Try the French onion soup! - Edit
We wanted to try some vegan French food on our trip, and this is (surprisingly?) one of the few spots in Paris that delivers. Everything was great!! It was kind of pricy but worth it to have that experience as a vegan in France imo. We had the French onion soup, a “meat” dish, and crème brûlée. I highly recommend the French onion soup! The waiter was sort of traditional semi-scary Frenchman (he told us quite sternly not to miss our reservation! lol) but was so kind once we were seated, so we had a great experience.

Not great - Edit
We went here for our last night in Paris (our Honeymoon) based on reviews. They messed up our order, and the food was okay, but rather bland. Not terrible, but I don’t recommend it.

Un des meilleurs restaurants vegan de Paris - Edit
Les plats sont simples mais bons, le prix est resonable, les portions genereuses, bref, une valeur sûre qui a en plus le mérite de proposer une cuisine diversifiée.

Traditional French Food Cooked Vegan - Edit
Had dined here years ago, likely before the Happy Cow app. This is a nice departure from all the vegan fast food that you find in Paris. The pace is slower here and the dishes are thoughtfully prepared. As others have attested, the Onion Soup is good as are the salsa as a main course. $60 euros for three for lunch with coffee and a shared dessert.

Delicious French onion soup - Edit
We loved the French onion soup, which came with the most delicious thick rounds of creamy cheese that was melt in your mouth.
Read moreThere was crunchy pieces of crouton in the soup which added a great texture, and the soup itself was also very good.
The dip platter wasn't as enjoyable, the mushroom pate was a little grainy and didn't have a strong mushroom taste. The artichoke cream had a noticeable pickle taste, the chickpea cream was just hummus (in hindsight it makes sense but I wasn't expecting hummus), and the seaweed tartare was just ok.
The lasagne was ok, not very cheesy (it would be amazing to have the cheese from the onion soup in the lasagne) and a little dry at the bottom.
The beef bourginon wad quite salty, and not a red wine flavour, and the seitan was big chunks and quite alot of it. We chose to have it with potatoes, and it was very good, more like a potato gratin.
The portions were huge, we didn't have room for dessert. The staff were very friendly.

Bien bien - Edit

Indeed, the food is incredible - Edit
The dishes they make are really amazing. The onion soup was divine and so was the stew with Seitan pieces and layered potato. It was really incredibly good! They also have some daily changing dishes that we didn't manage to try. Its really good but comes also at a high price.

Traditional French Cuisine - Edit
I was here to try the traditional French cuisine. I liked the French onion soup very much - it exceeded my expectations by far. I didn't like the seitan bouillon/stew as much - the sauce was a bit too sour for my taste and the potato gratin was too dry. Unfortunately, I can't say if it's authentic and the dish just doesn't appeal to me personally. The servers were very nice and accommodating. We luckily got a table spontaneously for two, however, a queue has already formed before the store opened. It makes sense to reserve in advance. The prices are a bit more expensive than other vegan restaurants we have visited.

Super !

Oh my! A treasure in Paris - Edit
In Paris, it's hard for plant-based diners to enjoy the same epicurean delights as carnivores. So Le Potager du Marais is an oasis. From Bouguignon to shepherd's pie to creme brulee (and much more) it's exciting for visitors and locals to enjoy sumptuous vegan feasts. In fact, the line forms outside the door prior to opening. Reservations recommended.

A gorgeous vegan restaurant with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The place was really busy about half an hour after opening time, so we were lucky to get a table. The staff were so attentive and sweet. The food was delicious. It was really nice to see some French dishes in vegan format. Would highly recommend a visit.

First time having French food - Edit
I never had French food before, but I guess I was expecting it to be better.
Read moreGrateful I was able to get in on my last night in Paris (without a reservation).
I ordered the purée of chickpea as a starter, which was my mistake, because it ended up just being hummus so don’t do that.
My main dish was the seitan bourguignon and I wasn’t a fan of the seitan. It was spongy and on the cool side, while the rest of the dish was warm. I had the chocolate cake as a dessert and it was very rich, but a little chalky.
Happy to see a vegan French cuisine option in Paris, but it wasn’t a place I’d miss or come back to if I visited again. Rooting for Paris to have more vegan options in the future.
Pros: Service was good , Lots of seating

Great service, traditional meal choices - Edit
This place was everything I had hoped for. For engaging with a culture while travelling, sampling the national cuisine naturally plays a vital role. I was worried I would be missing out completely, being vegan, but luckily a place like Le Potager du Marais exists. The person in charge is clearly passionate about veganism and a friendly & knowledgable host. He was nice enough not to switch to english (which happens to me a lot due to my rusty french) and instead was very patient in talking slowly & clearly to a foreigner that was cleary trying😉The food was good, but the service & organisation were exceptional (this place runs like a swiss train schedule). You should definately make a reservation - for one of the seatings of dinner (19h/21h).

Friendly Service & Traditional French Food - Edit
Our experience here last week was fantastic. Staff were incredibly kind and very willing to try to communicate in English (fairly fluent). Call or email ahead for a reservation. Food was quite good, although the special I ordered was not really to my taste. I really can't overstate how wonderfully we were treated here. Fully recommend checking it out.

Not worth the money - Edit
The staff was sweet and helpful and you got the food fast. The main course were okey, I ordered vegetables with tofu and potatoes. The potatoes were really tasty but the vegetables and tofu didn’t have much flavor at all. The dessert, crème brûlée and carrot cake, was good though. Overall it was okey food but I do think it was to expensive if comparing the kind of food we got versus the price. Therefore I will not go back.
