Vegan Chocolate with GF options! - Edit
If you're visiting Seoul and searching for a vegan sweet treat, Hidden Gem Chocolaterie truly lives up to its name! Nestled near some of the city’s lively street markets, this charming chocolate shop offers an incredible selection of vegan chocolates, including some delicious gluten-free options, that are as beautiful as they are indulgent.
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, the experience was outstanding. Ellie, the store owner, was warm, welcoming, and incredibly informative. She took the time to walk us through each treat, carefully explaining the ingredients, a thoughtful touch that meant a lot given our dietary restrictions.
Since we avoid milk chocolate, finding their vegan chocolate brownie cookie was a delightful surprise. Its rich, velvety texture hit all the right notes. The standout for us, though, was the Dubai chocolate with hazelnut filling, an absolute must for any Ferrero Rocher lover! We also tried the chocolate filled with Turkish cotton candy, and my daughter absolutely loved it. It was unlike anything she's ever tasted.
Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or simply a chocolate enthusiast, Hidden Gem Chocolaterie is a must-visit in Seoul. A true hidden gem that not only satisfies your sweet tooth but also warms your heart.

Cute shop, great coffee - Edit
Very cute little shop. I only ordered an oat latte, although it was a challenge to withstand the seduction from the beautiful chocolates ;-)
Read moreI didn't like that the coffee came in disposable cups. Even though it said they were biodegradable, it's still an item used for one time only. For having a coffee in the shop it makes no sense to me to use disposables. Great coffee though!

Truly a hidden gem - Edit
Was delighted to enjoy some vegan hot chocolate on a crisp spring morning. The golden rice cracker was mild yet pleasant. The shop is tiny and cute with very limited seating. The owner was friendly and spoke English. Was a bit pricy for Korean food standards but was still quite affordable compared to back home (US).

Might have enjoyed it even more than the hot chocolate version. Wish it was a large size because it’s heavy on the ice

Read moreI heard the chocolate drink is great here so I tried it and it didn't disappoint! The depth of chocolate flavour was incredible! I also had a cookie which was nice but nothing special.
There is a tiny seating area so don't expect free seats if you come here.
Cons: Limited seating

A gem indeed! - Edit
Calling your shop "Hidden Gem" is pretentious! It means it is hard to find, yet so good that it is worth the trouble. So I gave it a try! Although Hiddem Gem is located in a popular shopping area, it is indeed away from the main streets and therefore requires a little extra effort to find. Yet, Korea's premier navigation app called "Naver" dropped me off right in front.
Read moreHidden Gem is a cute little shop selling chocolate, cookies and drinks. All vegan, all made in the shop by the owner. This little shops has a few seats inside, so I tried chocolate milk and cookies. And indeed: the quality is very good. I found the rice cookies especially tasty, as they were sweet but not too sweet and crumbly yet not too crumbly.
I bought a chocolate gift set and the receiver said the quality of the chocolate was exceptionally good. A gem one might say...
Pro tip: "Vegan Kitchen" and "Hiddem Gem" are located close together, so do combine visits to both!
Pros: high quality sweets, nice atmosphere
Cons: not cheap (but worth it)

I was in the 명동 area and decided to go for a little walk to this chocolate store!
Read moreIt is definitely on the pricier side, but I think the flavour reflects that!
The staff were so so kind! And even gave me a free fermented drink to take home and try as well as a little card to go with my chocolates.
Packaging and presentation 10 out of 10.
An absolute must visit if you’re looking for a fancy treat or the Dubai chocolate bar!!
Pros: Staff, Packaging, Flavour!!

It's a Hidden Gem, literally - Edit
My husband and I chanced upon this place while in Myeongdong. He had a chocolate cookie, and I had the almond, rice, and orange peels covered with chocolate. Both were delicious. I'd recommend stopping by to get something here. It's gluten free and vegan, which is difficult to find in Seoul.

Small corner place - Edit
Have tried two of their chocolates - the bark one was quite average but the orange peel chocolate was really good! Not everything is vegan here so you need to ask the owner which one is.
