Made with love - Edit
We went for Christmas lunch. We were given 6 courses, plus dessert and coffee. Sweet pure water from their own well. Silvia and her husband are wonderful hosts and we felt included and welcome. The food was delicious and fresh! I couldn’t finish my dessert, but I was satisfied and not bloated. The quality of ingredients was excellent.
Read moreBe aware: You need to call and message/email a few times to get your reservation and also when we turned up the dorr was closed and locked, but they had just not opened it yet. It’s very relaxed and I think that in Italy you need to not expect things to run like clockwork. So try this unique and beautiful restaurant and experience a feeling of being in a family setting. #Veganuary

Absolutely lovely! - Edit
We found this place on here, and wow - we are so happy we went. The lady who runs the place is just adorable. Everything was vegan and we ate everything from baba ganoush to pasta to home made seitan. Plus vegan tiramisu. Just lovely. Moderately prices and well worth every cent. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic and healthy slow food - Edit
Very nice, clean and genuine place.
Read moreI ate in many vegan restaurants in Europe and abroad: the accuracy and freshness at La Fonte is above the average.
All ingredients are local, everything is handmade (I ate a wonderful tofu which melted in my mouth). For this quality the prices are really good.
Take enough time, as everything is going to be cooked at the moment and phone before you go.
We booked at 1.30 pm and left after 3.30. For a complete, delicious menu, my husband and I paid 60€.
The owners are very friendly, give a lot of hints and, together with another restaurant, were the first vegan local in Italy!
We live far away, but will for sure come back!

Lovely Authentic Tuscany vegan experience - Edit
This place is unmissable. Travel as far as you need to get here because you won't regret it. Carve out 2 hours of your day to get the full experience. The wine from their vineyard is perfect.

Great vegan dishes, but a long wait - Edit
The restaurant is like the description above tells an old farm house. There are like four tables on the terrace and some tables inside, the place is not too big. The interior has an alternative old-hippie vibe. When we ate there, there were only three tables in total occupied. There are only the owners (wife and husband) as cook and waitress. The wife speaks a little bit english. She told that they opened in 1992 and it was all-vegan since then. The menu had several vegan dishes. We were really hungry when we went there, so we ordered a starter for each (Baba Ganoush, 4 Euro per portion), a rice dish with vegetables that we shared as entrée (8 Euro) and my boyfriend took as main dish the homemade seitan (around 13-14 Euro) and i had the carrot-mushroom-quiche (around 13 Euro). For the dishes: it was really delicious! My boyfriend said it was the best Baba Ganoush he ever had. The seitan was also great. My quiche was a little bit too salty. But the portions could be nonetheless a little bit bigger. The rice dish consisted only of some tomatoes, peas and cashews (delicious but not as many vegetables as i expected). The old lady was a little overstrained with service. She forgot to bring water at the neighbor table as ordered or it took some real long time. As one other review said, it really took some time to eat there. We got there at 19.55 p.m. and left the restaurant at 22.50 p.m. While the food is really great, i think they cook each dish fresh from the start - which should be actually a good thing - but it takes waaaaay too long, so even i was annoyed in the end (and i‘m normally the patient type). Maybe if they had more staff or would prepare some things beforehand it would help, i don‘t know... When we left, the old woman said farewell to us and shook our hands and wished that we would stay vegan all our lifes. That was sweet somehow.

Best vegan meal in Italy (or ever) - Edit
I came here with my (non-vegan) family and we ate nearly everything on the menu, and all agreed it was in our top meals of the trip. Personally, this restaurant was a highlight of my trip. The location was beautiful, and unexpectedly rural. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The food was absolutely incredible. Traditional Italian food meets the “traditional” whole foods vegan menu. The owner translated the daily menu to English for us and we ordered nearly everything and shared. Everything was delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. They even make their own tofu there, which is the best tofu I’ve ever had! In addition, there was a great variety of dishes and flavours and textures. No gimmicks, just great food and incredible service. The owner told us that her family had opened the restaurant 26 years ago and initially, the neighbours thought they were weirdos. But they are still there and doing an amazing job! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! If you can manage to get there, it is absolutely worth your while.

Best meal in Italy! - Edit
We really enjoyed our meal at La Fonte. Wine from their own vineyard, and really creative dishes. The millet melted in your mouth, the soup was delicious, and on and on.
Read moreI had seen it on Happy Cow before traveling to Europe, and while in a store nearby it was recommended, with the warning that service is slow. Well, that's the Italian way! Everyone is relaxed, so if you go here just plan on that being the event for the evening. Also, I think it's just the husband-wife team so when it's full (it wasn't when we were there) I'm sure it takes them a bit of time. But it's worth it. The place is beautiful, with interesting art, so just enjoy yourself.
Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Hosts are delightful

It's a beautiful drive to get here. The location is lovely, the restaurant comfortable and inviting and Silvia is lovely. She was very welcoming and made us feel at home and her cooking was amazing. Home made tofu, seitan, and my highlight vegan tiramisu that my nonna would have enjoyed. :) We will visit again.

old-fashioned vegan - Edit
I'd recommend this restaurant if you have a lot of time and you do not have a hearing problem. And if you are not too poor.
Read moreIt took us 3 hours to eat lunch here, and that time was mostly waiting for the food. Could have been relaxing if we knew before or if the acoustics of the room was better so that you could actually hear what your company was saying instead of being drowned by the slightly louder conversation of the italians at the next table.
The food was nice, but not mindblowing and after 3 hours we were pretty much as hungry as we were when we started having the lunch.
The prices were too high actually.
The owner (or staff - don't know which) was very friendly.
Pros: friendly, vegan
Cons: time consuming, small portions, pricy
