Counter selling oyaki, which are dumplings stuffed with different types of vegetables such as potato, pumpkin, mushroom, and/or red beans. All the varieties are vegan. Previously loocated in Midori department store (the sub-store called Oraho, 2F) which is part of the shopping malls in Nagano central train station. Located in the basement of the shopping center. Take the escalator down and go straight ahead and take a right. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-8:00pm.

Delicious!! Saved this travelling vegan!! - Edit
Absolutely delicious! Can be heated up in a microwave or eaten cold - tastes great either way. A variety of flavours (I liked them all). The staff were very friendly. Very affordable. I am very thankful they are there as the only vegan establishment in Nagano and surrounds.
Read moreThe location was a little tricky to find. It was on 2F of the Midori shopping centre in Nagano station. Not listed on the outside list, but it is on the one inside level 2. When going out of the station- turn left into the shopping centre.
Pros: Delicious, Fully vegan, Affordable
Cons: None at all :D

Yummy flaky vegetable takeaway dumplings - Edit
Must stop for snacks when in Nagano. They sell oyaki, which are round dumplings with and flaky crust stuffed with different types of vegetables. We had potato, pumpkin, mushroom, mixed greens or red beans. Filling enough for a lunch or dinner too. Each bite was an absolute delight. Read that all the varieties are vegan. Would 100% return next time we are in Nagano! Very convient just over the road from the JR Station.

Yummy dumplings while you wait for the train - Edit
Happy Cow listings for Irohado look a little mixed up, there is definitely a branch inside Nagano Station in Midori shopping centre here 😊 Was easy enough to find using Google Maps.
Read more6 or so different fillings available for ¥270 each, my partner and I tried mixed vegetable, spring onion, radish, and nozawana (a local green vegetable). All were very tasty!
Great to have a quick bite while we waited for the train that was slightly more substantial than the usual konbini options.
Pros: 100% vegan, local specialty, quick & tasty

Excellent options any time, especially while waiting for a train - Edit
Had these while waiting for the Shinkansen at Nagano. Neighboring stalls have similar options but this is the only one with their veg-ness clearly advertised

They’re great! - Edit
I loved them. Went yesterday as well and today to get some for the train. I’ve tried mixed vegetables, green onion, norazawa, chestnut and pumpkin. Chestnut and pumpkin were sweet. I like Green onion and Mixed vegetables the best.

Great! - Edit
These are great. Had two on the go and am planning to take a few tomorrow for the Shinkansen.
Read moreSome confusion about the location: there is still a stall inside the oraho part of midori mall (on 2F, booth 4). That’s were I went, because I couldn’t find the location according to the map on Happy Cow.

Very convenient to have these right in the Nagano station! I tried oyaki for the first time in Chikuma and fell in love. These are still good, but nothing compares to the first time.

Located on 2F of the Midori in Nagano Station. I shared the potato, pumpkin, green onion and mixed vegetable flavour. All great! They warm the buns for you to enjoy right away or you can take them away cold for another time.

Incredible! Best food I've eaten in Japan! - Edit
I tried 3 different flavours: a mixed veggie, a mushroom, and a sweet potato. They were all delicious!! Sweet potato was definitely my favourite. The stall is a little tricky to find, but the other reviewers have described it well. Go down the escalator, go straight, and it is in a little alley on the right. The staff were very friendly and had an English menu. I think they could sense my excitement. I will be going back to grab more before I leave Nagano!

Vegan or not, a must! - Edit
It is in Tokyu shopping center, in the base floor. Vegan Oyaki, typical food in Nagano, one of my favorites in Japan. There is another store near the Zenko ji temple. They have many choices, even seasonal food options.
