Delicious vegan date night - Edit
Lovely for a date night or a special meal in Porto. Varied menu with both local and international dishes - lovely to have a vegan version of ‘cod’ which is on many menus in the region. Incredible flavours - can highly recommend the tortilla wrap starter and the baked fish. Super tasty! The ‘chocolate garden’ dessert wasn’t as special as expected - just a brownie with some chocolate mousse, but still a nice way to end the meal. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Good value for money too!

I hate giving vegan restaurants, bad reviews - Edit
Where to start with this one. We walked in and the restaurant was very musty and damp smelling, and it went downhill from there. They handed us a cocktail menu, but wasn’t able to make any cocktails. The food was at best bland and at worst inedible. We ordered 4 dishes, none of which were accurately described in the menu. I got the tortilla which was stuffed with seitan despite that not being mentioned in the description. I personally don’t like seitan and wouldn’t have ordered it. it had very little flavor. My husband ordered the carrot tartare, which was terrible and tasted strongly of wasabi despite that also not being mentioned on the menu. For mains, he got the wellington which was ok, and I got the stew, which was bland and clearly made with sad canned beans and tomato paste. I hate giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest here. Vegan food can be amazing but places like this bring the reputation down.

My family and I really enjoyed eating here; we had three different main courses -- a seitan escalope, "toffish" and a vegan feijoada. All of which were objectively excellent, beautifully presented and really tasty. There is a clear focus on providing a high quality restaurant experience at very reasonable prices in a venue in which it just so happens that all of the food is vegan. Why aren't there more places like this?

One of the best vegan places I have eaten in. Extremely tasty tagliatelle alla puttanesca. Excellent mushrooms risotto. Kindest staff, and open kitchen which I love. Food is delicious and the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. A must if in Porto!

Read moreBeautiful decor, staff were complete poppits and the food was presented thoughtfully, but in filling portion sizes. I would come back to Porto just to eat here. Go, go now before this place becomes Porto’s worst case secret and has a 12 months waiting list. 10 stars all round.

We were really impressed with the food here.

Then we ordered the tofu wellington and the traditional tripe’s bean stew- both delicious but we agreed the wellington stole the show!
The staff were so friendly and attentive and we sat in the garden which was beautiful, peaceful and scenic. Great place!

Very creative and tasty food ! The vibes were cool and nice music! Pleasantly suprised to see so many tasty vegan options in this place as Porto needs more vegan spots ! One lady was serving everyone and she should have an award for being so calm and professional under the pressure of looking after all of us ! She was kind, upbeat and managing the whole floor on her own! Give that lady a raise ! Would have given 5 stars if she had a team with her - not fair she was having to serve on her own! But she did a great job! Food was great

Beware: This restaurant serves vegan meals for lunch and dinner, but breakfasts (which are offered to Jardins Do Porto hotel guests) are vegetarian. Unfortunately I learned this by watching the chef crack open eggs. Very frustrating. The hotel needs to make it clear that breakfasts are not vegan. This could also impact diners who may be concerned about cross contamination.

This place is rainy one of the best in Porto when it comes to having a little more of an upscale experience while other places are really good at making delicious fast food, at Jardineiro you will find more of a fine dining experience that is not lacking in anything.

So, some of the things were great. Eg. tofu wellington, the seitan steak and the tofish were AMAZING. also, the apple crumble dessert with ice cream is great, i came back twice for that. soup was good.

the mango appetizer was overpriced for what it was and very raw/dry/not tasty. the beans/tripe dish had way too little sausage/protein inside.
pistachio tiramisu was not bad. the cheesecake was ok. couvert is ok, although too much bread and too little spreads.

Vegan food but be careful with drinks - Edit
Really good vegan food, but drinks menu is not 100% Vegan. Wine is clearly marked, but they have cocktails and spirits that are not Vegan. For example: had 4 or 5 choices of port, disappointingly none of them were Vegan. Food was very good, menu had plenty of choice, drinks menu was a let down.
