Must try in Tokyo! - Edit
I was tossing up about going here, but definitely do if you can make your way over there! In the morning there's a special with every drink and you will receive the fluffiest Japanese bread ever - worth it just for this. I had the pancakes (very good, not as pillowy as I was hoping), the ham cutlet sandwich (amazing) and the miso burger (not my favourite but my partner liked it). Overall it had a great selection and I would love to try more if I had more time.

We ate breakfast here nearly every day. The dishes are amazing, especially the pancakes! Drinks are also delicious. You get a free delicious slice of toast with every drink! The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Good - Edit
The food here was good but did not blow me away. I get the sweet and sour and the soy chunks with a variety if dipping sauces. The green smoothie was my favourite component of the entire meal!

Relaxing ambiance and delicious food - Edit
Had a Miso burger and the pancakes with fruits for Sunday lunch. The cafe seemed relatively busy but the service was prompt and attentive. The Miso burger with fries was so good that I’d love to try another burger next time. I was hoping to have Japanese fluffy pancakes but it was rather thick one , so that was a bit disappointing but if you’re looking for that kind of pancakes go for it!

Best Vegan Cafe in Ginza - Edit
Everything on the menu is delicious! The hot chocolate is the best I’ve ever had (especially the soy whip), I also recommend the vegetable sandwich, the miso cheese hamburger and the smoothies. Access is great since it’s super close to Higashi Ginza station, there are single seats and sofa seats, it’s open from breakfast till dinner, so you can enjoy a proper meal or just have a coffe (plenty of choice). Definitely recommend it!

Bounciest of pancakes - Edit
Delighted to find this spot for breakfast. I ordered the bouncy pancakes with fruit and they were super fluffy and delicious. The three small pancakes came with a side of berries, whipped cream on top, and some syrup.

Delicious - Edit
First of all, the place is clean with a peaceful ambiance, with greenery decorated on the walls. But most importantly, the food is absolutely amazing. The whipped cream is soft and airy, the ice cream is delicious, and the matcha toast is soft. Although it is pricey considering some portions are small, I would definitely eat here again if I ever get the chance.

Relaxing, Cozy Vegan Spot - Edit
Komeda Is.... [ ]. What exactly is it?
Read moreDelicious? Vegan? Awesome? I think you can put any of these adjectives and it would be fitting for this cute cafe located in Higashi Ginza.
I ended up coming here twice during my return trip to Tokyo. It's a small cafe with a wonderful environment theme and great lighting. Ordering takes place via a touchscreen at your table, and you can adjust the language too.
On my first visit, I ordered their Fish Burger which came with a side of fries. The burger had fishy patty with vegan tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato, and a nori sheet to give it that sea taste. The burger was fantastic and was a huge callback to the fish-o-filet sandwiches I had growing up at McD.
During my second go-around, I had their croquettes and the katsu sandwiches, both of which are hard to find vegan options for in this country! The croquette was hot, crispy, and melt-in-your-mouth good, although I wish the portions were larger. My katsu sandwiches also had great texture and seasoning.
You really can't go wrong with perfectly fried food and Komeda really delivered on these ends.
They have seating perfect for a solo traveler or a small group. Most tables have access to an outlet so you can charge your devices while enjoying your meal.
I will most certainly be back in the future.
Pros: Plugs are available for charging, Nice for single travelers

Desserts and coffee over food - Edit
The coffee and desserts are really good (almond coffee jelly drink, Shiro noir- their signature dessert, which is like a round croissant with vanilla ice cream on top, etc.) I don't like all of the food, but the pizza toast, soy sauce edamame and rice powder French fries are very tasty. The decor of the place is very nice, with a cute nature/trees theme.

Tasty and filling! - Edit
LWow, I really enjoyed coming here, so much so that I came twice in the same day haha.
Read moreI think that the only downside is that the price isn't the cheapest, so it's best to come with a group and share bits and pieces in order to try everything. I tried the mixed sandwich plate, one of the burgers, the tofu (the three sauces/seasonings were very good!), the pancakes with fruit (so nice to have fluffy Japanese-style pancakes that are vegan!) and the "Shiro noir" (a fabulous pastry served with ice cream on top). AND I loved both the hot cocoa and iced one! They were sweet and they had cream and just mmmm...
If I wasn't leaving the country tomorrow, I'd come back haha. Lots of choice, and everything is tasty.

Vegan Cafe in Ginza - Edit
I have been to this cafe multiple times. I sometimes go there to eat breakfast. They have a morning set, which includes a soft buttered bread, soup or spread, and coffee/tea of your choice. Their bread (i.e. shokupan) is really soft. Shokupan is a common white bread in Japan and it’s usually not vegan. It is difficult to find a vegan version of this bread, so I’m really glad that Komeda is has this bread. You can also order a whole loaf of shokupan for ¥350.
Read moreMy favorite dish is their burger steak. It was so juicy! I think even non-vegans will like it. My partner likes their ham sandwich (hamu katsu sando). I also recommend their sweet and sour soy meat; the only thing lacking from it was rice.
They have some alcoholic beverages like beer and wine, but I’ve only tried their fruit cocktail, which was good.
The service was also quite good! And the place was really cozy.
As for the location, it is near the station so it’s not difficult to find.

Komeda's vegan Restaurant - Edit
Komeda is a beloved coffee chain in Japan, a so called 'Kissaten' (Retro Café that serves savory and sweet classics).
Read moreThis place is a fully plant-based version of Komeda with all of the variety.
I had the Tartar Wasabi Burger which was like a vegan fish burger. Really liked the tartar sauce!
Coffee jelly that is a typical kissaten dessert is also my recommendation here.
I also had the tomato berry smoothie that was sweeter than I expected but very recommended.
Definitely coming back to try more.

Amazing Vegan Options - Edit
If you’re in Ginza, you have to try this place! Great vegan versions of popular Japanese food. We had banana milk, coffee, fries with fried tofu, “Pork” Katsu sandwich, and the strawberry whipped cream sandwich. You seat yourself & order via the screen at your table. Gorgeous interior too, faux trees & green velvet seats. Located on the first level inside a larger building. Staff speaks some English as well!

Open early! - Edit
I went here’s twice for breakfast because it’s one of the only vegan places open early. The food quality is really good and I liked that I could order from a tablet without the pressure from the waitstaff. Also took my non vegan sisters here and they really enjoyed it - said their japanese style bread is the best they’ve had! Super close to the Higashi-Ginza station (I used the Hibiya line)

- iced cocoa (note drinks come with a side of toast, make sure to order a condiment for the bread): 5 stars
- corn soup: 5 stars
- pastry with soft serve: 4 stars
- soy cutlet sandwich: 3.5 stars
- tofu fritters: 4.5 stars
- strawberry sandwich: 3.5 stars
- pancakes: 3 stars
I’d recommend everything except the pancakes, it was a little too dense and not fluffy as described.
Pros: Great food quality , Close to a station, Friendly staff
