Regular supermarket chain

This seems to just be a regular supermarket chain, but it's slightly more expensive than a lot of others.

Fun finds

Definitely waited too long to go to a market while in Japan. Stocked up on some soy milk, mochi, ramen and bread for (PB&j)😄my phone was low battery and I spent it all using Google translate for the ingredients.

nice store

they sell soy milk and a some vegan things like alpro. I got a vegan protein milk drink which was quite nice. It’s a big store though with a lot of non vegan things so not extremely easy to find the vegan selection especially if you can’t read japanese

Cheap Soy Ice Cream

As other have stated, this is a regular supermarket but carries a few vegan product lines. I went recently and they were still selling the soy ice cream (for about ¥200 from memory) as well as a few flavours of the coconut ice cream brand, cocofrio. Also had a few different soy milks as well. I didn’t go looking or the dairy-free butter, but as you would expect there are also other vegan friendly snacks and treats such as chips, chocolates and nuts.

Rec: Vegan Butter

yes it is a regular supermarket, so don‘t expect a huge selection of vegan things. However, I live in Osaka for one month now and this was the ONLY store where I could find a vegan butter.

Pros: vegan butter

Cons: it is a normal supermarket, with meat and all

Regular supermarket

A good supermarket, but don't expect vegan and vegetarian options everywhere. You have to know were to look and know some Japanese.

Cons: no separate plant-based section , regular supermarket

Many Vegan Options, Accepts Product Requests

I’ve been shopping at this supermarket since I moved to Japan about 4 years ago. I always thought they had a good selection of plant-based milk and soy meat. A few months ago, I learned that they accept customer requests. Since then, they’ve started selling vegan ice cream, mayonnaise, and butter all at my request. They also have soy yogurt and tempeh available at times. Request slips are available at the entrance.

Hands down, my favorite “normal” supermarket in Osaka.

Pros: accepts products requests, clean, well stocked, go
