A great find - Edit
It's another of Brussels' superb vegan eateries. A nice friendly welcome, even though it was packed. Friendly and efficient service, good food and a friendly goodbye from the staff at the end of it all.

Pumpkin spice cake is to die for 🎃 - Edit
I visit them every time I am in Brussels. Such a nice place with original vibe, extremely friendly staff and delicious food. Cakes are absolutely perfect, so is the coffee. It is always super busy (i am not surprised), but it's worth to visit and even wait for a spot. Totally recommend!

Best cake in a while - Edit
I stopped by for a little sweet treat and had the best pumpkin spice cake I've ever eaten in my life, the chai latte was also really tasty. My friend had a crème brulee cake which was also really pleasing

Fig cheesecake 6€
Read moreSeitan bourguignon with mashed potatoes 17,50€

The cheesecake - WOW! I've had so many vegan ones and this one was actually amazing. The fig matches so well.
I came back a week later, 14:36, lunch ends at 14:30. I informed them that I just ran here for a kilometer to make it in time (I thought lunch ended at 15) and so the waitress asked the kitchen if I could still get the offer of the day, and veerry kindly, they said yes! Thank you sooo much for that! I actually didn't know what the options would be before I came but I'd been craving mashed potatoes so this was perfect.
The dish itself needed some salt and tabasco, otherwise it was really good. For the price, maybe add some more seitan because it was 3/4 mushrooms but still tasty.
The tiramisu cake was creamy and sweet. The biscuits either gave coconut-sugar or biscoff vibes, I couldn't decide. But a little caramel-y. Soooo delicious.
And the cookie was the perfect late night snack, really hit the spot with the PB on top. I reaaally recommend the food here.

Disappointed - Edit
I had my expectations high for this place since I had read that it was an award-winning spot, but my Flemish stew was boring (and one of the dumplings was undercooked and inedible), and the orange blossom match was watery and lacking in both flavors. At least the fries and mayo were good. Restrooms are downstairs.

nice vibe - Edit
Lucifer has an unique style to it and seems like a comfy place to hang out with your vegan crew.
Read moreYou order at the bar.
Prices are rather impressive, even though it’s homemade. Matcha drinks are about 7€, cookies and small cake around 5€.
My kimchi egg salad (open face) sandwich with a small side salad was 14€. It was good, but I was really missing black salt (aka kala namak), in my opinion mandatory for every egg-like vegan dish! Would have taken the sandwich to another level :)
Staff is welcoming.
It can be busy, therefore it took some time until we received our order.

Delightful Cafe - Edit
Excellent tasting food, well thought out small menu and brilliant staff. One of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. I went for the pancake stack and the bagel with a few pastries. Top marks for this place and a must visit if you are in Brussels.

Just okay - Edit
It's a lovely spot and the staff are very friendly. However, we didn't love the taste of the food or how processed some of it seemed to be. I didn't mind the zucchini soup, it had an earthy taste that I got used to. The quiche however was made of bits of cheddar cheese that had that rubbery, artificial taste, like it came straight from a packaged grocery store cheese. The sandwich was good, but the cheese also had a bit of a artificial flavor. The potatoes were the best part of the dish, very well cooked and seasoned. Overall, a heavy meal that I wish were lighter and felt more natural, especially considering the price.

Lucifer Lives is good. I’m waiting for it to be great. - Edit
As most vegans living in Brussels will let you know: it’s rare to find a fully vegan bakery around these parts – much rarer still to find a nice and affordable vegan bakery! Lucifer Lives is a nice runner-up to that place, but unfortunately it is still lacking. The menu is very limited (plenty of drinks but only three menu options whatever sweets are available on the counter). The prices will make you double take to check if it’s a typo (18€ for three pancakes and fruit?). The sweets on display are quick to run out and are seldom replaced throughout the day, so be there first or cry there last. The working hours are fairly restrictive. In sum, it’s got so much potential, but the community is forced to foot the bill for the lack of alternatives, again.

Pros: Nice café atmosphere
Cons: Lack of options, Pricey options
Luciferlivescoffee
Thanks so much for your feedback! At Lucifer Lives, everything is homemade with love — we’re a small neighborhood café, not a big commercial bakery. Having a huge menu often means using frozen or mass-produced products, which we prefer to avoid to keep things fresh and high quality. We’re always working to improve and appreciate your support and patience as we grow

Schmeckt leider nicht. - Edit
Sehr schade.

The smoked salmon bagel is excellent, but honestly, I wouldn’t trust the opinion of someone who can’t even recognize amaretto — especially when there isn’t any in the tiramisu.

Great lunch with a good vibe - Edit
Really friendly owners, fresh, tasty and healthy food. My lunch was a bed of smooth houmous, a baked sweet potato with whole chickpeas, I think it had zatar on it and lots of cress. Also a had lemon curd slice, really tasty! I wish I had come here for breakfast too!

Devilishly Good Lunch - Edit
Even before we arrived in Brussels, I knew we had to visit Lucifer Lives - the name practically screamed my name!
Read moreAnd I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Even though I’m not a huge horror movie fan, the interior is super cool and completely unique. It’s a fun spot that stands out from the usual cafés.
They have a small but carefully chosen selection of lunch dishes and some sweet treats as well. I went for the quiche, and since a lot of things were already sold out, my friend chose a baguette. Both were absolutely delicious!
The drinks were also really tasty and paired perfectly with the food. Unfortunately, I was so full afterward that I couldn’t manage dessert - but if I’m ever back in Brussels, I’ll definitely be returning to try more.
A great little spot with tasty food and a fantastic vibe!

Tiramisu muito saboroso! - Edit
Comi uma fatia de tiramisu e um sumo de laranja. O sumo não foi o expectável pois não era natural (mas a equipa informou disso). Já a fatia de tiramisu estava muito boa! Super saborosa! O espaço era muito bonita e uma decoração original.
