Not vegan - Edit
There are several Yosiya restaurants in the immediate area. This one next to the skewer place is not vegan. Explicitly told by staff everything has fish or dashi. None of the soba noodles are vegan. If you walk to the end of the block and go left there is a vegan set at the other Yosiya

Good experience for veganism in Kyoto - Edit
This restaurant is not a far walk from Arashiyama Park, so after an active day, it was satisfying to have a large meal of a variety of foods I have never tried.
Read moreMy favorite dish of the set I ordered (which was ¥3000) were the lightly fried tempura veggies. The presentation was beautiful too. This was my first vegan meal for my trip and it has set a high standard.

Solid option in Arashiyama - Edit
This was a solid option when trying to find lunch in Arashiyama between the Arashiyama Monkey Park and the Bamboo grove. You select your options from a vending machine (cash only) to get tickets. There is an English menu beside the vending machine that clearly explains what is in each option, with four or a half dozen options definitely vegetarian and appearing to be vegan. We had soba. There is also self-service water and green tea.
