Mixed Feelings

My spouse and I recently had dinner here. The menu clearly marks vegan options, but a 'vegan' small plate included non-vegan Japanese mayo,m - the staff was accommodating once we pointed it out. We ordered the tofu agadashi, chef's vegetarian platter, and ramen, which were satisfactory, but somewhat bland. Despite the high prices, the service was excellent and the variety of choices appreciated. Overall, a good spot for vegans, but clarity on ingredients and a bit more flavor would make it better.

Pros: Clearly marked options, Service

Cons: Expensive , Bland

Okay option

I was fairly underwhelmed by the experience here. They did have some great options for vegans. I was bummed they no longer have the specialty caterpillar roll everyone else raved about. I tried a mixed seaweed salad with very little flavor and the gourd roll was good but this was a very expensive sushi restaurant for what you get.

Cons: Expensive

Great happy hour, otherwise eh

The kinoko curry, vegetarian kara-age (ask for no mayo to make it vegan), kaiso salad, and drink specials on the happy hour menu are all really good and reasonably priced. The kitsune soba/udon on the regular menu is also great. Go between 4-6 PM during the week!

However, the veggie sushi is all super-overpriced for very basic ingredients/flavors—specialty rolls are $18 and nothing special, regular options just have 1 veggie inside. So, the sushi is absolutely the worst option at the sushi restaurant.

Pros: Happy hour specials, Vegan curry and fried tofu, Creative drinks

Cons: Sushi is expensive and bland, Expensive outside of happy hour, Lack of creativity on sushi menu

Very tasty

Had enough vegan options to choose from, so I didn’t feel constricted. Been here a couple times now and I always enjoy it! Yummy food.
