Fine vegetarian dining

The experience of fine vegetarian dining was tempting. And we glad we bit into this temptation. Pure dolce vita experience. The food was exquisite and we decided to try everything - literally.

1. Vegetarian platter
2. Organic wine
3. One primi piati
4. One secondi piati
5. Two desserts

Things were a bit slow to kick off. Menu arrived late and the order taking seemed eternal. Bread was offered as peace to make up.

Once the manager was out of the scene the things improved really quick. The staff were very attentive and kind to our needs.

If you want a vegan or vegetarian experience this is the place to be.

Highly recommend- watch out for the burn on your card. We consciously chose to splurge so not shocked by the bill. But you could easily do 4 dinners for 2 at this price.

Pros: Vegan delight, Organic goodness, Excellent innovative food

Cons: Pricey, Manager is not attentive, Serving is not ample

Posh restaurant with nice food, expensive bread

We had dinner at this fancy restaurant. The food was fairly tasty for the adults. My kids wouldn’t eat anything. I read that the vegetarian dishes were better than the vegan ones. The vegan dishes I had were actually very good. The seitan and a bread and tomato appetizer. I was warned about the bread cost and it happened to us to. They brought us a plate of assorted bread and charged us 8 euros for it. (We did not even finish half). Ouch. In general meal was pricy but you’d pay at least as much for an omni restaurant of this decor and service.

Pros: Artfully made dishes

Cons: Bread cost excessive

An absolute delight

We went Saturday at lunch. They have a buffet on Saturdays: it’s 25€ and you can eat whatever you want, they serve you water and orange juice as well as part of the buffet.
The food is absolutely amazing, lots of different dishes, starters, salads, desserts! Vegan food perfectly identified.
The staff is friendly and helpful.

Cozy spot in the centre of Rome

On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but this restaurant is very inviting as soon as you step foot inside. Their meals are reasonably priced (lunch is buffet only, 2 plates, a dessert and a can of water for 15 euro) and their staff is very friendly.
The vegan food is mostly a hit or miss, it tastes okay, but it isn't really spectacular. According to my vegetarian friend, the vegetarian items are more tasteful.

Some good dishes

Came here for my Dinner on my birthday and were some hits and misses. Two of our vegan starters were quite bland and the third vegetarian one was really tasty. We ordered two different pasta dishes for the mains and they were both tasty but nothing overly special for the price we paid.
The bread selection was really fresh and special but some of the dishes were underwhelming here. Would’ve preferred to try the lunch buffet instead I think.

Pros: Nice setting , Menu selection

Cons: Expensive

High end

A higher end restaurant where the service is great, food is great too but expensive and smaller portions (hence the ‘art’ factor). Perfect if you like fine dining and different food options, but not great if you want a hunk of vegan food to fill you up.

Buffet lunch

For €15 per person- buffet lunch (one plate and one bowl for soup) water and a dessert.
Nice vegan options. Lots of choice. I feel the vegan options on the buffet could have been slightly better labelled but the food was excellent. Nice setting in a quiet side street.

Best vegan meal in Rome

Best fully vegan meal I've had in Rome! My friend and I split the vegan seitan cutlets with rice noodles and a pesto pasta dish. Was not cheap but was surprisingly filling for the portion sizes and was a nice change to marinara pizza and pomodoro pasta. The vegan cheese on the pasta was really delicious and high quality. Fancy atmosphere inside the restaurant that felt a little unwelcoming at first, but would probably be different if you ate there for lunch or brunch. I would be curious to try their vegan tasting menu and would definitely go back again!

Chaotic and unpleasant, mediocre food

The place has a chaotic vibe (thanks to the staff and customers). Food was mediocre at best.

Lunch was the closest thing to an “all inclusive” experience I had outside of an actual all inclusive hotel. Which is 😞.

Card terminal wasn’t working.

Cons: Not cool

Excellent Italian Fare All with Vegitables

What a lovely surprise across the street from the restaurant that the Hassler Hotel concierge recommended to us. The signs and interior drew us in without reservation we were seated and enjoyed first rate cocktails from their extensive list of unique and rational offerings. This gave us time to absorb their extensive menu of all vegetarian and vegan offerings and options and to read the Happy Cow reviews. Our server steered us to several perfect options which we shared. Everything was perfect - the surprise amuse Boucher arrived was a treat, the presentations were delightful and we scraped the plate with the excellent bread. We were much too full to order a desert... which we will return to try another time.

Ok buffet

I liked the food. But some of it tasted plane. Obviously it’s nicer for vegetarians. Although the vegan options are good. It’s a pretty hectic place.

Great lunch deal

As a Roman, I come here regularly for lunch. You pay fixed price to fill your plate and a bowl of soup by yourself. This is a lot of food: I have to be careful not to overfill and waste food, and I like huge portions. The dishes are plenty and range from salads to pulse croquettes. The seitan is to die for. Only downside: the staff is not always friendly.

Pros: Lots of good food, Generous portions, Seat outside on charming Via Margutta

Cons: Staff not too friendly, Proportion of vegan choices oscillates

Gourmet cuisine

For people familiar to the Parisian veg*n scene, this is the Roman equivalent of the Gentle Gourmet Cafe: a great place to have a gourmet, high-end veg*n dinner in a nice setting. The food is both original and good, service is formal, the wine list interesting. Expect 50-75 € / patron. Definitely worth a go for an occasion!

Pros: Great food, Nice, formal setting

Cons: Do not expect your dinner to be cheap

OK but expensive

Il Margutta is a relatively large restaurant but the menu has limited vegan options.
They charge for the bread basket (plate) and water but this was not made clear and the price (2 euros each) is not on the menu. This is on top of the 2 euros service charge.
I had the pasta and tempura. Unfortunately the tempura (second course) came first and there was a long delay before I was served the main course (pasta).
The tempura were nice and tasty - the mashed potato and miso worked well.
The pasta with breadcrumbs was dry and chewy.
I was also served a carrot, onion, and peach taster dish (complementary). That was probably the best part of the meal.
The cost of the meal together with a basito (non alcoholic) was nearly 40 euros. This is not good value for money

Cons: Few vegan options, unnecessary extra charges

'All you can eat' buffet for EUR 25.

The food is delicious, and a lot of choice as well, both vegetarian and vegan.
The only downsize is that the option they offer during the day is only one - the quite expensive buffet.
The premises are really nice so at least you can spend a lot of time there.

Pros: Great choice, Really good food

Cons: Only 'all you can eat' buffet

Don't go for dinner if you're hungry

We were looking forward to a great meal after reading reviews and this restaurant was recommended but honestly don't go if you're hungry and what a delicious filling meal. The portions were beyond tiny and expensive. Lots of friend food which we really didn't want. They made the plate look pretty but honestly it was expensive and we had to go get food when we left.

Cons: Very Small Portions, Expensive, Not healthy options

Small treasure in side street

We came in around 6pm, when streetfood and buffet was offered (course menue starts at 7:30pm). As I wanted to try different things I chose the buffet. It was small but I still found different choices betwrrn vegetarian options and got full. The price was 12€ for the all you can eat buffet and a soft drink, 15 € if you chose an alcoholic drink.
Style was nice.

Fabulous

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I went for the lunch buffet two days in a row! It’s on a side street near a major shopping area. The lunch buffet had a decent amount of options, most were vegan. The buffet is until 7:30pm and includes a drink, any drink, including cool alcoholic cocktails and it costs 15euro per person. The staff were really friendly and spoke English well and the vibe was great. It’s a beautiful restaurant.

too pricey for simple food

It was good in the sense that there were a lot of vegan options clearly marked, but I felt like that was food too boring to pay 15 eur for a plate

Pros: many options

Cons: expensive
