So there are so many vegan options it’s impossible not to like this place. BUT! If I’m honest, the bagels are underwhelming for me. I like a crisp bagel - not a chewy bagel. First time I came I got my bagel toasted. This time double toasted! Still chewy. My spouse’s everything bagel was better than my cinnamon raisin, so maybe it’s bagel type dependent? The walnut-cinnamon vegan cream cheese was delicious!

It's a traditional NY bagel/sandwich place that is very busy but that works like a clock. I had the Mediterranean bagel and another Garlic one with Tofu Spinach creamcheese. They were both delicious.
Read moreVegan options aren't clearly marked and if it's your first time there, it may take a while to understand the menu. But all bagels are vegan, so it's basically either choose one of the vegan sandwiches or pick any bagel type with some of the vegan creamcheese options.

The colourful rainbow and liberty bagels were vegan, and there was a good selection of vegan tofu spreads to choose from. We tried the scallion tofu and the birthday cake tofu spreads, both really tasty

This obviously isn't an all vegan bagel place, but by God what an incredible vegan bagel it was. Loads of different tofu-cream-cheese flavours and came out super cheap. Couldn't recommend highly enough, especially for those travelling on a budget.

Overcrowded but the vegan bagels are alright - Edit
It was probably due to the time of day (around noon) but the place was a little overcrowded which combined with the slightly confusing menu made me a little uncomfortable. Plus the staff seemed neither very helpful nor friendly to me but I can actually relate to that. So it's not for the faint hearted if you're in NY for the first time.

They really have the classic NYC bagel shop experience down to a science. The bagels are always fresh out of the oven. Also, there are like a dozen vegan cream cheeses to pick from and they are all delicious. Really can’t go wrong here!

If I could give it a 5 star I would. Great delicious food and a good amount of vegan options . I was worried the cream cheese would have a weird after taste as some vegan cheese do. Nope! It was freakin delicious!!! I had the spinach artichoke cream cheese. Tasted legit and it was so good I went back more than once to try the other flavors . You can also sample. Super quick service and everyone was friendly.

A number of bagel shops in NYC offer tofutti spreads, thus allowing for a vegan NYC-bagel experience. Most such shops offer only one or two such vegan options, some offer a number of tofutti spreads--and some (not all) of them are listed on Happy Cow. This is not particularly healthy fare, to be sure. However, the tofutti spreads are usually pretty good tasting, especially before the novelty wears off.
Read moreThis location does offer a number of types of tofutti spreads. More importantly, the bagels themselves are great; and there are long lines waiting for these classic NYC bagels. There is also a great bagel shop across the street ("Best Bagels") that offers a couple of toffuti spreads.
