Cute place! - Edit
Very cute place with even cuter staff hidden in the third floor. We had creamy mushroom noodles set /w miso and salad. Everything was very tasty, i will definitely come back one day! Not much english spoken, but the ladies try their best to explain everything about the food they serve.

Great customer service - Edit
Great customer service, we had a mushroom noodle soup. It was too soupy, and not my style but the miso soup and salad was lovely that came with it.

Quaint place, calm atmosphere, lovely food - Edit
We had the seasonal curry and mushroom ‘pasta’ which were both delicious, flavoursome and beautifully presented. They also have an extensive list of herbal teas which is a win in our opinion. The owner lady is very friendly and attentive. The cafe is on third floor - you need to take a lift to get there.

Great food and hospitality - Edit
It's a little hidden but the food is worth it and the restaurant has a very calm atmosphere which is a nice break from the busy streets below.
Read moreThere were 3 vegan dishes, all of them gluten free as well.
Worth visiting, although a little more expensive than a standard restaurant, but you get 3 separate dishes so it feels like good value.
There was only one person working when we were there, she did both the serving and cooking. We were the only ones there so it was no problem, the service was very quick, but other reviews mention it can be slow when others are there, so maybe try and time it to avoid the typical lunch hours.
Pros: Multiple vegan options, Easy communication, Great location
Cons: A bit expensive

I loved the curry! - Edit
I stopped here for just as they opened at 9:00, on my way to see the shrines at Nara. It’s a short walk from the train station. When you spot the sign from the street, take the elevator to the third floor and enter the Natural Cafe door.

Can be improved - Edit
Although the place and staff were really calm and friendly ,the dish we ordered (mushroom noodles) had a sauce that was too liquid and had almost no taste.

Enttäuschung - Edit
Wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht. Das Ambiente ist nicht sonderlich schön (sehr laute Musik, unbequeme Stühle) und das Essen leider sehr überteuert. Die Portionen waren recht klein.

waste of time - Edit
we went here for lunch because of the great reviews and were disappointed - the whole dining experience felt weird. there is one lady trying to serve and cook and it doesn’t work. we waited 45 mins for our food because there was a couple that had just ordered before us, so she made their food then ours. once the food came it was presented nicely but tasted really bland. we ate quickly because we needed to get to the train station and we stood up waiting for her to get the message that we wanted to leave, after a few minutes of standing she came out and gestures for us to sit back down. so we did, she then spent 5 minutes making drinks for the other couple, also heard her taking a photo of the said drinks before bringing them out to the other couple, she then went back into the kitchen to get our bill and finally we were able to get out of there! the place is pretty dingy and unorganised so i don’t quite understand the hype in previous reviews.

Eh - Edit
The women running the place were very sweet and the cafe itself was very cute and cosy with a very calming atmosphere. The meal itself wasn’t anything amazing and on the plainer side. Somewhat overpriced too, but I guess that’s what you pay to support small businesses with macro organic concepts like this.

Wonderful food and friendly staff - Edit
This is definitely one of the best food experiences I've had on my travels since going vegan. I had the tofu burger set which tasted really nice and the vegetables were very fresh. They also had the best vegan miso soup I've ever tried.

Loved it, super good tofu patty - Edit
After a wonderful day at the deer park, I was in desperate need of some food to get reenergised. Kururu was the best place I could’ve have found, the staff were so friendly and kind, and the food was DELICIOUS. I had the tofu patty set meal, and there was not one single side dish that I didn’t like - I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy with a teishoku (set meal)! 10/10.

Great food, lovely owner - Edit
Lovely owner, very quiet small place but our meals were great! Curry & the tofu burgers were so great. It's so lovely how many owners of cafes are there doing it all, taking orders, cooking what can only feel like an amazing home cooked meal in a lovely little cafe.

Delicious and beautiful - Edit
Found this place through the Nara visitor. About five minutes walk from JR Nara station tucked in a side-alley off the upper aracde pathway (opposite path leads to Naramachi). It's a small place on the upper floor of a multi-establishment building so lookout for a sign (not a storefront) when locating it. Run by two sweet Japanese women who- although they do not speak much English themselves- offer an English menu. I had the vegan cream pasta which was like a a mushroom soymilk alfredo. They served it with miso soup, salad and soy sauce. It was amazingly delicious, absolutely what I needed after wandering around Nara on a chilly late November day. It's medium range in terms of pricing (~1600 for my meal, forget exact amount) but well worth it in terms of food quality, presentation and taste.
Read moreOne possible con- I think they prepare everything as you make it, which means that the food is extremely fresh and delicious, however, it DOES take a while to prepare since there is just one women cooking everything so if you're in a hurry to catch a train or whatever then you might want to consider a different option. But if you've got an hour, it's well worth the wait! (particularly since the restaurant itself is such a pleasant atmosphere)
Highly recommend!

Very Kind Service:) - Edit
This place had very kind service and was a bit pricey, but I ordered the Onigiri plate, which all told was ¥1490, which all told wasn’t that bad considering that I would have given a pretty big tip if I had got that in the states. It wasn’t super organized but the staff was so nice!
