Great for breakfast - Edit
The restaurant is big and located inside a building. They open early which is nice for breakfast and they have lots of interesting options. The bread was super light and fluffy, so simple but delicious. They offer pasta, burgers, pancakes with cream, sandwiches, it’s not typical food but still delicious and a great option.

Greatest first Japan experience - Edit
This was our first meal in Japan and the staff were so warm and polite, set a great standard for Tokyo and Japan. Food was homely and full of flavour.

everything here is plantbased! - Edit
if you’re american, the drink cups are smaller than you’re used to and you may not get a water refill so come with that in mind when u order- I got the Tofu fritters which had a yummy vegan tartar sauce on the side, the vegan Chicken tartar burger which had A plant-based egg-like filling that was like a runny egg, it had sweet and sour sauce which was delicious! the staff was super nice and you can go a far way with communication even if you dont know any japanese if you just use context clues lol
Read morePros: all the sauces on the sides were scrump, a vast amount of options , very clean
Cons: the bathroom isnt inside the restaurant

Good, but maybe not for breakfast - Edit
I really enjoyed the food I had here. It was all quite tasty and the staff were helpful and welcoming. The only caveat would be that I don't suggest it for breakfast for most people. I had both supper and breakfast here. There were plenty of options for lunch or supper, but few for breakfast. Breakfast offerings mostly consisted of coffees, tea, some smoothies and toast, ~¥900 - 1000 toast. This is fairly typical of a Japanese kissaten, so not a big surprisebut also a little disappointing.

Very good for breakfast - Edit
It's great that it opens early. I have been there multiple times. I like the taste of the food, it tastes very japanese to me. I had the cutlets, the pastry with ice cream, the croquetes and iced coffee. The oat milk could be a little creamier, but it was still good.

Cons: The plant milks could be a little more dense

Delicious and comfortable bistro - Edit
Most of the menu is carb heavy like fries, burgers, sandwiches, etc which makes for a comfort food meal. The juices and hot cocoa are also great drinks choices. I have had all of their desserts and the clear winner is the pancakes with fruit as well. Their hours are very extensive which is nice since it is difficult to find a vegan restaurant open before 11am and open past 8pm.

Tasty ! - Edit
The burger was amazing ! We ordered the one with Tatar and every one loved it ! The service super nice and quick. The interior very nice and modern. The only disadvantage the kakigorii - the fruit end so quickly that you end up eating just ice. Not recommended…

Best pancakes! - Edit
My non-vegan boyfriend and I came here while visiting Tokyo. It was crowded but we were able to get a seat within minutes. We ordered the mixed sandwich and I honestly don’t know exactly what was on it but it was yummy. They did accidentally send out a different sandwich at first but quickly brought over a new one when we told them. It also came with fries. We also ordered the pancakes which I had been craving since seeing how popular they are in Japan. They were delicious and I have been thinking about them ever since! My non-vegan boyfriend suggested we go there again our next time in Tokyo. I highly recommend!

Vegan Brunch - Edit
This is a nice place for brunch! I love how free toast comes with any drink that is ordered. You get to pick the spread and the spread were amazing (blueberry, cream cheese, and red bean paste). Loved their fluffy pancakes, iced coffee, and coffee float. We ordered Uber eats for dinner another time and their avocado burger and soy cutlet sandwiches were really good! My kids tried their strawberry shake and iced hot chocolate. One of my kiddos mentioned that the hot chocolate was really sweet. Overall, it is amazing and has a nice calming atmosphere.

Went in May 2024. Was sooo excited to go here for so long, and it lived up to my expectations. Went twice in May and both times were great. I love the screen ordering, because if you want more or something else, you just add it on! We were so hungry after our flight from Seoul, we got soo many things to eat but it was perfect, and we ate it all. I loved the lotus chips and miso burger. Honestly everything was delicious. I really want to go back again on my next trip.

Cute all vegan cafe!!! - Edit
Walked here on my first morning in tokyo, was such a lovely comfy vibe and kind staff. Loved that they had vegan versions of japanese specialties. I had coffee jelly and shiro-noir!! Which I had no idea what it was until I took a bite but safe to say their soft serve is EXCELLENT

Don't judge a book by its cover - Edit
There's a peculiar thing about Happy Cow. The very first photo that the very first reviewer posts, will forever be the photo that a restaurant is associated with on Happy Cow. For Komeda restaurant, that's a picture of a not so tasty looking piece of white bread with cream and snotty looking green stuff in the middle. Even though it popped up on my list of nearby vegan restaurants, I never visited because of that not so appealing looking photo. Luckily, a friend of mine convinced me to go anyway. And I'm glad he did.
Read moreKomeda sells simple vegan food like burgers, sandwiches, toast, milkshakes and salad. My friend opted for the burger, because he eats them regularly and says Komeda makes very good vegan burgers. I tried the "scrumptious grainy salad" which is indeed very tasty thanks to the sesame sauce. We shared a bowl of fried lotus root stems, which were good enough to eat all in one go.
One orders at Komeda using a tablet computer at the table. The tablet can be switched to English and Japanese, so even if you don't understand a word of either language you can order without any problem. Prices are decent and the service of the waitresses was polite and swift. So, don't judge a book by its cover and give Komeda a try. They offer much more than gooey looking food.
Pros: decent prices, simple food done well, good location
Cons: sallad is the only true healthy item on the menu

The toast was super duper good. Minestrone soup was fine. The decaf coffee was super bitter, wouldn’t get again.

Friendly staff but not a fan of the food - Edit
I was very excited to try this spot as I've been having trouble finding dairy free options here in Tokyo. I ordered a burger that came with fries, as did my friend. We both agreed that though the portions are a good size, the food just isn't worth the price you pay. I found my food to be very sour and chewy which I don't love for a burger. The fries were also on the cool side when brought out. I wish their menu had more simplistic options so you could customize more.
