There are so many options to choose from, La Vegan Veggie Combo for one or two is a great way to try all the main dishes and find your favourites. Tasty and very filling, and wonderful that everything is vegan.

Some hits, some misses - Edit
Here’s what I loved, the cabbage dish and the Ethiopian tomato salad, and the couscous . I found the lentils and chickpea curries to be not very flavorful, which was surprising because there’s lots of spices in it, but it was still not something I would get again because the seasoning wasn’t yummy to me. I would definitely be curious to try their mushroom and tofu dishes next time.

I ordered the La Vegan, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Incredible flavour and spice levels were perfect. The presentation was also gorgeous. Very colourful. Will return!

Wish I lived closer to try all the dishes they offered. I got the Veggie Platter to try a bit of everything, my favorites include yellow split peas. There's some spicy items too, so ask for some ice water with the meal, especially during hot weather. The service is really relaxed too, likely part of the culture of the cuisine, so don't go if you expect to be in a hurry.

Finally got around to visiting this much talked about highly recommended restaurant with a friend and it did not disappoint! Still find it exciting and incredible when have so many vegan options on offer. My friend and I decided to share a mixed platter for two as this would allow us to sample a little bit of everything. The portion was huge and even with my big appetite , we could not finish everything! Everything was tasty, freshly prepared and the spice hot onna chilly night really warmed us up.

Wanted to come here for a long time. Drove over an hour through rush hour traffic and arrived hungry. Well worth the effort. Large portions and very delicious. Looking forward to going back.

We’ve wanted to visit La Vegan for ages, and today we finally made it — and really enjoyed it.
Read moreWe shared a combo for two. There were probably a dozen items on it, with a generous amount of each — way more than average for Ethiopian restaurants — and all were delicious. Some of the dishes I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Besides the combo platter and individual items, like ful (fava beans) or scrambled tofu, they also offer “half and half” options, such as cabbage with spicy lentils.
Not listed on the colourful, board-like pages of the menu are several vegan desserts. We had an impressive cheesecake, and there was also orange cake, chocolate cake and baklava.
The ambiance is relaxing and pleasant, and even the washrooms are clean and tastefully decorated.
La Vegan is probably slightly pricier than some other Ethiopian places that populate this stretch of Danforth, but it definitely offers good value.
There have been a few other short-lived vegan Ethiopian restaurants in Toronto over the years, but this one is a cut above. Let’s hope it thrives.

Great order in option for one or two. I usually get two meals out of it for myself.

Stumbled upon La Vegan when we needed a late night eat on my partner's birthday. Such a wonderful place with amazing Ethiopian food. We split a La Vegan Plate and loved the variety. It was so much food and very reasonably priced. $25 for a single portion and $45 to share a La Vegan Plate. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Also they brought over a nice little bottle of sparkling wine and sparklers for her bday without asking which was a really nice touch.

Staff is friendly and food is delicious! We’ve been here more times than I can count. As soon as the food arrives we dig right in and I always forgot to take pictures 😬. If you haven’t been, go!

We both ordered the veg combo and were so happy with the flavors, spices, and the injera was perfect. Next time I think we’ll share a combo and order an appetizer. I love that I can eat Ethiopian in a restaurant that doesn’t cook any animal products. Win-win!!

Tasted very good! Got the Veggie combo, the potato salad and the pesto pasta (warning all of the orders were slightly spicy). Good portion size would definately recommend this place. 😊
