Vegan Bao Buns are not that prevalent in my neck of the woods. Heading there was a food truck with some here in Gothenburg was exciting. Turns out the food truck was closed that day, but the little brick and mortar location was open just around the corner (search Jinx Dynasty). The tofu Bao buns were awesome. Pillowy soft, crunch, spicy, sweet, sour. Everything you could ask for.

I read before traveling to Gothenburg of which food places you should visit in Gothenburg and this was the place everyone recommended. Pleasently surprised that we managed to get there before rush hour and could see the long line. I ordered a big vegan bao which was with 3 baos with fried tofu and I would say this was my favorite place. The food speaks for itself and if you have time around lunch time, please check it out!

BEST BAOS !! - Edit
I was looking for somewhere to get a quick and cheap (for Sweden standards!) bite to eat before my train, and Jinx ticked all the boxes! From what i could see there were only 2 options (pork bao buns or vegan bao buns) with each working out at about £7.90. The location is easy to access and is found in a cute courtyard with a handful of other food trucks, cafes and an abundance of outdoor seating. As for the buns, they were probably the best bao buns ive ever tasted. The tofu was insanely crispy and the sauces were delicious, i couldn't tell you what was in it but i'd definitely say it was worth the 90SEK!

I remember being mad at this place on a recent visit to Gothenburg, as they were not open when they were supposed to and failed to inform about it on their website. This time round I was on an equally tight schedule, so I made sure to do my homework and showed up there as quickly as I could, 90 sek in tow. That's right, Jinx does not accept cash (which makes a bit more sense for hygienic reasons, given the fact that it's a food truck), but I was hoping that having the exact amount would still yield those two tofu buns that I had heard so much about. Still, I was met with a no, even if I offered to just put my money to the side, so that they could collect it later. "We'll work it out", staff added. That confused me, as I thought he had changed his mind just seconds after his refusal. I offered my cash once again, and was on my way from there, empty-handed, as said proposal wouldn't be good enough for them. But it turned out I was given the buns for free!
Read moreAs much as I dislike cashless policies, I feel compelled to give Jinx a good review after this remarkable gesture! How they tasted? Superb, but I had tried bao before, so they were probably not THAT special, objectively speaking. Guess their sympathetic sign of solidarity only enhanced the experience.

Fried tofu bao buns. 2 buns for 90 sek. Really great flavour and perfect portion size for lunch. Plenty of seats. Also sells bear and non alcoholic drinks.

Tasty and good but portions are small and a bit expensive. 85 kronors fof 2 small bao buns, over 100 kronors for 3 buns... not really any places to sit so more of a to go place. Still worth going there to check out the buns which are really tasty.

Jinx Food Truck offers a bao bun with panko deep fried tofu and it's to die for. The balance between soft and crunchy, spicy, salty and sweet is sublime! I don't think I've ever had better tofu than this! 5/5
