Very good food and nice staff - Edit
Separate vegan menue, including vegan ramen. Very tasty and nice little location.
Read moreWe ordered vegan ramen twice. After ordering the staff asked us if it is okay with egg or if we prefer without egg. We decided to order once with egg and once without egg. Both were very good.
The only negative is the cold AC in the restaurant.
Pros: Nice staff, Tasty food
Cons: Cold AC

Fantastic option! - Edit
Relatively sizable noodle shop in the Shinsekai area. Take a seat along the L-shaped bar counter or at one of the small tables, and skip straight to the last page of the menu to see the veg*n options, of which there are quite a few. I didn't know that the udon comes with some burdock and carrot tempura when I ordered it via QR code, but the staff knew to ask if I was okay with eating egg before starting to cook my order. There was also a lovely fried mochi ball that came in the soup spoon. The broth was full of umami, likely kombu and mushroom derived. The gyoza were also delicious and properly fried. Great option before I had to go catch a train to the airport from Shin-Imamiya Station. Toilet available, cash only.

Awesome Ramen - Edit
Cool little place serving simple but delicious food. They have a vego menu with instructions to tell them if you are vegan and they will make it special without egg. We had the ramen which was super tasty and the vegan gyozas

Tasty but “vegan”? - Edit
I ordered the vegan udon and my vegetarian boyfriend had vegan ramen — the udon was tasty but the ramen came with an egg. If you are vegan I would let them know before ordering!

You need to tell the staff, it's written in the menu now. The waitress proactively asked me about it

Não deixe a aparência enganar, o lugar é ótimo e os atendentes simpáticos e solicitos! Ótimo lugar quando você está viajando com não veganos!

Tasty and affordable - Edit
We we got the vegan udon, the yam with plum sauce, and the soy milk skin sashimi. The yam with plum sauce was the best thing, the slice of lemon was the perfect addition. Udon was good and had some fun and unusual toppings - one seemed to be battered fried carrot and I don’t know what the other was. They were careful and asked if we ate egg or not. Pleasant find ! Affordable and quick service. Cool neighbourhood!

Awesome food (get the udon!!) - Edit
The paprika place is literally just down the alleyway after this place which was closed and we tried this place. What a stroke of luck for us as this place was so good, we're shuffling things to make sure we revisit this place.
Read moreVegan soup udon is a must (crispy rice mochi topping which is uncommon).
There is a "yuba sashima" which we will try which uses soy (will update)
The staff are not English speakers but the lady who served us did their utmost to help and explain the dishes, there is also English in the menu but not the most clear of vegan/vegetarian (so ask).
Pros: Awesome local food, Very local feeling experience , Lots of options and helpful staff

Excellent! - Edit
Really great to have vegetarian/vegan menu with lots of options. I would have given five stars but didn't realise that five stars is only allowed for fully veg places but actually this was better for me as my partner is not vegetarian so caters for us both perfectly.

Vegan and authentic - Edit
We did not plan to go here but the restaurant we wanted was closed and this was a few feet away displaying the happy cow logo on their door. When we went the staff understood we were vegan and walked us through the menu. We ordered ramen (from a happy cow review’s photo) an assorted grilled vegetable plate and eggplant (aubergine) and miso dressing. All were scrumptious. If you don’t like sharing your space with meat eaters, this isn’t the place for you. #Veganuary

Good menu! - Edit
The vegan option was delicious! Tried both the ramen and udon noodle option. Realistically Japan is INCREDIBLY hard to find vegan or at least vegetarian friendly food. It’s amazing that I found a spot in a very busy and heavily meat eating area. If you’re an ethical vegan maybe this isn’t the place for you. The workers were friendly and offered a vegan only menu.

Weird place - Edit
I’m honestly really surprised by the great reviews here and on google. The restaurant is known for their beef intestine udon which I found very off putting. It’s great that they have a vegan menu but it seems antithetical to the rest of their food. I guess it’s fine in a pinch but I got the vegan udon and it wasn’t great, plus I felt nauseous starting about 30min after the meal😒

Decent quality for the offer around! - Edit
Tasty udon in Shinsekai that cares about vegans, so cheers for a local business for including a dedicated vegan menu among a mostly meat and fish-driven space. The owner was welcoming, caring about all dietary restrictions and I've got nothing to complain about.
