Cute - Edit
Itadakizen is a cute place located in a random quiet neighborhood. You take off your shoes inside and get to sit on tatami mats. The inside decor is really traditional and neat.
Read moreWe ordered tofu, fried rice balls, and 2 ramens. The tofu was marinated in something really flavorful, we both really enjoyed it. The riceballs were more subtly flavored, but still very good. You get peanuts with some kind of sauce on the side. The ramen was soy-based and really amazing! It had a very umami flavor to it. The dessert was okay, could have skipped it.
The price was really good for the amount you were getting! Recommend this place, but consider taking a taxi here as the bus situation isn't very convenient.
Pros: nice decor, cheap, friendly service
Cons: the location is a bit inconvenient

Lovely ramen - Edit
The ramen was yummy and very reasonably priced at ¥1000 for a medium (¥800 for small) it was very creamy! I wasn’t fond of the tofu side dish as it was cold and uncooked which I wasn’t expecting but the ramen was so good that this place deserves 5 stars. In total I spent ¥2000 yen for medium ramen, tofu side dish and sake - not bad at all.
Read morePros: Really close to the hostel I stayed in , Variety of main and side dishes to choose
Cons: Didn’t like the cold, uncooked tofu

Meh - Edit
We came here for dinner, and ordered the tempura, spring rolls, ramen, and seasonal sushi. There was only one other group of people (two people) in the restaurant but it took almost 40 minutes for the first dish to come out, which was kind of frustrating. The tempura was really good, though almost all mushrooms. The spring rolls were alright, but didn't warrant the price (200 yen each). The seasonal sushi was good, not great. It was a little weird because we asked what the seasonal veggies in the sushi were, and they told us, but when it came out it was different veggies from what they said. Lastly, the ramen was really meh. Not nearly as good as most of the ramen we had on our month long trip in Japan. Wasn't worth going here.

Perfect! - Edit
Very friendly staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. Just wonderful! We had the grilled rice balls, ramen and sushi paired with local organic beer. Everything was tasty and we had the chance to eat in one of the Japanese style tables. Highly recommended!

Everything we hoped for - Edit
Itadakizen is a little bit hidden away, but we visited on the way to the monthly Kitanotenmangu festival and it was a great break from the heat. Only one person working at noon on a weekday, but he was very friendly and understood English. We tried the ramen and grilled rice ball set and the millet rice set with the daily special side dish of pumpkin croquettes. It also came with miso soup and an array of pickles. The millet rice blend in the set and used to make the grilled rice balls was a nice break from plain rice eaten during the rest of our trip. I only wish we had saved room for dessert!

You just try this place! - Edit
Such beautiful food, service and a lovely vibe. You could choose japanese, on the floor seating, or on the floor seating, with option to put your legs down western style.
Read moreThe food was so tasty: we got the Enmen and sushi set and an Enmen alone. It was reasonably priced.. ¥1000 for the Enmen alone and ¥1300 for the set (adds on the 5 piece sushi). We also got the dessert which was a Moringa pudding for ¥300, which was so good.
We were the only ones there which was nice for us, but hopefully more people can support this vegan restaurant 😁

Great place - Edit
Is lovely has Japanese sitting tables as well as some western style ones. The food was super tasty. It did take a while to prepare but that's because it was all made fresh which was totally worth the wait. The vegan sushi plate was small but the flavours were wonderful. Everything else was really nice size portions for the price, Japan is usually kind of expensive for vegan foods. One thing I will say, try the bamboo tea if you can, tastiest tea I have ever had, was super happy they didn't have the usual green we would order.

delicious vegan food - Edit
Tried the enmen noodle set with organic vegetable sushi! The price was ¥1,300 and you really do get a good portion. Some vegan restaurants in Japan can be quite pricey for the given portion size, but my friends and I were all pleasantly surprised. The fried onigiri and burdock salad were also really tasty! A great spot for a relaxed lunch.
