Bezüglich den Preisen: Wir legen sehr viel Wert auf die Hochwertigkeit unserer Zutaten und ebenso auf nachhaltige Zutaten (wir benutzen beispielsweise Bio-Mehl aus Deutschland) - das kostet leider etwas mehr. ☺️

Worked fine, as we recognized most cats want to be by theirselves anyway and we mostly saw people coming over to them and trying to pet them, some got a little attack as answer 😅
The food is alright, not outstanding, but solid.
Therefore a little too expensive.
The place in my opinion is especially for people / kids who can’t have, but love cats and are willing to spend some extra Euros for that.

I wanted to visit and did not know you should make a reservation beforehand (better do!) but I immediately got a seat and felt welcome. I had a "happy piggy burger" with their home bread as buns, a hot citron and "Tiramiezu" as dessert. It was super tasty and pleasingly presented (the plates are fancied by paws of chili or chocolate powder). Although it is really pricey, I was very satisfied by the visit. The cats may not visit you at the table, but you are allowed to go to them and in the card are even the favourite petting points of each cat listed.

Their scrambled Tofu is pretty good, as are their coffee drinks. The staff is always nice and friendly and the interior is pretty cozy - not just because of the cats, whom to have around is pretty cool too, though.

Wir hatten eine ganz wundervolle Zeit im Katzentempel (in der Innenstadt). Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Speisen & alles was wir probiert haben war sehr lecker & die Portionen waren groß. Es wird sehr darauf geachtet, dass die Katzen ihre Distanz wahren können & der Laden war sehr sauber & man fühlt sich schnell wohl. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Sobald man reinkommt, entspannt man direkt! Und das Essen war sehr lecker - auch schön, dass sie auch auf andere ökologische Kriterien achten (z.B. Erbsenaufstrich statt Avocado benutzen). Die Katzen sind aber nicht sehr verschmust, wo man sich drauf einstellen muss - was aber auch bei den vielen Gästen sehr verständlich ist.

Apart from having a hard time to get a table at this place (we had to wait three days before we could place a reservation!), visiting the Katzentempel was a wonderful experience. We ordered a salad and a Beyond Burger, both of which did not disappoint. Despite only spending aroun 30 minutes there we met almost all of the cats and it was a joy to interact with them. The staff was very friendly and happy to share cute stories about the cats. I'd love to go there again to try out more of their food and get to know the cats better.

Katzentempel is one of my favourite ones in Leipzig.
Read moreIn the evenings it gets very full, so reservations might be required. But during daytime there is always some space to go and have a good lunch. The lunch offers are usually one soup with fresh bread and one main dish (a burger, rice dish, anything).
The menu is quite enough. Even tho right now on their website it is quite short, in reality it is longer. The menu is also available in English, of course, and the staff is very helpful. They offer also a variety of nice warm and cold coffee and tea drinks, plus one is always on the daily offer (when I last went, it was delicious pumpkin spice latte).
I would say the portions aren't too big, but they do fill the stomach. Also they feel light and creative, the sauces are very good.
The addition of cats is just adorable, there is quite many of them, their names are listed also on the back of the menu. They are very friendly with people, but it is also cool to see them climb below the ceiling. And they indeed are just everywhere, there's always one sleeping next to the counter where you can pay later. There are many signs that say not to grab them and they also have another room to go to when they get tired. Surprisingly, the place is very very clean, no cat hair to be seen anywhere.

Read morewe had some hot drinks on a cold winter evening and shared a "Donauwelle" - a cake my boyfriend usually doesn't like. but he approved - i was very happy with that coice! ;)
some cats were curious, others just wanted to relax and i love that this is respected here (kids were a little annoying and getting close to the cats, but, well - kids...)
would come here anytime again and probably try their hot food next time!
