If Only They Didnt - Edit
When Ahimsa was Zephyr it was incredible! Once it switched, it went down hill. The quality of food, the available choices, the quality of service all are not great.
Read moreI met my wife there and we used to go back yearly on our anniversary but decided after year three that the lack of good food and service was just no longer worth it, so we celebrate meeting at other vegan eateries.

Disappointing :/ - Edit
Walked in to warm restaurant on a hot Saturday, with no music playing, and a very dry ambiance. Walked to the counter, and was ignored by the employee. Had to initiate contact, and was told to hold on. Ahimsa Burger and Thai bowl came out luke warm. Was a dry tempeh burger, didn’t feel like a house made burger as expected. Burger was missing mushrooms, and bun wasn’t toasted. Felt like it came from a grocery store. Iceberg lettuce seemed lo-quality and basic. Upgraded to sweet potato fries, which were the only thing that came out warm. Ordered another side of regular fries, but they came out cold, felt frozen and processed. Only ate a few. Thai Bowl had room temp veggies, rice, and tempeh cubes, all underwhelming. Peanut sauce was the best part.
Read moreHibiscus tea & ginger lemon drink came out room temp, had to ask for a glass of ice. Tables were dirty, and felt neglected. Was considering dessert, but ice cream had freezer burn on top, and the “fresh desserts” seemed a couple days old. Management needs to step it up before I would return.
Pros: Wide selection vegan menu, Nice decor
Cons: Served in disposable containers & plastic, Doesn’t feel fresh, Poor ambiance, uncomfortable to dine in

The food and drinks are delicious. We brought 5 kids to visit the museum and they all found something they enjoyed. My kids said their seasonal orange chicken burger is the best burger she has ever had.

Best Vegan Food in Long Beach - Edit
Ahimsa has great food and THE best in Long Beach. Fiesta Burrito is outstanding. Southern Fried Chicken Strips are very tasty. They recently began making vegan taro milk boba and we LOVE it.

Our party of three had three different bowls. Each generous portion was wonderfully presented and absolutely delicious. The one non-vegan in the group couldn’t believe how great vegan food could be! (And the compostible bowls got an additional thumbs up from us.)

Subpar Food - Edit
It's vegan but it's not appetizing. The Samosas we ordered were mushy and lacked any spice. The Indian wrap was dry as the desert and as flat and empty as it too. The kale hemp bowl was submerged in peanut sauce and lacked actual hemp seeds. I wasn't sure if I was having a bowl of peanut butter or just rice. Either way we will not be coming back.

Healthy comfort food - Edit
I would say about 99% of the time I come here the food is amazing. There have been a few times where they forgot to bring out certain items and they needed to be reminded a few times, but for the most part the food here is amazing. I have been coming here for years and I definitely can tell with time that there have been significant improvements as of lately.
Read moreOne of the first few times I came here, I ordered sweet potato fries, the restaurant was practically empty and they didn’t seem to have too many orders going on. After about 45 minutes, burnt and cold sweet potato fries were brought to my table. I politely asked the waitress to look at my fries and feel one of them to see how cold they were. After that, she apologized and soon after brought out a fresh batch of sweet potato fries that were perfect, freshly made and delicious.
Then, for a while any time I would go, the food was so amazing and high vibe for the most part.
There was a recent order where my boyfriend paid 10$ for mozzarella sticks for us both to share, and 3 tiny mozzarella pieces were brought to us. We both felt pretty unheard when we tried to let the waitress know that we felt like it wasn’t a unfair meal portion or that the menu photo wasn’t a accurate representation of how much food would come with it. She just said that’s how the kitchen makes it and that was it.
I looked up online reviews that same day and noticed another customer was not happy with the same item, so I reached out to the owner to let her know how we felt. She apologized and offered to have any menu item comped for us.
The food was really fresh and delicious when we ordered today. I got the India wrap and he got the Thai temple bowl. We also got green island smoothies.
So refreshing and nourishing 🌿
thank you Ahimsa 💚
Pros: All vegan , So many healthy options , Both raw and cooked food availability
