Classic spot. Can’t go wrong!

I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten here over the years, but the garlic parm wings are another level. With the sauces too? YUM! Super creative drinks and atmosphere - I really love this place. It’s a good option whether you’re coming home from the bars, recovering the next morning from the same, or just want a nice, warm comfort meal. I’m so happy to have an all vegan brunch spot in the area too!

Pros: 100% vegan, Spunky drinks, Creative vibe

Great place

We came here for happy hour bites, drinks and we shared a dessert. All the food was super yummy, it’s super convenient that every thing is vegan and the concept is super cool. I’ll come back on my next visit for sure

"You're not alone" unless you're disabled.

I’m wrecked by chronic fatigue + migraines, so my partner gets us a lotta takeout + we usually split a single entrée bc $$. Last weekend was our anniversary + we splurged on sushi + pizza + the Mars platter was gonna be the finale, but they refused to make it to go + I ended up heating frozen food in our toaster oven + feeling sad + invisible. There’s no legit reason why they can’t box it up to go. So what if it takes more than 1 box, it’s a $28 menu item + THEY ADD A 20% SERVICE CHARGE ON TAKEOUT ORDERS (100% retained by the house). Why? You just gotta hand someone a box + say byeeeee. 3 stars bc they make thee best cauliflower wings in Seattle + I’d be hanging out there on the reg if I could. Fml.

Pros: killer cauliflower wings, cool vibe, wall of records

Cons: terrible takeout sitch

Hello there. As someone that also has disabilities I understand when you're not able to get a little bit of joy with things that make you happy. We aren't a big fan of takeout for all of our food but there's some we just don't do because the food doesn't travel well. We have tried multiple times to get all of our dishes to go and make them still taste good, but that platter is one that's particularly bad as to go food. We simply refuse to put out food that we don't think is going to be good. We understand the frustration and you may have been ok with how it came out, but overall we had to stop because of too many complaints from other customers. I hope things turnaround for you and you can make it in some time. I spent 2 1/2 years with chronic fatigue that I had to step away from all my businesses so I understand how debilitating and frustrating it can be. Wish you the best of luck finding a solution.

I really appreciate this response. Fair enough. I don’t understand the 20% service charge for takeout tho. GLC does a $1 fee, which I think is arguable but acceptable. 20% feels like a middle finger.

Loved the food and the drinks

Would definitely return to try more things!
Edit: I did visit again for brunch and the options were quite limited. The breakfast sandwich wasn't anything great and the poutine bowl didn't impress me either.

That's too bad about the breakfast sandwich. It's a pretty big hit and one of the most ordered items. Maybe we weren't on our A game that day. Sorry to hear.

I wanted to love it

I wanted to love this place...I really did; all the cool vinyl and it being fully vegan. That said, the portion was underwhelming for the price (it was tasty, though!), they were clearly understaffed and neither the bartender nor wait person was pleasant. I pulled out some Marvin Gaye for the vibe and, even though no one else chose a record while we were there, they only played one side of the album.

Pros: Wall 'o' vinyl

Cons: Small portions

Sounds like a rough visit. We talk to staff about the importance of customer service all of the time so will bring this up to them. The portions were changed last year to be ala carte so people can pick and choose what they want. The cost of running a space like this has skyrocketed. We saw a lot of food getting thrown out when we included the sides with it so we switched to this. Hopefully you'll find if you order a main and either fries or another side it will be back to what it used to be like.

Neat place

What an interesting place. I had never heard of a record bar before. I had the staff favorite cocktail and buffalo cauliflower. Would like to come back next time I'm in Seattle.

Cute but overhyped

Ambiance is great, I've had good luck with brunch. I've stopped going here because the food isn't the freshest.

Pros: Great spot for drinks

Cons: Mediocre food

Such a fun place

What a fun place for dinner and drinks. There wasn’t live music when we were there so you could pick an LP and have them play it for you. We opted to share the Mars Platter which was their 4 flavours of cauliflower and vegan wings, followed by vegan tres leche cake. The cauliflower and vegan wings were good old satisfying vegan pub food. We have never had tres leche cake before so have no real reference for it. But it was a nice vanilla cake made soft and milky. Not overly sweet. We would definitely eat there again if we find ourselves in Seattle.

Pros: Good pub food, Fun atmosphere

Not gonna win ball games

While service was good, drinks were tasty and it’s a cool space, it is waaayy overpriced. This is the kind of vegan food I can’t stand and is the reason why so many people make fun of or avoid vegan food. Almost twenty bucks for a little cheesesteak with a few ounces of impossible beef. If you took a non vegan here they would be like this is why I’m not vegan, it’s double price for half the sandwich.

Pros: Drinks , Space , Buffalo Cauliflower

Cons: Price, Portion size, Small creatively bankrupt menu

Great vibes!

Really enjoyed dinner at this fully vegan bar. Got the sampler plate: chicken tenders were the best, cauliflower wings are good but heavy, brussel sprouts drenched in oil. The Mac and cheeze was delicious but the portion small for an entree.

Sat at the table for quite some time before anyone came by, I actually had to swipe a menu from the nearby bar just to start the process.

Fabulous place for brunch

I keep going back to Life on Mars for Sunday brunch with friends. There's a great menu with lots of options including waffles and pancakes. The Chick 'N Waffles with cauliflower chick 'n and spicy aioli is fantastic. Also love Benny & The Jets and Florentine & The Machine. It hasn't been crowded when I've visited and has had a nice chill atmosphere. Asked to try the tiramisu dessert at breakfast and no problem. It's hard to find vegan tiramisu. Really enjoy it for brunch.

Great food

I ordered the Fiery Chick’n Sandwich with blue cheese sauce Brussels sprouts and the Cauliflower Wings. I highly recommend the sandwich and Brussels sprouts!! The wings were pretty good. The prices were a bit too expensive for the portion sizes. The ambiance is very nice inside. I went on a Tuesday evening and it wasn’t too busy.

solid option in the midst of cap hill nightlife

Good food, casual vibe, great for groups. Personally I don't think the food hits the 5-star mark, but it's still tasty. Vegan egg options are pretty cool; I never had a vegan fried egg with runny yolk and all before.
