So many delicious vegan choices - Edit
We had a wonderful lunch here!! Our group was made up of two vegans, one gluten free and a meat eating traitor. There were loads of vegan options!! Quality of the food was every bit as good as what I’ve had in India. Service was speedy and friendly.
Read moreThey also have a brilliant deli and there’s an Indian supermarket just across the street.

LOVE lilys! - Edit
I’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times now and both times it’s been great - fresh, hot, tasty food, great service and the menu is clearly marked which dishes are vegan or can be made vegan.
Read moreThey also have a deli attached, where you can buy Indian sweets (their jalebi is 10/10) and samosas, bhajis etc as well as a small Indian grocery store where you can buy bags of lentils and other things.
Pros: Tasty food , All vegetarian, Friendly staff

Best Indian Restaurant in Manchester - Edit
Plenty of vegan options! We started with poppadoms and a variety of dips, including a delicious vegan mint yogurt sauce. The onion bhajis and vegetable samosas were fantastic appetisers. For our mains, I had the flavorful dal, and my boyfriend enjoyed a hearty chickpea curry. Although we were too full to try dessert, they had a great selection of vegan sweets. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty vegan cuisine. 💚

Was amazing - Edit
Everything was amazing. The quality of the food the price of the food, everything. Now in just a few years the price has risen 300% but the quality and portion size has gone down. We’ve been going here for years and years but after our last take out bill of well over £100 for just a few items, we’re done. Lost a long standing customer to greed.

Great Indian Vegetarian Restaurant with Deli - Edit
It's best to book in advance because we didn't and they had to squeeze us in between bookings. However, it's completely wheelchair accessible and the staff were really helpful.
Read moreWe ate pani puri and masala dosas. The pani puri were nice, but not as fresh as other places we have been. However, they are also available to buy in the deli if you want to try to recreate it at home. The dosa was delicious but lacking the minty dip. Fortunately, we had some leftovers from our pani puri.
We didn't buy anything from the deli, but there were lots of vegan options clearly labelled.
Pros: Wheelchair accessibility, Friendly staff, Clearly marked vegan on the menu.
Cons: No minty dip with the dosa

We always return here! - Edit
We’ve been going to Lily’s for years since they were a small cafe, lovely to see they have continued to grow and now have a restaurant. We still continue to always get the vegan Lily’s sizzler (the Manchurian is great!) and love the samosas and curries. Most food is available as vegan or a vegan option. A little disappointed this time as they were the only Indian to serve vegan mango lassi and no longer do that. Otherwise, great food, service was ok, quite pricey these days.

Pros: Lily’s Signature Sizzler, Vegan Samosas to take home , Thali Thursdays
Cons: No longer do vegan mango lassi , Staff don’t seem as friendly anymore , Price increased

Loads of Vegan options ! 👌 - Edit
Would be a 5 if was fully Vegan. Definitely worth a visit. They do a lot of authentic dishes including Dosas & Uttapam. They have Vegan Paneer. Lassi can be made Vegan and there are Vegan dessert options and milkshake options.
Read moreWe had Uttapam which was really really good, the Mumbai sanwich which was tasty but could do with more chutney so maybe ask for more on the side, dai puri which was tasty and big portion. The paneer butter masala was disappointing, paneer was good but the curry was not for me, was not buttery at all was more tomato based and lacked flavour.
Overall this place is great for vegans, would recommend booking as it does get busy.

Fantastic - Edit
Delicious vegan food, huge range of options, friendly staff, not too greasy. They do things that are less common to find vegan at an Indian restaurant, like paneer, naan, paratha etc. Also a lovely relaxed place to sit.

Phenomenal- best Indian meal I've had in the UK. - Edit
Everything was amazing the food, service, value for money and the restaurant.
Read moreEveryone who served us was incredibly helpful and friendly. They have an exceptional menu. They guided us through it with ease and patience. They encouraged us to order starters and then later order meals after we were eating our starters. It was a great idea. We had more time to enjoy our starters and process what we wanted next.
Each dish was phenomenal. The variety of textures and flavors was exceptional. My favourite was the filled dosa and the Chaat sweet and sour. My partners was the 'butter paneer masala' (vegan).
I rarely return to a place, but this place is the exception to my rule. I will happily return next time I visit Manchester.

Perfect - Edit
We ordered crispy bhajiya for starters. Huge portion - one enough between two (but we ate a portion each!) then Manchurian cauliflower and vegan mutter paneer (tasted and textured like real paneer) the pilau rice was light and fluffy. The meal was delicious. Not at all greasy. Flavoursome and despite feeling full it was the type of food where you can’t bear to leave any because it’s so good.

Despite the number of great South Indian restaurants in the Manchester area, Lily’s is my favourite. The tastiest food, loads of vegan options, honest family ran business, and the shop to take home cakes.
Read moreFrom my xp the quality is always good but not always consistent - ie you might go once and have the best dish ever, but the next time it might not be as impressive.
Bhel and chana puris are both great options, masala dhosa is good, Punjabi samosas are good.

Cons: No vegan milk?!

Delicious! - Edit
We love this place. We have a routine every few months to stock up with pulses, rice, spices etc at the amazing Asian supermarket over the street from lillys and then to have lunch at lillys. First time back today since first lock down and it was worth the wait. Even more of the menu now vegan. Their street food menu and dosas are amazing. Yum!

10/10 Vegan Indian Food, faultless! - Edit
Wow. OK so me and my partner are staying in the Peak District this weekend and with the pandemic could only get a takeaway somewhere. This place was a 20 min drive from our Air b b but we read the reviews and thought we should check it out. I'm sooooo glad we did! 100%worth the 40 min round trip. Food was amazing, menu is extensive. Highlights - masala dosa and garlic naan. They also do lots of Vegan friendly sweets, which can be hard to come by so we're chuffed with that!
