Vegan Gyoza - Edit
The vegan gyoza was great and well labeled on the menu! They did serve it on the same plate as my partners pork gyoza (which I don't mind, but some people might!), so just ask for them separately if that's an issue!

Excellent gyoza - Edit
I found two vegan gyoza options that are clearly labeled. They are delicious. There might be more vegan options but it's impossible to tell from the menu. I ordered ten dumplings and a side of rice and that was enough food for me.

5 Starts, don't believe the 4 Stars! - Edit
To be honest those were the most delicious Gyoza I ever bought. The price for the food was fair and for the drinks as well. It's required to order one drink per person, just as in many other restaurants across Japan. The place itself looks amazing and is located in the heart of Kabukicho.

Great vegan course menu - Edit
My friends and I had the vegan course menu (booked in advance) with the all-you-can-drink option. The different gyoza were really good! We also loved the salads, the cold tofu and the noodles. We even had ice cream/sorbet for dessert. It was a really great experience, I would definitely go back!

Excellent dumplings - Edit
We lucked out getting a seat without a booking, but I wouldn't risk it (lots got turned away after us). It was easy to find the vegan dumplings on the menu and they were delicious.

RIP OFF - Avoid - Edit
I ordered ten of their vegan dumplings. I was asked to order a drink as well, so I ordered a drink I didn’t want. Then they brought me 20 dumplings. Apparently I double tapped without realising, which is easy because there is no confirmation screen when you order on their booking ipad. To top it off, they charged me the inflated rate of 2x 10 dumplings portions instead of the rate for 20 dumplings altogether.
Read moreExtremely stupid system, with zero critical thinking from start to finish. I ended up paying almost 3000 yen for extremely average dumplings. Do not support this establishment

Shinjuku Kakekomi Gyoza Kabukicho - Edit
Venue
Read moreEasy to find. Seating upstairs and down. Quite a noisy, high energy place thanks to the staff having a whale of a time.
Service
Very friendly and amped up staff. Drinks were brought to my table within about 20 seconds of making my order. On that note, everything is done via an iPad on the table. To get to the vegan menu, from the top menu, swipe right to left three times and you’ll see a button called “Call for help”. Swipe right to left four times to get the full vegan menu. Note that the “honey” gyoza is a syrup/sauce that’s honey flavoured, there’s no real honey in it.
Food
I rather foolishly decided to order 10 honey gyoza and 10 karaage gyoza. I just about managed to get through them with the help of several umeshu ciders and then the gobo I ordered arrived and I nearly cried. But down they went and I waddled home.
Price
A little under 5000jpy for 20 gyoza, gobo, 3 umeshu ciders. Not bad I guess.

Had a couple of the veg options here:

Honey mustard vegetable.
For the price and ambience worth the stop over. Some might find it off putting reading horse meat everywhere so just a word of advice

Only thing I can add is the “honey mustard” gyoza is made with syrup -not real honey- so it is also vegan. So good!

I love their gyoza 🥟 - Edit
I LOVE this cozy place! 😍 The gyoza tasted fantastic, definitely want to come back! But you gotta be lucky to come in without reservation, because sometimes there is a big line…However we were lucky one time!
Read moreThey have 3 vegan gyoza options and one vegetarian because it contains honey sauce. Two types were steamed (spinach soy meat and spicy soy meat), though the spicy one was not spicy at all !!😁And my absolute favorite was the deep fried gyoza, it was sooo good.👌🏻
The vegan options are clearly labeled on the iPad, but be careful while ordering to press the right button because I almost confused them with non veg ones (i think veg was the green one)
Don’t miss this place 🥟👌🏻✨

Quite good soy meat gyoza - Edit
A cosy spot in the middle of Shinjuku, the restaurant interior has cool decor. Open 24 hours according to Google!
Read moreThe waiter was friendly and had a funny personality, busily running around the restaurant. He offered each table a fortune cookie lucky dip on arrival, we drew a complimentary plate of gyoza 🙌🏼 Not sure if this was just a special thing for New Year’s Eve. We were also given a plate of edamame to start that I don’t think we were charged for? The vegan menu is clearly defined and it was easy to order through the tablet on the table (although there is one dish on the vegan menu with honey). We accidentally over ordered but were able to takeaway the leftover gyoza.
Pros: lively atmosphere , fortune cookie freebies!, good value
Cons: serves horse meat

BEST GYOZA - 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Edit
Would give it 5/5 but can't as they offer meat.
Read moreWe did have to wait but honestly it was worth it. Food came quickly and was sooooo delicious.
It can be hard to find a place where my partner (meat eater) and myself can eat. I was able to get veggie options for 4 different types of gyoza.

3 vegan Gyozas and one vegetarian Gyoza option, we tried the spinach soymeat and the fried spicy sauce ones, very delicious. We also had some sides: Daikon Kimchi, Cabbage salad, green peppers, which were all delicious, and ended with the yuzu sorbet, also delicious.

Small place in the by-lanes of busy Shinjuku. Reach out to the staff for vegan menu. Limited options but gyoza was delicious. Well worth the visit. We didn’t need to make reservations.
