunchy noodles along with a sesame-topped lotus cake for desert. Everything was fresh and delicious, and I can’t wait to return with my family and friends to try more of their tasty food!
The restaurant’s atmosphere is culturally traditional, but don’t let that put you off! It is a culture shock if you’re expecting the Apple Store level of clinical organization. It is instead a wonderfully organic experience, that reflects the history and cultural values of this establishment and its owners.
I hope more people discover this place for themselves and make it part of their life. Enjoy!
Pros: Everything is vegan and delicious!, Incredibly kind people in charge, Reasonable prices
Cons: I believe it is still cash only, but didn’t check

Nice vegetarian spot in the heart of Chinatown San Francisco - Edit
I visited this establishment on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2020, and there was a line outside the door for a table. Being a lone diner, they seated me at a table with another diner (shared the table). That's fine with me, it makes for good company. It is a tradition for the Chinese to eat a vegetarian lunch on the first day of the Lunar New Year, so the place was packed!
Read moreThis is the only "vegetarian-only" restaurant I could find in Chinatown and I was glad to discover it. I ordered #16 from the menu (see photo) and loved it.
For the food I would give this restaurant five stars. I knocked one star off for being "profiled" as a non local (I look American). It was very obvious that the more "local-looking" people were served a different tea (light green, fresh/premium looking) whereas the non-locals were served a brown tea that tasted slightly old. I still gave the server a 45% tip because the food was so good, but being profiled and served a lesser quality tea prompted me to write this with the not-quite-5-star review and a heads-up for others that want to enjoy their delicious vegetarian food.
Pros: Many choices to choose from, all vegetarian, Excellent location in the heart of Chinatown
Cons: Crowded (but that can be a good thing), Locals treated better than non-locals

Plain - Edit
Quite a few options but food was very tasteless. Had a noodle soup and claypot curry. Had to add a lot of chili and soy sauce as the food itself had almost no flavor at all. Everything was very slimy too and the mock meat we ordered at the counter was served cold. Prices are ok but the food definitely below average..

Super Disgusting food&kitchen - Edit
Unfortunately I can’t give one star since Happy Cow won’t let me.
Read moreI’m not one to leave a bad review, ever...even if I had a bad experience somewhere. But this place was so gross, I feel like I have to warn fellow Vegans. We ordered 4 dishes total, hot&spicy soup, chow mein, birds nest mushrooms, faux meat platter. All of which were absolutely inedible. All dishes had a slimy cornstarch sauce of sorts, not even sure what that was. Faux meat platter was served cold, just a pile of fake gluten based meats, cold. Temperatures were inconsistent in other dishes too, some parts were warm, others cold, just too strange.
Again, I’m not a picky eater whatsoever, but that food was exceptionally disgusting, I can’t even describe some of the flavors I was tasting.
Just like other bad reviews have stated. On top of the food being utterly disgusting, the restaurant itself was dirty and yes, the toilets are INSIDE of the kitchen. Wild...just wild!
Just mind boggling how it’s got so many great reviews on HappyCow, Google and Yelp. No idea how a restaurant like this can exist in 2019 and have great ratings with so many truly amazing, classy vegan restaurants with outstanding food everywhere else in San Francisco.

Lucky Creation Vegetarian - Edit
Short and sweet, what I had was average and I think there was a slight misunderstanding. I ordered a vegan beef and broccoli dish, but received a dish just consisting of just broccoli which tasted super healthy. The ladies who ran the business were really nice and the tea served was good.

Cheap & good - Edit
Large choice of veg*n dishes in this Chinese restaurant, where most customers seem Chinese themselves (generally a good sign). It will definitely not be the best meal of your life, the place is not 100% clean, yet the food is good and inexpensive (we had 2 entrées 2 all you can drink green tea for 20$). I would recommend going there while in Chinatown.

Meh - Edit
I’m not a fan of different-shaped, highly processed plant proteins already, and the restaurant made it even worse by serving some items lukewarm. The staff seemed a bit impatient with any questions: I was trying to confirm whether there were any dishes with animal products. (FYI, all of their menu items are vegan.) The hot and sour soup was mediocre and full of thickener, and the kung pao chick’n didn’t taste right at all. After eating there, I didn’t feel well. I will not be returning.

Down in Chinatown, a very special tiny place. Most of dishes are vegan. The lady owner was really kind and so was the service. Really quick and tasty. A lot of people buying take away food there, that’s a good signal for me.
