Must visit for authentic Malay/Indo dishes

This place is a gem! Nearby Arab street, it’s hidden away a few streets away from the grand Sultan Mosque. It offers authentic Malaysian and Indonesian dishes, with the ability to experience multiple. If you are with a group ordering multiple dishes with individual plates of rice is the way to go! Otherwise they also offer a Vegetable set (vegan) and a meatless set (vegetarian).
I was with a group so got the chance to order many different dishes. We got the Lemak Puci Ubi, which is a dish of Cava leaf in a coconut milk based sauce. It’s a super resourceful and simple but tasty dish. When eaten with their veg friendly sambal, it is even more lovely. We also ordered the Opor Nangka, which was a jackfruit coconut curry that was so rich in flavour. The curry base over the rice was impeccable. I loved it, easily my favourite dish here. Next was the Terung Sambal Belado, which was a spicy eggplant dish topped with sambal. This again was sooo tasty and not as hot as I expected. Finally we ordered the Begedel (potato fritter coated in egg), which again was so good especially topped with a Lemak Puci Ubi and sambal combo.

If you come here just make sure to ask about anchovies or shrimp or prawns in seemingly vegan dishes. Other then that you’re good to go! There’s many vegan drink and dessert options that use a coconut milk base for you to try. However, I do recommend coming earlier in the day as some dishes will sell out throughout the day. Highly recommend!
